¹For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

¹Kad mūsu šīs dzīves laicīgais miteklis būs nojaukts, mēs zinām, ka mums no Dieva ir mūžīgs mājoklis debesīs, kas nav rokām celts.

²For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

²Jo šinī mēs nopūšamies, ilgodamies būt ietērpti tanī mājoklī, kas ir no debesīm,

³If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

³Un, ja būsim ietērpti, nebūsim kaili.

⁴For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

⁴Jo mēs, šinī teltī būdami, apgrūtināti nopūšamies, negribēdami, lai mūs izģērbj, bet lai pārģērbj, dzīvei aprijot mirstīgo.

⁵Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

⁵Bet Dievs ir tas, kas mūs tam sagatavojis un devis Garu ķīlā.

⁶Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

⁶Tāpēc mums vienmēr ir stipra pārliecība un zinām, ka mēs, kamēr esam šinī miesā, no Kunga esam tālu,

⁷(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

⁷(Jo mēs vēl dzīvojam ticībā, bet ne redzēšanā.)

⁸We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

⁸Bet mums ir vēlēšanās un stipra griba labāk aiziet no šīs miesas un būt Kunga klātbūtnē.

⁹Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

⁹Un tāpēc mes cenšamies vai nu prombūtnē, vai klātbūtnē Viņam būt patīkami.

¹⁰For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

¹⁰Jo mums visiem jāstājas Kristus soģa krēsla priekšā, lai katrs saņemtu attiecīgi tam, ko viņš, būdams savā miesā, labu vai ļaunu darījis.

¹¹Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

¹¹Tātad, pazīdami bijību pret Kungu, mēs pārliecinām cilvēkus. Bet Dievs mūs pazīst, un es ceru, ka arī jūsu sirdsapziņas mūs pazīst.

¹²For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

¹²Mēs jums sevi atkal neieteicam, bet jums dodam iemeslu ar mums lepoties, lai jūs varētu atbildēt tiem, kas lielās ar ārišķīgo, bet ne ar to, kas sirdī.

¹³For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.

¹³Ja aizraujamies līdz neprātam, tas Dievam; ja rīkojamies apdomīgi, tas jūsu labā.

¹⁴For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

¹⁴Jo Kristus mīlestība mūs skubina, kad apdomājam to: ja viens miris par visiem, tad mēs visi ir miruši.

¹⁵And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

¹⁵Bet par visiem mira Kristus, lai tie, kas dzīvo, nedzīvo vairs sev, bet Tam, kas par viņiem miris un augšāmcēlies.

¹⁶Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

¹⁶Tāpēc no šī brīža mēs neviena nepazīstam miesīgi; un ja mēs Kristu esam pazinuši miesīgi, tad tagad vairs tā nepazīstam.

¹⁷Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

¹⁷Tātad, ja kas ir Kristū, tas ir jauns radījums; vecais ir pagājis; lūk, viss kļuvis jauns.

¹⁸And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

¹⁸Bet viss no Dieva, kas mūs samierināja ar sevi caur Kristu un deva mums samierināšanās kalpošanu.

¹⁹To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

¹⁹Jo Dievs caur Kristu samierināja pasauli ar sevi, nepieskaitīdams tiem viņu grēkus un ielikdams mūsos samierināšanās vārdu.

²⁰Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

²⁰Kristus vietā mēs izpildām sūtību, it kā Dievs pamācītu caur mums. Kristus vietā mēs jūs lūdzam: samierinieties ar Dievu!

²¹For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

²¹To, kas grēka nepazina, Viņš mūsu dēļ padarīja par grēku, lai mēs caur Viņu kļūtu Dieva taisnība.
