¹Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

¹ اسرائیل، بگو که چطور از زمان جوانی، دشمنانت تو را عذاب دادند.

²Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.

² «از زمانی که جوان بودم، دشمنانم بر من ظلم کردند، امّا نتوانستند مرا از پای درآورند.

³The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.

³ شانه‏هایم را با شلاق، مانند زمین شخم زده کردند.

⁴The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

⁴ امّا خداوند عادل مرا از بردگی آزاد کرد.»

⁵Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

⁵ کسانی‌که از صهیون نفرت دارند، سرنگون شوند.

⁶Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:

⁶ مانند علف روییده بر روی بامها پیش از آن که نمو کنند، پژمرده گردند

⁷Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

⁷ و کسی نتواند آنها را بچیند و یا به صورت بافه ببندد. هیچ رهگذری نگوید: «خداوند تو را برکت دهد یا ما به نام خداوند تو را برکت می‌دهیم!»

⁸Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.
