1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
2Par ķēniņiem un visiem varas nesējiem, lai mēs varētu dzīvot klusu un mierīgu dzīvi visā dievbijībā un šķīstībā.
3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
3Jo tas ir labi un patīkami Dievam, mūsu Pestītājam,
4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
4Kas grib, lai visi cilvēki tiktu izpestīti un atzītu patiesību.
5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
5Jo viens ir Dievs un viens ir vidutājs starp Dievu un cilvēkiem, - cilvēks Jēzus Kristus,
6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
6Kas sevi nodeva, lai būtu izpirkšanas maksa par visiem un liecība īstā laikā.
7Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
7Tāpēc es esmu iecelts sludinātājs un apustulis (es saku patiesību, es nemeloju), tautu mācītājs ticībā un patiesībā.
8I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
8Tāpēc es vēlos, lai vīri lūdz Dievu visur bez dusmām un naida, paceldami savas tīrās rokas.
9In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
9Tāpat sievietes pieklājīgā tērpā, kaunīgi un tikumīgi lai greznojas nevis matu pīnēm un zeltu, un pērlēm, un dārgās drēbēs, (1 Pēt 3,3)
10But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
10Bet, kā tas dievbijīgām sievietēm pienākas, ar labiem darbiem!
11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
11Sieviete lai mācās klusībā un visā padevībā!
12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
12Bet es neatļauju sievietei mācīt, nedz pār vīru valdīt; viņai jābūt klusībā.
13For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
13Jo Ādams tika radīts pirmais, pēc tam Ieva.
14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
14Arī Ādams netika pievilts, bet sieviete tika pievilta un krita pārkāpumā.
15Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
15Viņa tomēr pestīšanu sasniegs, dzemdējot bērnus, ja paliks ticībā, mīlestībā, svētā dzīvē un apdomībā.
