¹If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;

¹परमेश्वर जर आपल्या बाजूला नसता तर आपले काय झाले असते? इस्राएल, मला उत्तर दे.

²If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

²लोकांनी आपल्यावर हल्ला केला तेव्हा जर परमेश्वर आपल्या बाजूला नसता तर आपले काय झाले असते?

³Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

³आपले शत्रू आपल्यावर जेव्हा रागावले असते तेव्हा त्यांनी आपल्याला जिवंत गिळले असते.

⁴Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

⁴आपल्या शत्रूंचे सैन्य महापुरासारखे आपल्या अंगावरुन गेले असते. नदी प्रमाणे त्यांनी आपल्याला बुडवले असते.

⁵Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

⁵गर्विष्ठ लोकांनी वर वर चढणाऱ्या पाण्याप्रमाणे आपल्या तोंडापर्यंत येऊन आपल्याला बुडवले असते.

⁶Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

⁶परमेश्वराची स्तुती करा. परमेश्वराने आपल्या शत्रूंना आपल्याला पकडू दिले नाही आणि ठार मारु दिले नाही.

⁷Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

⁷जाळ्यात सापडलेल्या आणि नंतर त्यातून सुटलेल्या पक्ष्याप्रमाणे आपण आहोत. जाळे तुटले आणि आपण त्यातून सुटलो.

⁸Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

⁸परमेश्वराकडून आपली मदत आली. परमेश्वराने पृथ्वी आणि स्वर्ग निर्माण केला.
