¹Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;

¹ خدایا، نام تو را ستایش می‌کنم، خاموش مباش.

²For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.

² زیرا مردم شریر و دروغگو زبان به بدگویی من گشوده‌اند و دربارهٔ من دروغ می‌گویند.

³They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

³ سخنان نفرت‌انگیز می‌گویند و بدون سبب با من می‌جنگند.

⁴For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

⁴ من آنها را دوست دارم و برایشان دعا می‌کنم امّا آنها با من مخالفت می‌کنند.

⁵And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

⁵ جواب خوبی‌های مرا با بدی می‌دهند و در عوض محبّت، دشمنی می‌کنند.

⁶Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.

⁶ حاکم ظالمی را بر او بگمار و یکی از دشمنانش را تا علیه او شهادت بدهد.

⁷When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

⁷ در دادگاه محکوم شود و دعایش هم گناه محسوب گردد!

⁸Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

⁸ عمرش کوتاه شود و دیگری جا و مقامش را بگیرد!

⁹Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

⁹ فرزندانش یتیم شوند و زنش بیوه گردد!

¹⁰Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.

¹⁰ اطفالش آواره شوند و به گدایی بیفتند، از ویرانه‌ای که زندگی می‌کنند رانده گردند!

¹¹Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.

¹¹ طلبکارانش مال و دارایی‌اش را غصب کنند و بیگانگان حاصل زحمتش را به تاراج ببرند.

¹²Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.

¹² کسی بر او رحم نکند و هیچ‌کس یتیمانی را که او از خود به جا می‌گذارد، مورد لطف و توجّه قرار ندهد.

¹³Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

¹³ نسل او قطع، و نامش از صفحهٔ روزگار محو گردد!

¹⁴Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

¹⁴ خداوند شرارت ‌نیاکانش را فراموش نکند و گناهان مادرش را نیامرزد!

¹⁵Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

¹⁵ کارهای بد او همیشه مدّ نظر خداوند باشد، امّا خاطرهٔ او از روی زمین محو شود!

¹⁶Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

¹⁶ زیرا او هرگز به کسی رحم نکرد، بلکه به فقیران و محتاجان و بی‌کسان، آزار رسانید و آنان را کشت.

¹⁷As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.

¹⁷ او دوست داشت که دیگران را لعنت کند، اکنون خودش را لعنت کن. نمی‌خواست به کسی برکت برساند، پس هیچ‌کس او را برکت نرساند.

¹⁸As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

¹⁸ لعنت را مثل لباس به تن می‌کرد، پس اکنون لعنت مانند آب در بدنش و مثل روغن در استخوانهایش نفوذ کند.

¹⁹Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.

¹⁹ اینک لعنت مانند لباسی که می‌پوشید و مانند کمربندی که به کمر می‌بست، او را بپوشاند.

²⁰Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.

²⁰ خداوند دشمنانم و کسانی را که از من بدگویی می‌کنند، چنین جزا بدهد.

²¹But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name's sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.

²¹ امّا ای خدا و ای خداوند من، به‌خاطر نام خود به من کمک کن و به‌خاطر محبّت پایدارت مرا نجات بده.

²²For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

²² من مسکین و نیازمندم، درد و غم تا اعماق قلبم رخنه کرده است.

²³I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.

²³ مانند سایهٔ غروب در حال فنا هستم و مانند ملخی رانده شده‌ام.

²⁴My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.

²⁴ از بس روزه گرفته‌ام، قوّتی در زانوهایم نمانده و فقط پوست و استخوان شده‌ام.

²⁵I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.

²⁵ پیش دشمنانم رسوا و مسخره شده‌ام و وقتی مرا می‌بینند، سر خود را می‌جنبانند.

²⁶Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to thy mercy:

²⁶ ای خداوند و خدای من، مرا کمک کن و به‌خاطر محبّت پایدارت، مرا نجات بده

²⁷That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, LORD, hast done it.

²⁷ تا دشمنانم بدانند که تو ای خداوند، نجات‌دهندهٔ من هستی.

²⁸Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.

²⁸ آنها مرا لعنت می‌کنند، امّا تو مرا برکت بده، تا بدخواهانم شرمنده شوند و این بنده‌ات شادمان گردد.

²⁹Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.

²⁹ دشمنانم را رسوا گردان و آنها را با شرم و خجالت بپوشان!

³⁰I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

³⁰ با زبان خود از خداوند بسیار تشکّر خواهم نمود و در حضور همهٔ مردم، او را ستایش خواهم كرد. زیرا از مردم مسکین و فقیر حمایت می‌نماید و از دست کسانی‌که آنان را محکوم به مرگ می‌کنند، رهایی می‌بخشد.

³¹For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.

³¹ زیرا از مردم مسکین و فقیر حمایت می‌نماید و از دست کسانی‌که آنان را محکوم به مرگ می‌کنند، رهایی می‌بخشد.
