¹Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.

¹ ای خداوند، با دشمنان من دشمنی کن و با کسانی‌که با من می‌جنگند، بجنگ.

²Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.

² زره به تن کن و سپرت را بردار و به کمک من بیا.

³Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.

³ شمشیر و گُرزت را بگیر و به مقابلهٔ دشمنان برو. قول بده که مرا نجات خواهی داد.

⁴Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

⁴ آنانی که قصد کشتن من را دارند، شرمنده و رسوا ساز؛ و کسانی را که بدخواه من می‌باشند به عقب بران و خجل گردان.

⁵Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.

⁵ مانند کاه در برابر باد پراکنده گردند و فرشتهٔ خداوند آنها را برانَد.

⁶Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.

⁶ هنگامی‌که فرشتهٔ خداوند آنان را تعقیب می‌کند، راهشان تاریک و لغزنده گردد.

⁷For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.

⁷ بی‌دلیل برای من دام گسترده‌اند و بی‌سبب در راه من چاه کنده‌اند.

⁸Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.

⁸ بلای ناگهانی بر سرشان فرود آید و به دامی که برای من گسترده‌اند خودشان گرفتار و هلاک گردند.

⁹And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.

⁹ آنگاه به‌خاطر کارهای خداوند شادمان می‌گردم، زیرا او مرا نجات داده است،

¹⁰All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?

¹⁰ از صمیم دل خواهم گفت: «خداوندا، هیچ‌کس مانند تو نیست. ضعیفان را از دست زورمندان و بینوایان را از دست تاراجگران رهایی می‌بخشی.»

¹¹False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.

¹¹ شاهدان بداندیش علیه من برخاسته و مرا به کاری که از آن خبر ندارم متّهم می‌سازند.

¹²They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.

¹² نیکی مرا با بدی جبران می‌کنند و من ناامید می‌شوم.

¹³But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.

¹³ امّا وقتی آنها بیمار بودند من لباس ماتم به تن کرده، روزه گرفتم. با گردن خمیده دعا نمودم.

¹⁴I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.

¹⁴ مانند کسی‌که برای یک دوست یا برادر خود غصّه می‌خورد، یا مانند کسی‌که در سوگ مادر خود ماتم می‌گیرد، برای ایشان ماتم گرفتم.

¹⁵But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:

¹⁵ امّا وقتی‌که من در مشکلی گرفتار شدم، آنان همگی خوشحال بودند، به دور من جمع شدند تا مرا مسخره کنند، و حتّی کسانی‌که نمی‌شناختم، از بدرفتاری با من دست برنداشتند.

¹⁶With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

¹⁶ با بی‌شرمی بسیار مسخره‌‌ام کردند و با نفرت بر من خیره شدند.

¹⁷Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.

¹⁷ ای خداوند، تا به کی فقط نظاره‌گر خواهی بود؟ مرا از حملهٔ آنان رهایی بده مرا از چنگال این شیرهای درّنده نجات بده.

¹⁸I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.

¹⁸ آنگاه در برابر انبوه مردم تو را ستایش خواهم نمود و در مقابل جماعت تو را سپاس خواهم گفت.

¹⁹Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.

¹⁹ نگذار آنهایی که بی‌جهت با من دشمنی می‌کنند، با خوشحالی مرا مسخره کنند، و آنانی که بی‌سبب به من کینه می‌ورزند، مرا تحقیر نمایند.

²⁰For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.

²⁰ آنها رفتاری دوستانه ندارند، بلکه برضد کسانی‌که صلح دوست هستند، تهمت می‌زنند.

²¹Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.

²¹ آنها مرا متّهم ساخته می‌گویند: «ما با چشمان خود کارهای تو را دیدیم.»

²²This thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.

²² امّا تو ای خداوند، از همه‌چیز آگاهی، پس خاموش منشین و مرا ترک مکن.

²³Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.

²³ ای خداوند و ای خدای من، برخیز و از من دفاع کن و به داد من برس.

²⁴Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.

²⁴ خداوندا تو عادل هستی، پس بی‌گناهی مرا ثابت کن، مگذار دشمنانم به‌خاطر من شادی کنند.

²⁵Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.

²⁵ مگذار که آنها در دل خود بگویند: «ما به منظور خود رسیدیم.» و یا بگویند: «ما او را شکست دادیم.»

²⁶Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.

²⁶ آنهایی که از ناکامی من خوشحال می‌شوند، شرمنده و خجل گردند و کسانی‌که خود را از من برتر می‌‌داند و فخر می‌کنند، سرافکنده و رسوا شوند.

²⁷Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

²⁷ کسانی‌که خواهان بی‌گناهی من هستند فریاد شادی برآورند و پیوسته بگویند: «خداوند بزرگ است! و خواهان موفّقیّت خادم خود می‌باشد.» آنگاه عدالت تو را بیان خواهم کرد و تمام روز تو را سپاس خواهم خواند.

²⁸And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

²⁸ آنگاه عدالت تو را بیان خواهم کرد و تمام روز تو را سپاس خواهم خواند.
