¹Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.

⁷Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.

⁸And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.

⁹And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?

¹⁰And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.

¹¹And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

¹¹Un sakiet nama kungam: Mācītājs tev jautā: kur ir telpa, kur es ar saviem mācekļiem varētu svinēt Lieldienas?

¹²And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.

¹²Un viņš jums parādīs lielu, izklātu ēdamistabu; tur arī sagatavojiet!

¹³And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

¹³Un tie aizgājuši atrada, kā Viņš tiem bija sacījis, un sataisīja Lieldienas jēru.

¹⁴And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.

¹⁴Un kad pienāca stunda, Viņš novietojās un divpadsmit apustuļi ar Viņu.

¹⁵And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:

¹⁵Un Viņš tiem sacīja: Es ilgoties ilgojos ēst šo Lieldienu jēru kopā ar jums, pirms es ciešu.

¹⁶For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

¹⁶Jo es jums saku, ka no šī laika to vairs neēdīšu, iekams tās izpildīsies Dieva valstībā.

¹⁷And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:

¹⁷Un Viņš, biķeri paņēmis, pateicās un sacīja: Ņemiet un daliet savā starpā!

¹⁸For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.

¹⁸Jo es jums saku: Es nedzeršu no vīna koka augļiem, iekams nenāks Dieva valstība.

¹⁹And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

¹⁹Tad Viņš paņēma maizi un, izsacījis pateicību, lauza to un deva viņiem, sacīdams: Šī ir mana Miesa, kas par jums top dota. To dariet man par piemiņu!

²⁰Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

²⁰Tāpat Viņš ņēma biķeri pēc vakarēdiena, sacīdams: Šis biķeris ir jaunā derība manās Asinīs, kas par jums top izlietas.

²¹But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.

²¹Bet, lūk, mana nodevēja rokas ir ar mani uz galda.

²²And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!

²²Jo Cilvēka Dēls aiziet, kā tas ir nolemts, bet bēdas tam cilvēkam, kas Viņu nodod!

²³And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.

²³Un visi sāka apjautāties savstarpēji, kurš gan tas no viņiem būtu, kas to darīs?

²⁴And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

²⁴Bet izcēlās starp viņiem arī ķilda, kurš, šķiet, esot no tiem lielākais?

²⁵And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

²⁵Bet Viņš tiem sacīja: Pagānu ķēniņi valda pār viņiem, un viņu varas nesējus sauc par labdariem.

²⁶But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

²⁶Bet jūs tā ne. Kas no jums lielāks, lai kļūst kā mazākais, bet priekšnieks kā kalps;

²⁷For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

²⁷Jo kas ir lielāks: vai tas, kas atrodas pie galda, vai tas, kas apkalpo? Taču tas, kas atrodas pie galda. Bet es jūsu vidū esmu kā tāds, kas kalpo.

²⁸Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.

²⁸Bet jūs esat tie, kas pastāvējuši pie manis manos pārbaudījumos.

²⁹And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;

²⁹Un es jums novēlu valstību, kā to man sagatavojis mans Tēvs,

³⁰That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

³⁰Lai jūs ēstu un dzertu pie mana galda manā valstībā un sēdētu troņos, tiesājot divpadsmit Izraēļa ciltis.

³¹And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

³¹Un Kungs sacīja: Sīman! Sīman! Lūk, sātans meklē jūs sijāt kā kviešus,

³²But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

³²Bet es lūdzu par tevi, lai tava ticība nemitētos; un tu, kādreiz atgriezies, stiprini savus brāļus!

³³And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.

³³Tas Viņam sacīja: Kungs, es esmu gatavs iet ar Tevi cietumā un nāvē!

³⁴And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

³⁴Bet Viņš sacīja: Es tev saku, Pēter, šodien vēl gailis nebūs nodziedājis, iekams tu trīsreiz būsi noliedzis, ka mani pazīsti. Un Viņš tiem sacīja:

³⁵And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

³⁵Kad es jūs sūtīju bez naudas maka un somas, un kurpēm, vai jums kā trūka?

³⁶Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

³⁶Bet viņi atbildēja: Nekā! Bet es jums saku: tagad, kam naudas maks, lai ņem līdz arī somu, un kam nav, tas lai pārdod svārkus un pērk zobenu!

³⁷For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

³⁷Jo es jums saku, ka vēl pie manis jāpiepildās tam, kas rakstīts: Un noziedzniekam Viņš pieskaitīts. jo tas, kas par mani rakstīts, piepildās.

³⁸And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

³⁸Bet viņi sacīja: Kungs, lūk, te ir divi zobeni. Un Viņš tiem sacīja: Diezgan!

³⁹And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.

³⁹Un izgājis, Viņš pēc ieraduma gāja uz Olīvkalnu; un mācekļi sekoja Viņam.

⁴⁰And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

⁴⁰Un Viņš, tai vietā nonācis, sacīja tiem: Lūdziet Dievu, lai jūs nekristu kārdināšanā!

⁴¹And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

⁴¹Un Viņš attālinājās no tiem akmens metiena tālumā un, ceļos nometies, lūdza Dievu,

⁴²Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

⁴²Sacīdams: Tēvs, ja Tu vēlies, atņem šo biķeri no manis! Tomēr ne mans, bet Tavs prāts lai notiek!

⁴³And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

⁴³Bet eņģelis no debesīm parādījās Viņam un stiprināja Viņu. Un Viņš, nāves baiļu pārņemts, lūdza Dievu jo karstāk.

⁴⁴And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

⁴⁴Un Viņa sviedri kļuva kā asins lāses, kas pilēja zemē.

⁴⁵And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,

⁴⁵Un Viņš, piecēlies no lūgšanas, gāja pie saviem mācekļiem un atrada tos no skumjām aizmigušus.

⁴⁶And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

⁴⁶Un Viņš tiem sacīja: Ko jūs guļat? Celieties un lūdziet Dievu, lai jūs neiekristu kārdināšanā!

⁴⁷And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.

⁴⁷Vēl Viņam runājot, lūk, ļaužu pūlis un viens no tiem divpadsmit, Jūdass vārdā, kas gāja tiem priekšgalā, tuvojās Jēzum, lai Viņu skūpstītu.

⁴⁸But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

⁴⁸Bet Jēzus viņam sacīja: Jūdas, vai tu skūpstīdams nodod Cilvēka Dēlu?

⁴⁹When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?

⁴⁹Bet tie, kas pie Viņa bija, redzot, kam jānotiek, sacīja Viņam: Kungs, vai lai cērtam ar zobenu?

⁵⁰And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.

⁵⁰Un viens no viņiem cirta augstā priestera kalpam un nocirta tam labo ausi.

⁵¹And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.

⁵¹Bet Jēzus atbildēja, sacīdams: Apstājieties, diezgan! Un Viņš, pieskāries tā ausij, izdziedināja to.

⁵²Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?

⁵²Bet Jēzus augstajiem priesteriem un svētnīcas priekšniekiem, un vecākajiem, kas pret Viņu bija sanākuši, sacīja: Kā pret slepkavu jūs esat izgājuši ar zobeniem un milnām.

⁵³When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

⁵³Kad es ik dienas ar jums biju svētnīcā, jūs nepacēlāt savas rokas pret mani; bet šī ir jūsu stunda un tumsības vara.

⁵⁴Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.

⁵⁴Un tie Viņu apcietināja un veda augstā priestera namā. Bet Pēteris sekoja no tālienes.

⁵⁵And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.

⁵⁵Un viņi, sakūruši uguni pagalma vidū, sēdēja ap to, un Pēteris bija starp tiem.

⁵⁶But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.

⁵⁷And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.

⁵⁸And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.

⁵⁸Un pēc brīža cits, viņu redzēdams, sacīja: Arī tu esi viens no viņiem. Bet Pēteris sacīja: Cilvēk, es neesmu.

⁵⁹And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.

⁵⁹Un kad apmēram viena stunda bija pagājusi, kāds cits apstiprināja, sacīdams: Patiesi, arī šis pie Viņa bija, jo arī viņš ir galilejietis.

⁶⁰And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.

⁶⁰Bet Pēteris sacīja: Cilvēk, es nezinu, ko tu runā! Un tūdaļ, viņam vēl runājot, iedziedājās gailis.

⁶¹And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

⁶¹Un Kungs pagriezās un uzlūkoja Pēteri. Un Pēteris atminējās Kunga vārdu, ko Viņš sacīja: Pirms gailis dziedās, tu mani trīsreiz noliegsi.

⁶²And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

⁶²Un Pēteris, izgājis ārā, rūgti raudāja.

⁶³And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.

⁶³Un vīri, kas Viņu apsargāja, izsmēja un šaustīja Viņu.

⁶⁴And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?

⁶⁴Un tie apklāja Viņu, un sita Viņu sejā, un jautāja Viņam, sacīdami: Pravieto, kas ir tas, kas Tevi sita?

⁶⁵And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.

⁶⁵Un daudz citus zaimus tie teica Viņam.

⁶⁶And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,

⁶⁶Un kad uzausa diena, sapulcējās tautas vecākie un augstie priesteri, un rakstu mācītāji un aizveda Viņu savas augstās tiesas priekšā, sacīdami: Ja Tu esi Kristus, tad saki mums to!

⁶⁷Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:

⁶⁷Un Viņš tiem sacīja: Ja es jums teikšu, jūs man neticēsiet.

⁶⁸And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.

⁶⁸Bet ja es jautāšu, jūs neatbildēsiet un mani neatbrīvosiet,

⁶⁹Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

⁶⁹Bet no šī laika Cilvēka Dēls sēdēs pie Dieva spēka labās rokas.

⁷⁰Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.

⁷⁰Tad visi sacīja: Tātad tu esi Dieva Dēls? Viņš teica: Jūs sakāt, ka es tas esmu.

⁷¹And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.

⁷¹Bet viņi sacīja: Kādas liecības mums vēl vajag? Jo mēs paši to dzirdējām no Viņa mutes.
