¹At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.

¹ از این سبب دل من به لرزه می‌آید و بشدّت تکان می‌خورد.

²Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

² غرّش صدای خدا را بشنوید و به زمزمه‌ای که از دهان او خارج می‌شود گوش بدهید.

³He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

³ او برق را به سراسر آسمان می‌فرستد و هر گوشهٔ زمین را روشن می‌کند.

⁴After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

⁴ بعد غرّش صدای او همچون آواز با هیبت رعد به گوش می‌رسد و با صدای او تیرهای برق پیاپی رها می‌شوند.

⁵God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

⁵ به فرمان خدا کارهای عجیبی رخ می‌دهد که عقل ما از درک آنها عاجز است.

⁶For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

⁶ به برف امر می‌کند که بر زمین ببارد و وقتی‌که بارش باران بر زمین شروع می‌شود،

⁷He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

⁷ مردم دست از کار می‌کشند و متوجّه قدرت او می‌شوند.

⁸Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

⁸ حیوانات وحشی به بیشهٔ خود می‌شتابند و در آنجا پناه می‌برند.

⁹Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.

⁹ توفان از جنوب می‌آید و باد سرد از شمال.

¹⁰By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

¹⁰ خدا بر آب دریاهای وسیع می‌دمد و آن را منجمد می‌سازد.

¹¹Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:

¹¹ ابرها را از رطوبت پُر می‌کند و برق خود را به وسیلهٔ آنها به هر سو می‌فرستد.

¹²And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.

¹² به فرمان او به همه‌جا حرکت می‌کنند و آنچه را که خدا اراده می‌فرماید، بجا می‌آورند.

¹³He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

¹³ او باران را برای مجازات مردم، یا به عنوان رحمت برای انسان و آبیاری زمین می‌فرستد.

¹⁴Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

¹⁴ لحظه‌ای صبر کن و گوش بده و لحظه‌ای دربارهٔ کارهای عجیب خدا تأمل کن.

¹⁵Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

¹⁵ آیا می‌دانی که خدا چگونه ارادهٔ خود را عملی می‌سازد و برق را در بین ابرها تولید می‌کند؟

¹⁶Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?

¹⁶ آیا می‌دانی که چطور ابرها در هوا معلّق می‌مانند؟ اینها همه کارهای شگفت‌آور خدایی است که در دانش و حکمت کامل است.

¹⁷How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

¹⁷ وقتی زمین در اثر باد جنوب داغ می‌شود و لباسهایت از گرمی به تنت می‌چسبند،

¹⁸Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

¹⁸ آیا می‌توانی خدا را کمک کنی که آسمان را گسترش بدهد و آن را مثل آهن صیقل داده شده، سخت بگرداند؟

¹⁹Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

¹⁹ به ما یاد بده که به او چه بگوییم، زیرا فکر ما نارساست و نمی‌دانیم که چگونه با او صحبت کنیم.

²⁰Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

²⁰ من جرأت آن را ندارم که با خدا حرف بزنم، زیرا می‌ترسم که کشته شوم.

²¹And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.

²¹ همان‌طور که نمی‌توانیم در آسمان صاف و بی‌ابر، به نور خورشید نگاه کنیم،

²²Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.

²² همچنین نیز نمی‌توانیم به جلال با هیبت خدا، که با شکوه تمام بر ما می‌درخشد، خیره شویم.

²³Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

²³ خدای قادر مطلق آن‌قدر با عظمت است که ما حتّی نمی‌توانیم تصوّر کنیم. او در قدرت و عدالت بزرگ است و نسبت به همه از روی انصاف رفتار می‌کند و بر کسی ظلم نمی‌کند. بنابراین همهٔ انسانها از او می‌ترسند و او به کسانی‌که ادّعای حکمت می‌کنند، توجّهی ندارد.

²⁴Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
