1Then Job answered and said,
1नंतर ईयोबने उत्तर दिले:
2Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
2“तरीही मी आज कडवटणे तक्रार करीन. का? कारण मी अजूनही दु:खी आहे.
3Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!
3देवाला कुठे शोधावे ते मला माहीत असेत तर किती बरे झाले असते. देवाकडे कसे जावे ते मला कळते तर किती बरे झाले असते.
4I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
4मी देवाला माझी कथा सांगितली असती. माझा निरपराधीपणा सिध्द करण्यासाठी मी सतत वाद घातला असता.
5I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
5देवाने माझ्या युक्तिवादाला कसे प्रत्युतर दिले असते ते मला कळले असते तर किती बरे झाले असते. मला देवाची उत्तरे समजून घ्यायची आहेत.
6Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.
6देव माझ्याविरुध्द त्याच्या सामर्थ्याचा उपयोग करेल का? नाही. तो मी काय म्हणतो ते ऐकेल.
7There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.
7मी सत्यप्रिय माणूस आहे. देव मला माझी गोष्ट सांगू देईल. नंतर माझा न्यायाधीश मला मुक्त करील.
8Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
8“पण मी जर पूर्वेकडे गेलो, तर देव तेथे नसतो. मी पश्र्चिमेकडे गेलो तर तिथेही मला देव दिसत नाही.
9On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
9देव दक्षिणेत कार्यमग्र असला तरी मला तो दिसत नाही. देव जेव्हा उत्तरेकडे वळतो तेव्हाही तो मला दिसत नाही.
10But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
10परंतु देवाला मी माहीत आहे. तो माझी परीक्षा घेत आहे. आणि मी सोन्यासारखा शुध्द असेन याकडे तो लक्ष पुरवेल.
11My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
11मी नेहमीच देवाच्या इच्छेनुसार जगत आलो आहे. आणि मी त्याचा मार्ग चोखाळणे कधीच थांबवले नाही.
12Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
12मी त्याच्या आज्ञेचे पालन केले. मी माझ्या अन्नापेक्षा देवाच्या मुखातून बाहेर पडणाऱ्या शब्दांवर अधिक प्रेम करतो.
13But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.
13“परंतु देव कधी बदलत नाही. देवासमोर कुणीही उभा राहू शकणार नाही. देव त्याला हवे ते करु शकतो.
14For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.
14माझ्या बाबतीत देवाने जे योजिले आहे तेच तो करेल. माझ्यासाठी त्याच्या बऱ्याच योजना आहेत.
15Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
15म्हणूनच मी देवाला भितो. मी या गोष्टी समजू शकतो आणि म्हणून मला देवाची भीती वाटते.
16For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:
16देव माझे हृदय कमजोर बनवतो आणि मी माझे धैर्य गमावून बसतो. सर्वशक्तिमान देव मला घाबरवतो.
17Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.
17माझ्या बाबतीत ज्या वाईट गोष्टी घडल्या त्या माझ्या चेहऱ्यावरच्या काळ्या ढगाप्रमाणे आहेत. परंतु तो काळोख मला गप्प बसवू शकणार नाही.
