¹Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

¹ ای اورشلیم در قدرت و عظمت خود، برخیز! ای شهر مقدّس جامهٔ زیبای خود را بر تن کن! کافران و گناهکاران، دیگر هیچ‌وقت به درون دروازه‌‌های تو وارد نخواهند شد.

²Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

² ای اورشلیم خود را آزاد ساز! از گرد و خاک برخیز و بر تخت خود بنشین! ای قوم اسیر صهیون، زنجیرهایی که شما را به اسارت درآورده، پاره کنید.

³For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.

³ خدای قادر متعال به قوم خود می‌گوید: «وقتی شما به اسارت رفتید، پولی برای آن پرداخت نشد، در حقیقت برای آزادی شما هم چیزی پرداخت نخواهد شد.

⁴For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

⁴ وقتی شما به عنوان بیگانه به مصر رفتید، این کار را با رضایت خودتان انجام دادید ولی آشور شما را با زور برد و در اِزای آن چیزی پرداخت نکرد.

⁵Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.

⁵ و اکنون در بابل همان چیز دوباره واقع شده است. شما را به اسارت گرفته‌اند و چیزی در مقابل آن نپرداخته‌اند. آنها که بر شما حکومت می‌کنند، دایماً با غرور به خود می‌بالند و مرا تحقیر می‌کنند.

⁶Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.

⁶ در آن روز خواهی فهمید که من خدا هستم و من این را به تو گفته‌ام.»

⁷How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

⁷ چه خوشی بزرگی است دیدن پیام‌آوری که از فراز کوهها به زیر می‌آید، و مژدهٔ صلح را می‌آورد. او پیروزی را اعلام می‌کند و به صهیون می‌گوید: «خدا پادشاه شماست!»

⁸Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

⁸ محافظان شهر از شادی فریاد می‌زنند، و مردم همه با هم با شادی فریاد می‌زنند. آنها با چشم خودشان، بازگشت خداوند را به صهیون مشاهده می‌کنند.

⁹Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

⁹ ای خرابه‌های اورشلیم فریادهای شادی سر دهید! خداوند شهر خودش را آزاد می‌کند، و به قوم خودش تسلّی خواهد داد.

¹⁰The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

¹⁰ خداوند با قدرت مقدّس خود، قوم خویش را نجات می‌دهد، و تمام جهان شاهد آن خواهند بود.

¹¹Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.

¹¹ شما ای کسانی‌که ظروف و وسایل معبد بزرگ را با خود حمل می‌کنید، هرچه زودتر بابل را ترک کنید و بروید. به هیچ‌چیز ناپاک دست نزنید و خودتان را پاک نگاه دارید.

¹²For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.

¹² این بار لازم نیست با عجله خارج شوید، یا سعی کنید بگریزید. خداوند خدای شما، شما را رهبری خواهد کرد و او از هر سو از شما محافظت می‌کند.

¹³Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.

¹³ خداوند می‌گوید: «بندهٔ من موفّق و کامیاب خواهد شد، او به رتبه‌ای عالی و بلند دست خواهد یافت.

¹⁴As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

¹⁴ مردم از دیدن او وحشت می‌کردند، قیافهٔ او چنان کریه بود که شباهتی به آدمیان نداشت. امّا اکنون ملّتهای زیادی در حسرت‌اند و پادشاهان از تعجّب و حیرت گیج شده‌اند. آنها اکنون چیزی را می‌بینند و می‌فهمند، که قبلاً هرگز نمی‌دانستند.»

¹⁵So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

¹⁵ امّا اکنون ملّتهای زیادی در حسرت‌اند و پادشاهان از تعجّب و حیرت گیج شده‌اند. آنها اکنون چیزی را می‌بینند و می‌فهمند، که قبلاً هرگز نمی‌دانستند.»
