¹Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:

¹Tad viņš nonāca Derbē un Listrā. Lūk, un tur bija kāds māceklis, vārdā Timotejs, ticīgas jūdu sievietes dēls, bet tēvs bija pagāns.

²Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.

²Brāļi, kas bija Listrā un Ikonijā, liecināja par viņu labu.

³Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.

³Pāvils vēlējās, lai tas viņam ietu līdz, un, paņēmis, apgraizīja to jūdu dēļ, jo visi zināja, ka viņa tēvs ir pagāns.

⁴And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.

⁴Pārstaigādami pilsētas, viņi nodeva pildīšanai noteikumus, ko apustuļi un vecākie Jeruzalemē bija lēmuši.

⁵And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

⁵Un tā draudzes tika stiprinātas ticībā un ik dienas pavairojās skaitā.

⁶Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

⁶Bet kad viņi gāja caur Frīģiju un Galatijas apvidu, Svētais Gars aizliedza viņiem sludināt Dieva vārdu Āzijā.

⁷After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

⁷Nonākuši Mīzijā, viņi mēģināja iet uz Bitīniju, bet Jēzus Gars viņiem to neļāva.

⁸And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.

⁸Tad viņi, pagājuši garām Mīzijai, nonāca Troadā.

⁹And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

⁹Un naktī Pāvils redzēja parādību: kāds vīrietis, maķedonietis, stāvēja un lūdza viņu, sacīdams: Nāc uz Maķedoniju un palīdzi mums!

¹⁰And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

¹⁰Bet kad viņš parādību bija redzējis, mēs tūdaļ taisījāmies iet uz Maķedoniju, būdami pārliecināti, ka Dievs mūs sauc sludināt viņiem evaņģēliju.

¹¹Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

¹¹No Troadas aizbraukuši, mēs tiešā ceļā nonācām Samotrākē un nākošajā dienā Neapolē,

¹²And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

¹²Un to turienes Filipos, kas ir pirmā vienas Maķedonijas daļas pilsēta un kolonija. Šinī pilsētā mēs pavadījām dažas dienas pārrunās.

¹³And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

¹³Tad sabata dienā mēs izgājām ārpus vārtiem pie upes, kur, šķiet, notika lūgšana; un apsēdušies mēs runājām ar sievietēm, kas tur bija sapulcējušās.

¹⁴And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

¹⁴Klausījās arī kāda sieviete, vārdā Līdija, kas godināja Dievu un bija purpura pārdevēja Tiatiras pilsētā. Kungs atvēra viņas sirdi, lai ievērotu to, ko runāja Pāvils.

¹⁵And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

¹⁵Kad viņa un viņas nams bija kristīti, tā mūs lūdza, sacīdama: Ja jūs domājat, ka es esmu Kungam uzticīga, nāciet manā namā un palieciet! Un viņa mūs ļoti lūdza.

¹⁶And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

¹⁶Bet notika, ka, mums uz lūgšanu ejot, sastapa mūs kāda meitenei, kurai bija gaišreģes gars, un pareģodama tā deva saviem kungiem lielu peļņu.

¹⁷The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

¹⁷Viņa sekoja Pāvilam un mums un sauca, sacīdama: Šie cilvēki ir Visaugstā Dieva kalpi, kas sludina jums pestīšanas ceļu.

¹⁸And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

¹⁸To viņa darīja daudzās dienās. Tad Pāvils saskaities pagriezās apakaļ un sacīja garam: Jēzus Kristus vārdā es tev pavēlu iziet no viņas. Un tas izgāja tanī pat stundā.

¹⁹And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

¹⁹Bet tās kungi, redzēdami, ka zudusi viņu peļņas cerība, satvēra Pāvilu un Sīlu un veda tos tirgus laukumā pie priekšniekiem.

²⁰And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

²⁰Un tie sacīja, nododami viņus pilsētas pārvaldniekiem: Šie cilvēki, jūdi būdami, uztrauc mūsu pilsētu.

²¹And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

²¹Un viņi sludina ieražas, ko mums, romiešiem, nepieklājas ne pieņemt, ne pildīt.

²²And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

²²Un arī tauta sacēlās pret viņiem, un pilsētas pārvaldnieki, tiem drēbes noplēsuši, lika tos rīkstēm šaustīt.

²³And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

²³Un kad tie viņiem daudz sitienu bija devuši, tie iemeta viņus cietumā un pavēlēja sargiem, lai stingri tos apsargā.

²⁴Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

²⁴Tādu pavēli saņēmis, viņš tos ieslodzīja iekšējā cietumā, bet kājas ieslēdza siekstā.

²⁵And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

²⁵Bet pusnaktī Pāvils un Sīls lūdza un godināja Dievu; un apcietinātie klausījās viņos.

²⁶And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

²⁶Piepeši notika liela zemestrīce, tā ka cietuma pamati sakustējās; un tūdaļ visas durvis atvērās, un visu važas atraisījās.

²⁷And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

²⁷Bet cietuma sargs, uzmodies un redzēdams, ka cietuma durvis atvērtas, izvilka zobenu un gribēja sevi nonāvēt, domādams, ka ieslodzītie aizbēguši.

²⁸But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

²⁸Tad Pāvils sauca stiprā balsī, sacīdams: Nedari sev nekā ļauna, jo mēs visi šeit esam.

²⁹Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

²⁹Paprasījis ugunu, viņš iegāja iekšā un trīcēdams krita Pāvilam un Sīlam pie kājām.

³⁰And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

³⁰Un viņš, izvedis tos ārā, sacīja: Kungi, kas man jādara, lai es kļūtu pestīts?

³¹And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

³¹Bet viņi atbildēja: Tici uz Kungu Jēzu, tad tu un tavs nams tiks pestīti.

³²And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

³²Un tie runāja Kunga vārdu viņam un visiem, kas bija viņa namā.

³³And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

³³Un tanī pat nakts stundā viņš ņēma tos un mazgāja viņu brūces; un tūdaļ viņš un viss tā nams tika kristīti.

³⁴And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

³⁴Un viņš atveda tos savā mājā, sēdināja pie galda un priecājās kopā ar visu savu namu, ticēdams Dievam.

³⁵And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.

³⁵Un kad uzausa diena, pilsētas pārvaldnieki sūtīja tiesas kalpotājus, lai atbrīvo šos cilvēkus.

³⁶And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.

³⁶Tad cietuma sargs paziņoja Pāvilam šos vārdus: Pilsētas pārvaldnieki sūtīja, lai jūs atbrīvotu. Tad tagad izejiet un staigājiet mierā!

³⁷But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

³⁷Bet Pāvils tiem sacīja: Tie mūs, romiešus, nenotiesātus, publiski šaustīja un ieslodzīja cietumā, bet tagad slepeni mūs izmet. Tā ne, bet lai nāk

³⁸And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

³⁸Un paši mūs izved! Tad tiesas kalpotāji paziņoja šos vārdus pilsētas pārvaldniekiem. Un tie nobijās, dzirdēdami, ka viņi romieši.

³⁹And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

³⁹Un tie atnāca, atvainojās viņu priekšā un izveduši lūdza aiziet no pilsētas.

⁴⁰And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.

⁴⁰Tad viņi, izgājuši no cietuma, aizgāja pie Līdijas un, apmeklējuši un iepriecinājuši brāļus, devās ceļā.
