¹Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

¹ خداوندا، ای نگهدارندهٔ من، به درگاهت زاری می‌کنم دعایم را بشنو، زیرا اگر به من جواب ندهی، مانند مردگان خواهم بود.

²Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.

² وقتی دستهای خود را به سوی معبد مقدّس تو بلند می‌کنم و با التماس درخواست کمک می‌کنم، دعای مرا مستجاب فرما.

³Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.

³ مرا جزو شریران و بدکاران حساب مکن، آنانی که با همسایگان خود دوستانه حرف می‌زنند، امّا در دلشان قصد آزار آنها را دارند.

⁴Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.

⁴ مطابق کارها و شرارتهایشان، آنها را مجازات کن برای کارهای زشتی که انجام داده‌اند، به آنها مطابق كارهایشان جزا بده.

⁵Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.

⁵ آنها به کارهای خداوند و آنچه که او آفریده است توجّه نمی‌کنند، بنابراین او آنها را مجازات نموده و برای همیشه نابود خواهد کرد.

⁶Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.

⁶ خداوند را سپاس می‌گویم، او درخواست کمک مرا شنیده است.

⁷The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

⁷ خداوند قوّت و سپر من است. من بر او توکّل می‌کنم. او مرا یاری می‌کند و خوشحال می‌سازد، او را با سرودهای شادی سپاس می‌خوانم.

⁸The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.

⁸ خداوند قوم خود را حمایت می‌کند، و از برگزیدهٔ خود پشتیبانی می‌نماید. خداوندا، قوم خود را نجات بده و آنانی را که از آن تو هستند برکت بده، شبان آنان باش، و از آنها همیشه نگهداری فرما.

⁹Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.
