¹Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.

¹ خداوندا، نزد تو التماس می‌کنم، به کمک من بشتاب. وقتی نزد تو دعا می‌کنم، دعایم را بشنو.

²Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

² دعای من همچون بُخور به درگاه تو برسد و دستهایم را که به پیشگاهت برمی‌افرازم، مانند قربانی شامگاهان قبول فرما.

³Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

³ خداوندا، لبها و دهان مرا نگاهبانی فرما.

⁴Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.

⁴ دلم را به کارهای بد مایل مگردان، تا با شریران مرتکب کارهای زشت نشوم و هرگز در بزمهای آنان شرکت نکنم.

⁵Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

⁵ وقتی شخص نیک مرا سرزنش می‌کند برایم افتخار است، ولی احترام را از مردم شریر نمی‌پذیرم بلکه به‌خاطر کارهای زشتشان، پیوسته علیه آنان دعا می‌کنم.

⁶When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

⁶ وقتی رهبران آنها از صخره‌ها پرتاب شوند و استخوانهای آنها تکه‌تکه شده به هر سو پراکنده گردد، آنگاه مردم به حقیقت سخنان من پی خواهند برد.

⁷Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.

⁷ امّا ای خداوند متعال، چشم من به سوی توست. به درگاه تو پناه می‌آورم، مرا بی‌پشت و پناه مگذار.

⁸But mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

⁸ مرا از دامی که برای من گسترده‌اند و از دسیسهٔ بدکاران محافظت فرما. مردم شریر را به دام خودشان گرفتار کن و مرا بسلامت برهان!

⁹Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

⁹ مردم شریر را به دام خودشان گرفتار کن و مرا بسلامت برهان!

¹⁰Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.
