¹ آدم پدر شیث، شیث پدر انوش، انوش پدر قینان، قینان پدر مهللئیل، مهللئیل پدر یارد، یارد پدر خنوخ، خنوخ پدر متوشالح، متوشالح پدر لمک، لمک پدر نوح و نوح پدر سام و حام و یافث بود.

²Kenan, Mahalaleel, Jered,

² پسران یافث: جومر، ماجوج، مادای، یاوان، توبال، ماشک و تیراس.

³Henoch, Methuselah, Lamech,

³ پسران جومر: اشکناز، ریفات و تُوجرَمه.

⁴Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

⁴ پسران یاوان: الیشه، ترشیش، کِتیم و رودانیم.

⁵The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

⁵ پسران حام: کوش، مصر، لیبی و کنعان.

⁶And the sons of Gomer; Ashchenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

⁶ پسران کوش: سبا، حویله، سبته، رعمه، سبتکا و ددان.

⁷And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

⁷ کوش همچنین پدر نمرود بود که یکی از قهرمانان روی زمین شد.

⁸The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

⁸ پسران مصر: لود، عنامیم، لهابیم، نفتوحیم، فتروسیم، کسلوحیم جدّ فلسطینیان و کفتوریم بود.

⁹And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

⁹ کنعان پدر صیدون پسر اول، حِتّیان و قومهای یبوسیان، اموریان، جَرجاشیان، حِویان، عرقیان، سینیان، اروادیان، صماریان و حماتیان بود.

¹⁰And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be mighty upon the earth.

¹⁰ پسران سام: عیلام، آشور، ارفکشاد، لود، ارام، پسران ارام: عوص، حول، جاتر و ماشک بود.

¹¹And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

¹¹ ارفکشاد پدر شالح و شالح پدر عابر بود.

¹²And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (of whom came the Philistines,) and Caphthorim.

¹² عابر دو پسر داشت. یکی از آنها فالج بود که در دوران زندگی او مردم روی زمین به شعبات مختلف تقسیم شدند و دیگری یقطان نام داشت.

¹³And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth,

¹³ -‌یقطان پدر الموداد، شالف، حضرموت، یارح، هدورام، اوزال، دقله، عوبال، ابیمائیل، شبا، اوفیر، حویله و یوباب بود.

¹⁴The Jebusite also, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

¹⁴ -‌سلسلهٔ خانوادهٔ سام تا ابرام: ارفکشاد، شالح، عابر، فالج، رعو، سروج، ناحور، تارح و ابرام یعنی ابراهیم.

¹⁵And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

¹⁵ ابراهیم دو پسر داشت به نامهای اسحاق و اسماعیل.

¹⁶And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

¹⁶ نسب نامهٔ آنها به ترتیب زیر می‌باشد: پسران اسماعیل: نبایوت پسر اول، قیدار، اَدَبئیل، مِبسام، مشماع، دومه، مسا، حداد، تیما، یطور، نافیش و قِدمَه.

¹⁷The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.

¹⁷ پسران قطوره صیغهٔ ابراهیم: زمران، یُقشان، مدان، مدیان، ایشباک و شوآ را به دنیا آورد. شبا و ددان پسران یقشان بودند.

¹⁸And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.

¹⁸ پسران مدیان: عیفا، عیفَر، حنوک، ابیداع و الداعه بودند. ایشان پسران ابراهیم بودند که صیغه‌اش، قطوره به دنیا آورد.

¹⁹And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother's name was Joktan.

¹⁹ اسحاق، فرزند ابراهیم، دو پسر داشت به نامهای عیسو و اسرائیل.

²⁰And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

²⁰ پسران عیسو: الیفاز، رعوئیل، یعوش، یعلام و قورح.

²¹Hadoram also, and Uzal, and Diklah,

²¹ پسران الیفاز: تیمان، اومار، صفو، جَعتام، قناز، تمناع و عمالیق.

²²And Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

²² پسران رعوئیل: نَحَت، زارح، شمه و مِزّه‌.

²³And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

²³ پسران سعیر: لوطان، شوبال، صبعون، عَنَه، دیشون، ایصر و دیشون.

²⁴Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,

²⁴ حوری و هومام پسران لوطان بودند و خواهر لوطان تمناع نام داشت.

²⁵Eber, Peleg, Reu,

²⁵ پسران شوبال: علوان، مَنحت، عیبال، شفو و اونام. ایه و عنه پسران صبعون بودند.

²⁶Serug, Nahor, Terah,

²⁶ عنه پدر دیشون و دیشون جدّ خاندانهای حمدان، اشبان، بتران و کران بود.

²⁷Abram; the same is Abraham.

²⁷ بلهان، زعوان و عقان پسران ایصر، عوص و اران پسران دیشون بودند.

²⁸The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael.

²⁸ این است نامهای پادشاهانی که پیش از آنکه سلطنتی در اسرائیل تشکیل شود، در سرزمین اَدوم حکمرانی می‌کردند: بالع، پسر بعور که در شهر دینهابه سکونت داشت.

²⁹These are their generations: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

²⁹ بعد از آنکه بالع فوت کرد، یوباب پسر زارح از بُصره جانشین او شد.

³⁰Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,

³⁰ بعد از یوباب، حوشام از سرزمین تیمانی به جای او به سلطنت رسید.

³¹Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.

³¹ پس از وفات حوشام، هَدَاد پسر بَداد که مدیان را در کشور موآب شکست داد، بر تخت سلطنت نشست. پایتخت او شهر عویت بود.

³²Now the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan; Sheba, and Dedan.

³² وقتی هدد درگذشت، سَمله از شهر مسریقه پادشاه شد.

³³And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these are the sons of Keturah.

³³ پس از مرگ سمله، شاول از رحوبوت، -شهر کنار رودخانهٔ فرات- جانشین او شد.

³⁴And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac; Esau and Israel.

³⁴ بعد از وفات شائول بعل حانان، پسر عکبور به جای او بر تخت شاهی نشست.

³⁵The sons of Esau; Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.

³⁵ بعد از آنکه بعل حانان مُرد، هدار جانشین او شد. نام شهر او فاعو و نام زنش مهیطبئیل، دختر مطرد و نوهٔ مَی‌ذاهَب بود.

³⁶The sons of Eliphaz; Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.

³⁶ بعد از مدّتی هدد هم فوت کرد. قبایل اَدوم عبارت بودند از: تمناع، علوه، یتیت،

³⁷The sons of Reuel; Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

³⁷ اهولیبامه، اِیله، فینون،

³⁸And the sons of Seir; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezar, and Dishan.

³⁸ قناز، تیمان، مبصار، مجدیئیل و عیرام.

³⁹And the sons of Lotan; Hori, and Homam: and Timna was Lotan's sister.

³⁹ مجدیئیل و عیرام.

⁴⁰The sons of Shobal; Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. and the sons of Zibeon; Aiah, and Anah.

⁴¹The sons of Anah; Dishon. And the sons of Dishon; Amram, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.

⁴²The sons of Ezer; Bilhan, and Zavan, and Jakan. The sons of Dishan; Uz, and Aran.

⁴³Now these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel; Bela the son of Beor: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

⁴⁴And when Bela was dead, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

⁴⁵And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

⁴⁶And when Husham was dead, Hadad the son of Bedad, which smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.

⁴⁷And when Hadad was dead, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

⁴⁸And when Samlah was dead, Shaul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.

⁴⁹And when Shaul was dead, Baalhanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

⁵⁰And when Baalhanan was dead, Hadad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pai; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

⁵¹Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were; duke Timnah, duke Aliah, duke Jetheth,

⁵²Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,

⁵³Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,

⁵⁴Duke Magdiel, duke Iram. These are the dukes of Edom.
