¹Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.

¹ خداوندا، به نام تو، تنها به نام تو جلال باد، نه به نام ما، زیرا تو سرشار از محبّت پایدار و وفا هستی.

²Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

² چرا ملّتهای جهان از ما بپرسند: «خدای شما کجاست؟»

³But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

³ خدای ما در آسمانهاست و آنچه را که اراده فرماید به عمل می‌آورد.

⁴Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

⁴ خدایان آنها از نقره و طلا و ساختهٔ دست بشر هستند.

⁵They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

⁵ آنها دهان دارند، امّا حرف نمی‌زنند، چشم دارند، ولی نمی‌بینند.

⁶They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

⁶ گوش دارند، امّا نمی‌شنوند. بینی دارند، لیکن نمی‌بویند.

⁷They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

⁷ دست دارند، امّا لمس نمی‌کنند. پا دارند، امّا راه نمی‌روند و صدایی از گلویشان بیرون نمی‌آید.

⁸They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.

⁸ کسانی‌که آنها را ساخته‌اند و همچنین اشخاصی که به آنها اطمینان دارند، مانند بُتهایی می‌شوند که ساخته‌اند.

⁹O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

⁹ ای بنی‌اسرائیل، بر خداوند توکّل کنید، زیرا او نگهبان و یاور شماست.

¹⁰O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

¹⁰ ای کاهنان خدا، بر خداوند توکّل کنید، زیرا او نگهبان و یاور شماست.

¹¹Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

¹¹ ای خداترسان، بر خداوند توکّل کنید، زیرا او نگهبان و یاور شماست.

¹²The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

¹² خداوند به ما توجّه دارد و ما را برکت می‌دهد. او بنی‌اسرائیل و تمام کاهنان خدا را برکت خواهد داد.

¹³He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.

¹³ او همهٔ خداترسان، کوچک و بزرگ را، یکسان برکت خواهد داد.

¹⁴The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

¹⁴ خداوند نسل شما و فرزندانتان را برکت دهد!

¹⁵Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.

¹⁵ خداوندی که آسمانها و زمین را آفریده است، شما را برکت دهد!

¹⁶The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

¹⁶ آسمانها از آن خداوند هستند، امّا زمین را به انسان بخشیده است.

¹⁷The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.

¹⁷ مردگان و کسانی‌که به دیار خاموشی می‌روند خداوند را ستایش نمی‌کنند. امّا ما که زنده هستیم، خداوند را ستایش می‌کنیم از اکنون تا به ابد. خداوند را سپاس باد!

¹⁸But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the LORD.
