¹At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

¹ خداوند می‌گوید: «زمانی می‌آید که من خدای تمام طایفه‌های قوم اسرائیل و آنها قوم من خواهند بود.

²Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

² در بیابان به کسانی‌که از مرگ گریخته بودند، رحمت خود را نشان دادم. وقتی قوم اسرائیل در آرزوی استراحت و آرامی بودند،

³The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

³ من خود را از دوردستها به آنها آشکار ساختم. ای قوم اسرائیل، من همیشه شما را دوست داشتم و محبّت پایدار من نسبت به شما ادامه خواهد داشت.

⁴Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

⁴ یک‌بار دیگر من شما را از نو بنا می‌کنم. یک‌بار دیگر دفهای خود را برخواهید داشت و با شادی خواهید رقصید.

⁵Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.

⁵ یک‌بار دیگر تاکستان‌های خود بر روی تپّه‌های سامره خواهید داشت و آنها که تاکها را می‌کارند از میوهٔ آن خواهند خورد.

⁶For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.

⁶ آری، زمانی می‌آید که نگهبانان بر فراز تپّه‌های افرایم فریاد خواهند زد: 'بیایید به صهیون برویم، به حضور خداوند، خدای خودمان.'»

⁷For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.

⁷ خداوند می‌گوید: «با شادی برای قوم اسرائیل، مهمترین ملّت دنیا، بسرایید. در ستایش او بسرایید و بگویید، 'خداوند قوم خود را نجات داده است، او تمام بازماندگان را آزاد ساخته است.'

⁸Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.

⁸ من آنها را از شمال می‌آورم و از دورترین نقاط جهان جمع می‌کنم. به همراه آنها آدمهای کور و شل و زنان باردار و در حال زایمان خواهند آمد. آنها به صورت یک ملّت بزرگ برمی‌گردند.

⁹They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

⁹ قوم من، تحت رهبری من، با گریه و دعا برمی‌گردد. من آنها را در کنار نهرهای آب و در راهی صاف و هموار رهبری خواهم کرد تا لغزش نخورند. من برای اسرائیل مثل یک پدر هستم و افرایم بزرگترین فرزند من است.»

¹⁰Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.

¹⁰ خداوند می‌گوید: «ای ملّتها، به من گوش دهید و پیام مرا به دورترین سواحل اعلام کنید، من قوم خود را پراکنده کردم، امّا اکنون آنها را جمع خواهم کرد و مثل شبانی که از گوسفندان خود نگاهداری می‌کند من مواظب آنها خواهم بود.

¹¹For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.

¹¹ من قوم اسرائیل را آزاد ساختم و آنها را از دست ملّتی زورمند نجات دادم.

¹²Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

¹² آنها خواهند آمد و با شادی بر روی کوه صهیون خواهند سرایید و از هدایای من، هدایایی چون غلّه و شراب و روغن زیتون و گلّه و رمه‌، بهره‌مند خواهند شد. آنها مثل باغی خواهند بود با آب فراوان، و تمام احتیاجاتشان برآورده خواهد شد.

¹³Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

¹³ در آن وقت دختران جوان از شادی خواهند رقصید و مردان‌-پیر و جوان‌- خوشحال خواهند بود. من به آنها تسلّی خواهم داد و ماتمشان را به شادی و غمشان را به خوشی تبدیل خواهم کرد.

¹⁴And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.

¹⁴ من کاهنان را با مقّوی‌ترین غذاها سیر می‌کنم و احتیاجات قوم را خود برخواهم آورد. من، خداوند چنین گفته‌ام. رحمت خداوند بر قوم اسرائیل.»

¹⁵Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.

¹⁵ خداوند می‌گوید: «صدایی از رامه به گوش ‌رسید، صدای گریه و ماتم عظیم. راحیل برای فرزندان خویش می‌گرید، آنها از بین رفته‌اند و او تسلّی نمی‌پذیرفت.

¹⁶Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

¹⁶ دیگر گریه نکن و اشکهایت را پاک کن. آنچه برای فرزند خود کردی، بی‌پاداش نخواهد ماند. آنها از سرزمین دشمن برمی‌گردند.

¹⁷And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.

¹⁷ به آینده امیدوار باش، فرزندانت به وطن برمی‌گردند. من، خداوند چنین گفته‌ام.

¹⁸I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.

¹⁸ «من می‌شنوم که قوم اسرائیل با اندوه می‌گویند، 'خداوندا، ما مثل حیوانات غیراهلی بودیم، امّا تو اطاعت را به ما آموختی. ما را به وطن بازگردان، ما حاضریم دوباره به سوی تو، خداوند و خدای خودمان بازگردیم.

¹⁹Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

¹⁹ ما از تو روی ‌گرداندیم، ولی زود پشیمان شدیم. وقتی تو ما را تنبیه کردی، ما سرافکنده و محزون شدیم. به‌خاطر گناهان و خطاهای دوران جوانیمان، شرمنده و رسوا شدیم.'

²⁰Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

²⁰ ای اسرائیل، تو عزیزترین فرزند من هستی، فرزندی که بیش از همه دوست دارم. هر وقت نام تو را از روی خشم ذکر می‌کنم، با محبّت به تو می‌اندیشم. دل من برای تو می‌سوزد و از روی ترحّم با تو رفتار خواهم کرد.

²¹Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.

²¹ راه را علامت‌گذاری کنید و نشانه‌هایی در آن قرار دهید تا بتوانید در برگشت راه خود را پیدا کنید. ای قوم اسرائیل بازگردید، به شهرهایی که ترک کردید، بازگردید.

²²How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.

²² ای قوم بی‌وفا، تا کی تردید می‌کنید؟ من چیزی تازه و متفاوت به وجود آورده‌ام، که یک زن سرپرستی یک مرد را به عهده بگیرد.»

²³Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.

²³ خداوند متعال، خدای اسرائیل می‌گوید: «وقتی من مردم را به سرزمین خودشان بازگردانم، آنها یک‌بار دیگر در یهودا و در شهرهای آن خواهند گفت، 'خداوند کوه مقدّس خود یعنی اورشلیم را‌-مکان مقدّسی که خودش در آن زندگی می‌کند‌- برکت دهد.'

²⁴And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks.

²⁴ مردم در یهودا و در شهرهای آن زندگی خواهند کرد و زارعین و چوپانان با گلّه‌های خود در اطراف آن خواهند بود.

²⁵For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.

²⁵ خستگان را نیروی تازه می‌بخشم و به آنها که از گرسنگی ضعیف شده‌اند، غذا خواهم داد.

²⁶Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.

²⁶ آنگاه مردم خواهند گفت، 'من خوابیدم و با نیروی تازه بیدار شدم.'

²⁷Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.

²⁷ «من، خداوند، می‌گویم بزودی زمانی می‌آید که من سرزمین اسرائیل و یهودا را از انسان و حیوان پر خواهم ساخت.

²⁸And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.

²⁸ به همان نحوی که من آنها را ریشه‌کن کردم، بر زمین افکندم، برانداختم، درهم شکستم و ویران کردم، به همان نحو آنها را دوباره خواهم کاشت و بنا خواهم کرد.

²⁹In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge.

²⁹ وقتی آن روز فرا رسد، دیگر مردم نخواهند گفت: 'والدین غوره خوردند، امّا دندانهای فرزندان کند شده است.'

³⁰But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

³⁰ در عوض هرکس غوره بخورد، دندانهای خودش کُند خواهد شد و هرکس در جزای گناه خود، مرگ را خواهد دید.»

³¹Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

³¹ خداوند می‌گوید: «زمانی می‌رسد که من پیمانی تازه با خاندان اسرائیل و خاندان یهودا خواهم بست.

³²Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

³² آن مانند پیمانی نخواهد بود که با اجدادشان، وقتی دست آنها را گرفتم و از مصر نجات دادم، بستم. هر چند من مثل یک شوهر با آنها رفتار کردم، آنها آن پیمان را نگاه نداشتند.

³³But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

³³ پیمان تازه‌ای که با قوم اسرائیل می‌بندم چنین خواهد بود: شریعت خود را در ضمیر آنها قرار می‌دهم و بر قلبشان خواهم نوشت. من خدای آنها و آنها قوم من خواهند بود.

³⁴And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

³⁴ دیگر احتیاجی نیست كه آنان به همشهریان خود تعلیم دهند یا به یکدیگر بگویند: خدا را بشناس، زیرا همه از بزرگ تا كوچک مرا خواهند شناخت. در مقابل خطاهای آنها بخشنده خواهم بود و دیگر گناهان آنان را هرگز به یاد نخواهم آورد.»

³⁵Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:

³⁵ خداوند خورشید را قرار داد تا در روز روشنایی دهد و ماه و ستارگان را تا در شب بدرخشند. او دریا را به تلاطم می‌آورد تا امواج آن خروشان شوند، نام او خداوند متعال است.

³⁶If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

³⁶ او وعده می‌دهد تا زمانی که این نظام طبیعت ادامه یابد، قوم اسرائیل هم به عنوان یک ملّت باقی خواهد ماند.

³⁷Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.

³⁷ اگر روزی بتوان آسمان را اندازه گرفت و در بنیان زمین کاوش کرد، آن وقت، در آن زمان من قوم اسرائیل را، به‌خاطر کارهایشان ترک خواهم کرد. خداوند چنین گفته است.

³⁸Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.

³⁸ خداوند می‌گوید: «زمانی می‌آید که اورشلیم به عنوان شهر من از بُرج حننئیل در غرب، تا دروازهٔ زاویه

³⁹And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.

³⁹ و محدودهٔ شهر از آنجا به طرف غرب تا تپّهٔ جارب و تا اطراف جوعت امتداد خواهد داشت. تمام آن وادی که مردگان را در آن دفن می‌کنند و جایی که زباله‌ها را می‌ریزند و تمام مزارع بالای وادی قدرون تا دروازهٔ اسب در شرق، تمام اینها برای من مقدّس خواهد بود. این شهر دیگر هرگز خراب و ویران نخواهد شد.»

⁴⁰And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.

⁴⁰ تمام آن وادی که مردگان را در آن دفن می‌کنند و جایی که زباله‌ها را می‌ریزند و تمام مزارع بالای وادی قدرون تا دروازهٔ اسب در شرق، تمام اینها برای من مقدّس خواهد بود. این شهر دیگر هرگز خراب و ویران نخواهد شد.»
