¹And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

¹Un daži, atnākuši no Jūdejas, mācīja brāļus: Ja jūs neapgraiza pēc Mozus ieraduma, jūs nevarat tikt pestīti.

²When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

²Pāvilam un Barnabam izcēlās ar viņiem ne mazums strīdu; un viņi nolēma, lai Pāvils un Barnaba, un daži no pārējiem aizietu šinī jautājumā uz Jeruzalemi pie apustuļiem un prezbiteriem.

³And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.

³Tad viņi, draudzes pavadīti, gāja caur Feniķiju un Samariju, stāstīdami par pagānu atgriešanos, un sagādāja brāļiem lielu prieku.

⁴And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.

⁴Kad viņi nonāca Jeruzalemē, tos uzņēma draudze un apustuļi, un vecākie, un viņi stāstīja, ko lielu Dievs ar tiem darījis.

⁵But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

⁵Tad daži no farizeju sektas, kas bija ticīgi, cēlās, sacīdami: Vajag viņus apgraizīt un pavēlēt tiem pildīt Mozus likumu.

⁶And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

⁶Apustuļi un vecākie sapulcējās, lai apspriestu šo jautājumu.

⁷And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

⁷Bet kad izcēlās liels strīds, Pēteris piecēlies sacīja viņiem: Brāļi, jūs zināt, ka Dievs kopš sendienām izvēlējies starp mums, ka pagāni no manas mutes dzirdētu evaņģēlija vārdu un ticētu.

⁸And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

⁸Un Dievs, kas pazīst sirdis, apliecināja, dodams tiem Svēto Garu, tāpat kā mums;

⁹And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

⁹Ticībā šķīstīdams to sirdis, Viņš nešķiroja mūs un viņus.

¹⁰Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

¹⁰Bet ko jūs tagad Dievu kārdināt, likdami mācekļu kaklā jūgu, ko ne mūsu tēvi, ne mēs nespējam nest?

¹¹But we believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

¹¹Bet mēs ticam, ka caur Kunga Jēzus Kristus žēlastību tiksim pestīti tāpat kā viņi.

¹²Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

¹²Tad viss pulks klusēja un klausījās, kad Barnaba un Pāvils stāstīja, cik lielas zīmes un brīnumus Dievs darījis caur viņiem pagānu vidū.

¹³And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:

¹³Un kad viņi apklusa, Jēkabs atbildēja, sacīdams: Vīri, brāļi, uzklausiet mani!

¹⁴Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

¹⁴Sīmanis stāstīja, kā Dievs pirmo reizi apžēlojies, lai no pagāniem veidotu tautu savam vārdam.

¹⁵And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

¹⁵Un ar to saskan praviešu vārdi, kā rakstīts:

¹⁶After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

¹⁶Pēc tam es atgriezīšos un atkal uzcelšu Dāvida sagruvušo telti, un to, kas tanī sagrauts, es atjaunošu un uzcelšu.

¹⁷That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

¹⁷Lai Kungu meklētu pārējie ļaudis un visas tautas, pār kurām mans vārds piesaukts, saka Kungs, kas to dara. (Am.9,11-12)

¹⁸Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

¹⁸No mūžības Kungam zināms Viņa darbs.

¹⁹Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

¹⁹Tāpēc es spriežu, ka nav apgrūtināmi tie, kas no pagāniem atgriežas pie Dieva.

²⁰But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

²⁰Bet jāraksta viņiem, lai tie sargās no apgānīšanās ar elkiem un no netiklības, un no nožņaugtiem, un no asinīm.

²¹For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

²¹Jo Mozum no senlaikiem visās pilsētās ir savi sludinātāji sinagogās, kur katru sabatu viņi lasa.

²²Then pleased it the apostles and elders with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

²²Tad apustuļi un vecākie kopā ar draudzi nolēma izvēlēt no sava vidus starp brāļiem cienījamus vīrus: Jūdu, kas saucās Barsaba, un Sīlu, lai sūtītu tos kopā ar Pāvilu un Barnabu uz Antiohiju.

²³And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia.

²³Viņu rokām rakstīdami: Apustuļi un vecākie brāļi sūta sveicienu tiem brāļiem no pagāniem, kas Antiohijā, Sīrijā un Kilikijā.

²⁴Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

²⁴Tā kā mēs dzirdējām, ka daži, kas nākuši no mums, kam mēs neesam pavēlējuši, nogājuši uztrauca jūs vārdiem, samulsinādami jūsu dvēseles,

²⁵It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

²⁵Tad mēs, kopā sapulcējušies, nolēmām izvēlēt vīrus un sūtīt pie jums tos kopā ar mums dārgajiem - Barnabu un Pāvilu.

²⁶Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁶Cilvēkiem, kas savas dzīvības devuši par mūsu Kunga Jēzus Kristus vārdu.

²⁷We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

²⁷Mēs nosūtījām Jūdu un Saulu, kas jums to pašu vārdiem pasacīs.

²⁸For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

²⁸Jo Svētajam Garam un mums paticis neuzlikt jums nekādu citu nastu, kā vien šo nepieciešamo:

²⁹That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

²⁹Lai jūs sargātos no elku upuriem un asinīm, un nožņaugtā, un netiklības. No tā sargādamies, jūs labi darīsiet. Palieciet veseli!

³⁰So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

³⁰Tad tie tika atlaisti, un viņi nonāca Antiohijā. Draudzi sapulcinājuši, tie atdeva vēstuli.

³¹Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

³¹Kad tie to izlasīja, viņi priecājās par šo mierinājumu.

³²And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

³²Bet Jūda un Sīla, paši pravieši būdami, daudz vārdiem pamācīja un stiprināja brāļus.

³³And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.

³³Kad viņi kādu laiku tur bija palikuši, brāļi tos atlaida mierā pie tiem, kas viņus bija sūtījuši.

³⁴Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.

³⁴Tomēr Sīla nolēma palikt tur, bet Jūda aizgāja viens uz Jeruzalemi.

³⁵Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

³⁵Pāvils un Barnaba uzturējās Antiohijā un kopā ar daudz citiem mācīja un sludināja Kunga vārdu.

³⁶And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the LORD, and see how they do.

³⁶Pēc dažām dienām Pāvils sacīja Barnabam: Atgriezīsimies un apmeklēsim brāļus visās pilsētās, kur sludinājām Kunga vārdu, kā viņiem klājās.

³⁷And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

³⁷Barnaba gribēja ņemt līdz arī Jāni, kas saucās Marks.

³⁸But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

³⁸Bet Pāvils lūdza viņu, ka nevajag ņemt, jo tas Pamfilijā nošķīrās no viņiem un negāja līdzi darbā.

³⁹And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

³⁹Tad radās nesaskaņas, tā ka viņi šķīrās viens no otra: un Barnaba, paņēmis līdz Marku, pārcēlās uz Kipru.

⁴⁰And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

⁴⁰Bet Pāvils, izvēlējies sev Sīlu, devās ceļā, un brāļi to novēlēja Dieva žēlastībai.

⁴¹And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

⁴¹Viņš pārstaigāja Sīriju un Kilikiju, stiprinādams draudzes un pavēlēdams izpildīt visas apustuļu un vecāko pavēles.
