¹I saw the LORD standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered.

¹ خداوند را دیدم که در کنار قربانگاه ایستاده بود و فرمود: «سر ستونهای معبد بزرگ را بشکن تا بنای آن به لرزه آید و سقف آن بر سر مردم فرو ریزد. کسانی را که زنده بمانند با شمشیر می‌کشم. هیچ‌کسی نمی‌تواند فرار کند و جان سالم بدر ببرد.

²Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:

² حتّی اگر به دنیای مردگان هم بروند، از دست من رهایی نمی‌یابند و اگر به آسمان صعود کنند، آنها را پایین می‌آورم.

³And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:

³ اگر در کوه کرمل پنهان شوند، به سراغشان می‌روم و آنها را پیدا می‌کنم. اگر از نظر من در اعماق دریا مخفی شوند، هیولای دریایی را می‌فرستم تا آنها را بگزد.

⁴And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.

⁴ حتّی اگر به اسارت بروند، به شمشیر فرمان خواهم داد تا آنها را در آنجا بکشد. من قصد مجازات آنها را دارم نه اینکه آنها را کمک کنم.»

⁵And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

⁵ خداوند، خدای متعال وقتی زمین را لمس کند، زمین گداخته می‌شود و ساکنان آن ماتم می‌گیرند. تمام زمین مانند رود نیل بالا می‌آید و دوباره فرو می‌نشیند.

⁶It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.

⁶ آن کسی‌که خانهٔ خود را در آسمانها بنا کرده و گنبد آسمان را بر فراز زمین قرار داده است. آبهای دریا را جمع می‌کند و آنها را بر زمین می‌باراند، نامش خداوند است.

⁷Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the LORD. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?

⁷ خداوند می‌فرماید: «ای قوم اسرائیل، مگر شما برای من مانند حبشی‌ها نیستید؟ آیا من بنی‌اسرائیل را از مصر بیرون نیاوردم؟ و آیا فلسطینیان را از جزیرهٔ کریت و مردم سوریه را از سرزمین قیر بیرون نیاوردم؟

⁸Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD.

⁸ من، خداوند متعال، پادشاهی شمالی اسرائیل را گناهکار می‌بینم و آنها را از روی زمین محو می‌کنم، ولی بنی‌اسرائیل را بکلّی نابود نمی‌سازم.

⁹For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.

⁹ «من به دشمنان امر می‌کنم که قوم اسرائیل را همان‌طور که گندم را غربال می‌کنند، تکان بدهند تا کاملاً از مردم بدکار پاک شوند.

¹⁰All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.

¹⁰ تمام گناهکارانی که می‌گویند: 'بلایی بر سر ما نمی‌آید.' با شمشیر کشته می‌شوند.»

¹¹In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

¹¹ خداوند می‌فرماید: «زمانی خواهد رسید که من پادشاهی داوود را که ویران شده است، دوباره برقرار خواهم نمود. دیوارهای آن را تعمیر خواهم کرد و آن را بازسازی خواهم ‌ کرد و به عظمت سابقش خواهم رسانید.

¹²That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.

¹² قوم اسرائیل همهٔ آنچه را که از اَدوم و اقوام دیگر باقیمانده است و زمانی به من تعلّق داشت، تصاحب می‌کنند. من، خداوند همهٔ اینها را بجا می‌آورم.»

¹³Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.

¹³ خداوند می‌فرماید: «زمانی می‌رسد که غلّه چنان زود می‌رسد که دروگران فرصت درو کردن آن را نداشته باشند و انگور به‌ قدری زودرس می‌گردد که وقت چیدن آن را نداشته باشند و شراب شیرین از کوهها جاری می‌شود.

¹⁴And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

¹⁴ من قوم خود را دوباره به وطنشان می‌آورم. شهرهای ویران را آباد می‌کنند، باغها و تاکستانها می‌سازند و محصول آنها را می‌خورند. قوم خود را در سرزمینی که به آنها داده‌ام، مستقر می‌سازم و بار دیگر آنها را از آنجا جدا نمی‌کنم. من خداوند خدای شما، این را به شما می‌گویم.»

¹⁵And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.

¹⁵ قوم خود را در سرزمینی که به آنها داده‌ام، مستقر می‌سازم و بار دیگر آنها را از آنجا جدا نمی‌کنم. من خداوند خدای شما، این را به شما می‌گویم.»
