¹Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

¹ خداوند کوروش را برای پادشاهی برگزیده است. خداوند او را گماشته است تا ملّتها را به زیر سلطهٔ خود درآورد، و تا پادشاهان را از تختهایشان به زیر آورد. خداوند دروازه‌‌های شهرها را به روی او خواهد گشود. خداوند به کوروش می‌گوید:

²I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

² من خودم، راه تو را هموار خواهم ساخت، و کوهها و تپّه‌ها را هم سطح خواهم کرد، من دروازهٔ برنزی آنها را فرو می‌ریزم، و کلونهای آهنی را خُرد خواهم کرد.

³And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

³ من خزائن و گنجینه‌های مخفی شده در جایهای تاریک و مخفی را به تو خواهم داد، آنگاه تو خواهی دانست که من خداوند، خدای اسرائیل، هستم که تو را به اسم خوانده است.

⁴For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

⁴ من تو را انتخاب کردم تا به بندهٔ من اسرائیل، قومی را که من برگزیدم، کمک کنی. من این افتخار را به تو دادم، هرچند تو هنوز مرا نمی‌شناسی.

⁵I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

⁵ من خداوند هستم و غیراز من خدایی نیست. من به تو قدرت لازم را خواهم داد، هرچند هنوز مرا نمی‌شناسی.

⁶That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

⁶ من این کار را می‌کنم تا همهٔ مردم، -‌از سرتاسر جهان- بدانند که من خداوند هستم، و غیراز من خدایی نیست.

⁷I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

⁷ من هم نور و هم تاریکی را آفریدم. من هم برکت ‌می‌دهم و هم بلا نازل می‌کنم. من، خداوند، همهٔ این چیزها را پدید می‌آورم.

⁸Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.

⁸ من پیروزی را از آسمان مانند باران نازل می‌کنم. زمین آن را می‌پذیرد و شکوفه‌های آزادی و عدالت از آن می‌روید. من، خداوند، همهٔ این چیزها را به عمل می‌آورم.

⁹Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

⁹ آیا یک ظرف گِلی که شبیه سایر ظروف است می‌تواند با سازندهٔ خود بحث کند؟ آیا گِل می‌تواند از کوزه‌گر بپرسد او چه می‌کند؟ آیا کوزه‌ می‌تواند از دست کوزه‌گر شکایت کند و بگوید او مهارت ندارد؟

¹⁰Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth?

¹⁰ آیا کسی جرأت می‌کند به والدین خود بگوید، چرا شما مرا این‌طور به وجود آورده‌اید؟

¹¹Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.

¹¹ خداوند، خدای قدّوس اسرائیل، کسی‌که آینده را شکل می‌دهد، می‌گوید: «شما هیچ ‌حقّی ندارید مرا در مورد فرزندانم مورد سؤال قرار دهید، یا به من بگویید چه باید می‌کردم!

¹²I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

¹² من زمین را ساختم و انسان را آفریدم تا در آن زندگی کند. با قدرت خود آسمانها را گسترانیدم، و خورشید و ماه و ستارگان را تحت فرمان خویش درآوردم.

¹³I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.

¹³ من خودم کوروش را برانگیختم تا هدف مرا پیاده و عدالت را اجرا کند. من تمام راههای او را راست می‌گردانم. او شهر من، اورشلیم را بازسازی، و اسیران را آزاد خواهد کرد. هیچ‌کس برای این کار به او مزد یا رشوه‌ای نداده است.» خدای متعال چنین گفته است.

¹⁴Thus saith the LORD, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.

¹⁴ خداوند به اسرائیل می‌گوید: «ذخایر مصر و حبشه از آن تو خواهد شد، و مردان بلند قامت سبا، بردگان تو خواهند شد، و آنها دست بسته به دنبال تو خواهند آمد. آنها در برابر تو تعظیم می‌کنند و خواهند گفت که خدا با توست، او تنها خداست.

¹⁵Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.

¹⁵ خدای اسرائیل که قومش را نجات می‌دهد، خدا خودش را پنهان می‌کند.

¹⁶They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.

¹⁶ سازندگان بُتها، همه شرمسار خواهند شد و آبروی همهٔ آنها خواهد رفت.

¹⁷But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

¹⁷ امّا خداوند، اسرائیل را نجات داده است، و پیروزی او تا به ابد خواهد بود، و قوم او هیچ‌وقت شرمنده نخواهد شد.»

¹⁸For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

¹⁸ خداوندی که آسمانها را آفریده، همان خدایی که زمین را نیز بسرشت، آن را استوار و پایدار نیز ساخت. آن را بایر و بی‌مصرف خلق نکرد، بلکه آن را طوری آفرید که برای زندگی انسان مناسب باشد. این است آن کسی‌که می‌گوید: «من خداوند هستم و غیراز من خدایی نیست.

¹⁹I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

¹⁹ من در خفا سخن نگفته‌ام و هدفم را از مردم پنهان نکرده‌ام. من از قوم اسرائیل نخواستم مرا در سرزمینی بایر و بی‌مصرف بجویند. من خداوند هستم، حقیقت را می‌گویم، و حق را اعلام می‌کنم.»

²⁰Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.

²⁰ خداوند می‌گوید: «ای ملّتها و مردم جهان، و تمام کسانی‌که بعد از سقوط بابل زنده می‌مانید، همچنین آنهایی که با بُتهای چوبی خود رژه می‌روید و به حضور خدایانی دعا می‌کنید که نمی‌توانند شما را نجات دهند، مردمی که اصلاً چیزی نمی‌دانند، همه با هم جمع شوید، خود را برای محاکمه حاضر کنید.

²¹Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

²¹ بیایید و دعوی خود را در دادگاه ارائه کنید؛ بگذارید مدافعان با هم شور و مشورت کنند. چه کسی در زمانهای گذشته دربارهٔ آنچه به وقوع خواهد پیوست، پیشگویی کرد؟ آیا من -‌خداوند، خدای عادل که قومش را نجات می‌دهد- چنین نکردم؟ خدای دیگری وجود ندارد.

²²Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

²² «ای تمام مردم جهان، به سوی من بازگردید و نجات یابید! من تنها خدا هستم و خدای دیگری نیست.

²³I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

²³ وعده‌های من حقیقت دارد و تغییر نمی‌پذیرد. به ذات خودم سوگند یاد می‌کنم که همه به حضور من آمده و زانو خواهند زد و قول خواهند داد که نسبت به من امین و با وفا بمانند.

²⁴Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

²⁴ «آنها خواهند گفت که فقط از طریق من، پیروزی و قدرت یافت می‌شود، امّا همهٔ کسانی‌که از من متنفّرند، دچار شرمساری خواهند شد. من، خداوند تمام فرزندان یعقوب را آزاد خواهم کرد، و آنها مرا ستایش خواهند کرد.

²⁵In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

²⁵ من، خداوند تمام فرزندان یعقوب را آزاد خواهم کرد، و آنها مرا ستایش خواهند کرد.
