¹And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

¹ خداوند به من فرمود:

²Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;

² «ای انسان فانی، علیه انبیایی که از خیال خود نبوّت می‌کنند، نبوّت کن و بگو: کلام خداوند را بشنوید.»

³Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

³ خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «وای بر انبیای نادانی که از روح خود پیروی می‌کنند و هیچ ندیده‌اند.

⁴O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.

⁴ ای قوم اسرائیل، انبیای شما چون روباهان در ویرانه‌ها هستند.

⁵Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.

⁵ ایشان از دیوارهایی که فرو ریخته‌اند نگهبانی نمی‌کنند و دیوارها را بازسازی نمی‌کنند، بنابراین اسرائیل نمی‌تواند هنگام جنگ در روز خداوند، از خود دفاع کند.

⁶They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.

⁶ رؤیاها و پیشگویی‌های ایشان نادرست و دروغ است. ادّعا می‌کنند که از پیامهای من سخن می‌گویند، امّا من ایشان را نفرستاده‌ام و انتظار دارند حرفهایشان حقیقت پیدا کند.

⁷Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?

⁷ من به ایشان می‌گویم: رؤیاهای شما غلط و پیشگویی‌هایتان دروغ است، امّا باز هم می‌گویید که از زبان من حرف می‌زنید، درحالی‌که من با شما صحبت نکرده‌ام.»

⁸Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.

⁸ بنابراین خداوند متعال به ‌ایشان چنین می‌فرماید: «چون سخن‌های نادرست گفتید و رؤیاهای دروغین دیدید، پس اینک برضد شما خواهم بود.

⁹And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

⁹ ای انبیایی که رؤیاهای دروغین می‌بینید و پیشگویی‌های گمراه کننده می‌کنید، من شما را مجازات خواهم کرد. شما آنجایی که مردم گرد هم می‌آیند تا تصمیم بگیرند، نخواهید بود. نام شما در فهرست شهروندان اسرائیل نخواهد بود. شما هرگز به سرزمین خود باز نخواهید گشت. آنگاه خواهید دانست که من، خداوند متعال هستم.

¹⁰Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:

¹⁰ «انبیا با گفتن اینکه همه‌چیز خوب است، قوم مرا گمراه کرده‌اند. یقیناً همه‌چیز خوب نیست. قوم من دیوار سستی بنا کرده‌اند و انبیا آن را با گِل سفید می‌پوشانند.

¹¹Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.

¹¹ به انبیا بگو دیوار ایشان فرو خواهد ریخت. من باران سیل‌آسا و تگرگ فرو خواهم باراند و بادهای شدید بر آن خواهند وزید.

¹²Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?

¹² دیوار فرو خواهد ریخت و همه خواهند پرسید: 'گِل‌مالی چه فایده‌ای داشت؟'»

¹³Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.

¹³ اینک خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «در خشم خود، باد شدید، باران سیل‌آسا و تگرگ خواهم فرستاد تا دیوار نابود شود.

¹⁴So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

¹⁴ من دیواری را که ایشان گِل‌اندود کرده‌اند، درهم می‌شکنم و پایهٔ آن را عریان می‌گذارم. دیوار آن فرو خواهد ریخت و همهٔ شما را خواهد کشت. آنگاه همه خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم.

¹⁵Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it;

¹⁵ «دیوار و کسانی‌که آن را گل‌اندود کردند، قدرت خشم مرا حس خواهند کرد و آنگاه به شما خواهم گفت دیوار و کسانی‌که آن را گِل‌اندود کردند، نابود شده‌اند؛

¹⁶To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord GOD.

¹⁶ یعنی همهٔ انبیایی که با اطمینان به اورشلیم می‌گفتند همه‌چیز خوب است، هنگامی‌که چنین نبود.»

¹⁷Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,

¹⁷ خداوند فرمود: «اینک ای انسان فانی، روی به سوی زنان قوم خویش کن و علیه زنانی که از افکار خود نبوّت می‌کنند، نبوّت کن.

¹⁸And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?

¹⁸ خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «وای بر زنانی که برای به دست آوردن قدرت مرگ و زندگی طلسم می‌سازند. شما می‌خواهید قدرت مرگ و زندگی مردم را به دست بگیرید تا به سود خود از آن استفاده کنید؟

¹⁹And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?

¹⁹ شما به‌خاطر مشتی جو و چند تکه نان، مرا در برابر قوم خود بی‌حرمت کرده‌اید. شما مردمی را می‌کشید ‌که شایستهٔ مرگ نیستند و کسانی را زنده نگاه می‌دارید که سزاوار زنده بودن نیستند. پس شما به قوم من دروغ می‌گویید و ایشان باور می‌کنند.»

²⁰Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.

²⁰ بنابراین خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: «من علیه طلسم‌هایی هستم که برای به دست آوردن قدرت مرگ و زندگی به بازویشان می‌بندند. من آنها را از بازوهایشان خواهم درید و من جانهایی را که شما شکار کرده‌اید، چون پرندگان آزاد خواهم کرد.

²¹Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

²¹ من طلسم‌های شما را پاره خواهم کرد و قوم خود را از دست شما نجات خواهم داد و ایشان چون صید در دست شما نخواهند بود و شما خواهید دانست که من خداوند هستم.

²²Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

²² «با دروغهای خود، مردم خوبی را که من نمی‌خواهم به آنان صدمه بزنم، دلسرد کرده‌اید. شما از اینکه مردم پلید از بدی دست بکشند جلوگیری می‌کنید و جان ایشان را نجات نمی‌دهید. پس اینک رؤیاهای دروغین و پیشگویی‌های گمراه کنندهٔ شما پایان یافته است. من قوم خود را از زیر قدرت شما نجات می‌دهم تا اینکه بدانید که من خداوند هستم.»

²³Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

²³ پس اینک رؤیاهای دروغین و پیشگویی‌های گمراه کنندهٔ شما پایان یافته است. من قوم خود را از زیر قدرت شما نجات می‌دهم تا اینکه بدانید که من خداوند هستم.»
