¹Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.

¹ خداوندا، از شدّت غم و اندوه به درگاه تو فریاد می‌کنم.

²Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

² خداوندا، فریاد مرا بشنو و به دعای من توجّه فرما.

³If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

³ خداوندا، اگر گناهان ما را به یاد آوری، چه کسی تبرئه خواهد شد؟

⁴But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

⁴ امّا تو، خدای بخشنده هستی و ما باید به تو احترام بگذاریم.

⁵I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

⁵ من بی‌صبرانه منتظر کمک از جانب خداوند هستم، زیرا به وعدهٔ او اعتماد دارم.

⁶My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

⁶ من بیشتر از نگهبانانی که منتظر طلوع صبح هستند، در انتظار خداوند می‌باشم.

⁷Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

⁷ ای اسرائیل، بر خداوند توکّل کن، زیرا از روی محبّت پایدارش همیشه مایل است که شما را نجات بخشد. او قوم خود، اسرائیل را از تمام گناهانشان نجات می‏بخشد.

⁸And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
