1Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
1Esiet pastāvīgi un neļaujiet atkal ievest sevi verdzības jūgā!
2Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
2Lūk, es, Pāvils, saku jums: ja jūs apgraizīsieties, Kristus jums nekā nelīdzēs.
3For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
3Bet ikvienam cilvēkam, kas liek sevi apgraizīt, es vēlreiz apliecinu, ka tad viņam jāizpilda viss likums.
4Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
4Jūs, kuri likumā meklējat attaisnošanu, no Kristus esat atšķirti un žēlastībai zuduši.
5For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
5Jo mēs garā gaidām attaisnošanas cerību ticībā.
6For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
6Un Kristū Jēzū ne apgraizīšana, ne neapgraizīšana ko spēj, bet ticība, kas darbojas mīlestībā.
7Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
7Jūsu gaitas bija labas; kas jūs traucēja paklausīt patiesībai?
8This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
8Šī pārliecināšana nenāk no Tā, kas jūs ir aicinājis.
9A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
9Nedaudz rauga saraudzē visu mīklu.
10I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
10Es paļaujos uz jums Kungā, ka jūs citādāk nedomāsiet; bet tas, kas jūs maldina, saņems sodu, lai viņš būtu, kas būdams.
11And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
11Bet, brāļi, ja es vēl sludinu apgraizīšanu, kāpēc tad es vēl tieku vajāts? Tad jau krusta piedauzība ir beigusies.
12I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
12Kaut arī tie, kas jūs maldina, sagraizītos.
13For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
13Bet jūs, brāļi, esiet aicināti brīvībai; tikai ne tādai brīvībai, lai jūs dotu vaļu miesai, bet kalpotu cits citam Gara mīlestībā!
14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
14Jo viss likums izpildās vienā vārdā: Mīli savu tuvāko kā sevi pašu!
15But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
15Bet ja jūs savā starpā kožaties un ēdaties, tad pielūkojiet, ka jūs viens otru neaprijat!
16This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
16Bet es saku: dzīvojiet garā, tad jūs miesas kārībām nesekosiet.
17For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
17Jo miesa tiecas pret garu, bet gars pretojas miesai; tie viens otru apkaro, lai nedarītu to, ko vēlaties.
18But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
18Un ja gars jūs vada, tad neesat vairs padoti likumam.
19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
19Bet miesas darbi ir zināmi; tie ir: netiklība, nešķīstība, bezkaunība, baudkāre,
20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
20Kalpošana elkiem, burvestība, ienaids, strīdi, nenovīdība, dusmas, ķildas, šķelšanās, nesaticība,
21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
21Skaudība, slepkavība, piedzeršanās, plītēšana un tiem līdzīgi. Par tiem es iepriekš saku, kā jau agrāk sacīju: kas tādus darbus dara, tie Dieva valstību neiemantos.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
22Turpretī gara augļi ir: mīlestība, prieks, miers, pacietība, laipnība, labprātība, augstsirdība,
23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
23Lēnprātība, uzticība, pieklājība, atturība, šķīstība. Tādiem likums nepretojas.
24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
24Bet kas pieder Kristum, tie ir savu miesu krustā piesituši līdz ar kaislībām un kārībām.
25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
25Ja mēs garā dzīvojam, garā arī jādarbojas.
26Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
26Nekārosim tukšu godu, viens otru izaicinādami, cits citu apskauzdami.
