¹At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

¹ در آن وقت شاگردان نزد عیسی آمده از او پرسیدند: «چه کسی در پادشاهی آسمان از همه بزرگتر است؟»

²And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

² عیسی كودكی را صدا كرد و از او خواست در برابر آنان بایستد

³And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

³ و سپس به آنان گفت: «در حقیقت به شما می‌گویم كه اگر شما عوض نشوید و مانند كودكان نگردید، هرگز به پادشاهی آسمان وارد نخواهید شد.

⁴Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

⁴ در پادشاهی آسمان، آن کسی از همه بزرگتر است كه خود را فروتن سازد و مانند این كودک بشود.

⁵And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

⁵ و کسی‌که چنین كودكی را به نام من بپذیرد، مرا پذیرفته است.

⁶But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

⁶ «وای به حال کسی‌که باعث لغزش یکی از این كوچكان كه به من ایمان دارند بشود. برای او بهتر است كه سنگ آسیابی به گردنش آویخته شود و در اعماق دریا غرق گردد.

⁷Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

⁷ وای بر دنیا كه باعث چنین لغزشهایی می‌شود! مسلّماً لغزشهایی پیش خواهد آمد، امّا وای بر کسی‌که باعث این لغزشها شود.

⁸Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

⁸ «بنابراین اگر دست یا پای تو، تو را به گناه بكشاند آن را قطع كن و دور بینداز، زیرا برای تو بهتر است كه بدون دست یا پا وارد حیات گردی تا با دو دست و دو پا به داخل آتش ابدی افكنده شوی.

⁹And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

⁹ و اگر چشم تو، تو را به گناه می‌کشاند، آن را در آور و دور بینداز، زیرا بهتر است كه با یک چشم وارد حیات شوی تا با دو چشم به آتش دوزخ افكنده شوی.

¹⁰Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

¹⁰ «هرگز این كوچكان را حقیر نشمارید. بدانید كه آنان در عالم بالا فرشتگانی دارند كه پیوسته در پیشگاه پدر آسمانی من حاضر هستند. [

¹¹For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

¹¹ زیرا پسر انسان آمده است تا گُمشده را نجات بخشد.]

¹²How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

¹² «عقیدهٔ شما چیست؟ اگر مردی صد گوسفند داشته باشد و یکی از آنها گُم شود، آیا او نود و نه گوسفند دیگر را در كوهسار رها نمی‌کند و به جستجوی گوسفند گُمشده نمی‌رود؟

¹³And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

¹³ و هرگاه آن را پیدا كند برای آن یک گوسفند بیشتر شاد می‌شود تا برای آن نود و نه گوسفند دیگر كه گُم نشده‌اند.

¹⁴Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

¹⁴ به همین‌طور پدر آسمانی شما نمی‌خواهد كه حتّی یکی از این كوچكان از دست برود.

¹⁵Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

¹⁵ «اگر برادرت به تو بدی كند، برو و با او در تنهایی دربارهٔ آن موضوع صحبت كن. اگر به سخن تو گوش دهد برادر خود را بازیافته‌ای

¹⁶But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

¹⁶ و اگر به سخن تو گوش ندهد، یک یا دو نفر دیگر را با خود ببر تا از زبان دو یا سه شاهد این موضوع تأیید شود.

¹⁷And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

¹⁷ اگر حاضر نیست سخنان آنان را بشنود موضوع را به اطّلاع كلیسا برسان و اگر حاضر نشود به كلیسا گوش دهد، با او مثل یک بیگانه یا باجگیر رفتار كن.

¹⁸Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

¹⁸ «بدانید كه هرچه شما در زمین حرام كنید در آسمان حرام خواهد شد و هرچه را بر روی زمین حلال نمایید در آسمان حلال خواهد شد.

¹⁹Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

¹⁹ و نیز بدانید كه هرگاه دو نفر از شما در روی زمین دربارهٔ آنچه كه از خدا می‌خواهند یكدل باشند پدر آسمانی من آن را به ایشان خواهد بخشید،

²⁰For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

²⁰ زیرا هرجا كه دو یا سه نفر به نام من جمع شوند، من آنجا در میان آنان هستم.»

²¹Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

²¹ در این وقت پطرس پیش عیسی آمده از او پرسید: «خداوندا، اگر برادر من نسبت به من خطا بكند تا چند بار باید او را ببخشم؟ تا هفت بار؟»

²²Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

²² عیسی در جواب گفت: «نمی‌گویم هفت بار، بلكه هفتاد مرتبه هفت بار.

²³Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

²³ چون پادشاهی آسمان مانند پادشاهی است كه تصمیم گرفت از خادمان خود حساب بخواهد.

²⁴And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

²⁴ وقتی این كار را شروع كرد شخصی را نزد او آوردند كه میلیونها تومان به او بدهكار بود

²⁵But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

²⁵ امّا چون او نمی‌توانست آن را بپردازد، اربابش دستور داد او را با زن و فرزندان و تمام هستی‌اش بفروشند تا بدهی خود را بپردازد.

²⁶The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

²⁶ آن شخص پیش پای ارباب خود افتاده گفت: 'ای آقا، به من مهلت بده و من تمام آن را تا ریال آخر به تو خواهم پرداخت.'

²⁷Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

²⁷ دل ارباب به حال او سوخت. به طوری که از دریافت طلب خود صرف نظر كرد و به او اجازه داد برود.

²⁸But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

²⁸ «امّا او وقتی از آنجا رفت در راه با یکی از همكاران خود روبه‌رو شد كه در حدود صد و پنجاه تومان به او بدهكار بود، او را گرفت و گلویش را فشرده گفت: 'بدهی خود را به من بپرداز.'

²⁹And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

²⁹ آن شخص به پای همكار خود افتاد و به او التماس كرده گفت: 'به من مهلت بده، پول تو را می‌پردازم.'

³⁰And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

³⁰ امّا او قبول نكرد و آن مرد را به زندان انداخت تا بدهی خود را بپردازد.

³¹So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

³¹ خادمان دیگری كه این ماجرا را دیدند بسیار ناراحت شدند و به نزد ارباب خود رفته تمام جریان را به اطّلاع او رسانیدند.

³²Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

³² او آن مرد را احضار كرده به او گفت: 'ای غلام شریر، به‌خاطر خواهشی كه از من كردی من همهٔ بدهی تو را به تو بخشیدم.

³³Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

³³ آیا نمی‌باید همین‌طور كه من دلم برای تو سوخت، تو هم به همكار خود ترحّم می‌کردی؟'

³⁴And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

³⁴ ارباب آن‌قدر خشمگین شد كه آن غلام را به زندان انداخت و دستور داد تنبیه شود و تا وقتی تمام بدهی خود را نپرداخته است، آزاد نشود. «اگر همهٔ شما برادر خود را از دل نبخشید، پدر آسمانی من هم با شما همین‌طور رفتار خواهد كرد.»

³⁵So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

³⁵ «اگر همهٔ شما برادر خود را از دل نبخشید، پدر آسمانی من هم با شما همین‌طور رفتار خواهد كرد.»
