¹The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

²Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

³The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.

³Li Kâcuaß incßaß tixcanab li tîc xchßôl chixcuybal xtzßocajic xban nebaßil. Abanan eb li incßaß useb xnaßleb mâcßaß tixqßue reheb re risinquil lix tzßocajiqueb.

⁴He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

⁴Li ani cau nacßanjelac cuan xbiomal. Ut li ani incßaß nacßanjelac junelic nebaß.

⁵He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

⁵Li ani cuan xnaßleb nakßoloc saß li sakßehil. Ut li ani incßaß nacßanjelac saß xkßehil li kßoloc, aßan xutânal naxcßul.

⁶Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

⁶Li ani tîc xchßôl na-osobtesîc xban li Dios. Ut eb li incßaß useb xnaßleb mem teßcanâk xban li raylal li tâchâlk saß xbêneb.

⁷The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

⁷Li châbileb xnaßleb junelic teßjulticâk. Abanan li incßaß useb xnaßleb, mâ ani tâjulticânk reheb.

⁸The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

⁸Li ani cuan xnaßleb naxcßûluban lix tijbal. Ut li ani nacuulac chiru âtinac chi mâcßaß rajbal tâosokß.

⁹He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

⁹Li ani cuan saß tîquilal mâcßaß naxxucua. Ut li ani naxbânu li incßaß us, incßaß ajcuiß us na-el.

¹⁰He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.

¹⁰Li ani naxmutzß li xnakß ru re xmukbal li mâusilal, nabal raylal tâchâlk saß xbên. Ut li ani naâtinac chi incßaß naxqßue retal li cßaßru naxye, xjunes naxsach rib.

¹¹The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

¹¹Li âtin li naxye li tîc xchßôl, aßan natenkßan re li junjûnk chixtaubal li châbil yußam. Abanan li incßaß useb xnaßleb mem teßcanâk nak tâchâlk li raylal saß xbêneb.

¹²Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

¹²Li ani xicß na-iloc nayoßoban plêt. Abanan li ani narahoc, aßan nacuyuc mâc.

¹³In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

¹³Li ani cuan xnaßleb naxnau âtinac saß xyâlal. Abanan li ani incßaß naxtau xnaßleb, naqßueheß xlob.

¹⁴Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

¹⁴Li ani cuan xnaßleb naxqßue xlokßal li châbil naßleb. Ut nak nequeßâtinac li incßaß nequeßxtau xyâlal, nachal nabal li raylal.

¹⁵The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

¹⁵Li biom naru naxcol rib riqßuin lix biomal. Abanan li nebaß mâcßaß naru naxcol cuiß rib xban nak mâcßaß cuan re.

¹⁶The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

¹⁶Li tîc xchßôl naxmâtani lix yußam. Abanan li naxbânu mâusilal naxmâtani li tojba mâc.

¹⁷He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.

¹⁷Li ani naxqßue saß xchßôl lix tijbal tixtau li châbil yußam. Ut li ani incßaß naxqßue saß xchßôl lix tijbal tâsachk.

¹⁸He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

¹⁸Li ani xicß na-iloc chi mukmu, aßan aj ticßtiß. Ut li ani nacuulac chiru moloc ticßtiß, aßan mâcßaß xnaßleb.

¹⁹In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

¹⁹Li ani nacuulac chiru âtinac chi nabal naru namâcob riqßuin li cßaßru naxye. Abanan li ani cuan xnaßleb incßaß naâtinac chi mâcßaß rajbal.

²⁰The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.

²⁰Li cßaßru nequeßxye li tîqueb xchßôl cuan xlokßal. Chanchan li châbil plata. Abanan lix cßaßuxeb li incßaß useb xnaßleb mâcßaß na-oc cuiß.

²¹The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

²¹Li châbil âtin nequeßxye li tîqueb xchßôl naxtenkßa nabal. Abanan eb li mâcßaßeb xnaßleb nequeßcam xban nak incßaß nequeßxtau xyâlal.

²²The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

²²Li ani na-osobtesîc xban li Dios, aßan cuan xbiomal, ut incßaß naxqßue rahil chßôlej.

²³It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.

²³Eb li incßaß nequeßxnau cßoxlac nequeßxcßoxla nak li mâusilal nequeßxbânu, aßan re rajsinquil ruheb. Abanan li ani cuan xnaßleb nasahoß xchßôl xban nak cuan xnaßleb.

²⁴The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

²⁴Li cßaßru nequeßxxucua li incßaß useb xnaßleb, aßan ajcuiß li nachal saß xbêneb. Abanan eb li tîqueb xchßôl nequeßxcßul li cßaßru nequeßraj.

²⁵As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

²⁵Eb li incßaß useb xnaßleb nequeßosoß joß nak nanumeß li câk-sut-ikß. Abanan eb li tîqueb xchßôl cuânkeb chi junelic.

²⁶As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

²⁶Junak môs incßaß naraj trabajic, ra tixcßul lix patrón riqßuin. Chanchan nak narahoß li ruch re xban li vinagre malaj ut chanchan xrahil li sib na-oc saß xnakß ru.

²⁷The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

²⁷Li ani naxxucua ru li Dios tânajtokß ru lix yußam saß ruchichßochß. Abanan li nequeßxbânu mâusilal incßaß najt teßcuânk saß ruchichßochß.

²⁸The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

²⁸Eb li tîqueb xchßôl sahil chßôlej nequeßroybeni. Abanan eb li nequeßxbânu mâusilal, mâcßaß nequeßroybeni.

²⁹The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

²⁹Li Kâcuaß Dios naxcoleb li nequeßxbânu li us ut naxsach ruheb li nequeßxbânu li incßaß us.

³⁰The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

³⁰Li tîqueb xchßôl junelic us nequeßel riqßuin li cßaßru nequeßxbânu. Abanan eb li incßaß useb xnaßleb incßaß najt teßcuânk saß ruchichßochß.

³¹The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.

³¹Li tîc xchßôl naqßuehoc naßleb riqßuin li châbil âtin naxye. Abanan li incßaß nequeßâtinac châbil âtin, incßaß chic teßâtinak.Eb li tîqueb xchßôl nequeßxnau âtinac riqßuin châbil âtin. Abanan eb li nequeßxbânu li mâusilal junes yibru âtin nequeßâtinac.

³²The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.
