¹Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

¹ به‌خاطر مردم شریر خود را ناراحت نکن، و بر آنها حسادت مکن.

²For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

² آنها بزودی مانند علف پژمرده و خشک می‌شوند و از بین می‌روند.

³Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

³ بر خداوند توکّل نما و نیكویی کن تا در زمین در امنیّت زندگی کنی.

⁴Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

⁴ شادمانی خود را در خداوند جستجو کن و او خواهش دلت را برآورده خواهد ساخت.

⁵Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

⁵ خودت را به خداوند بسپار و بر او اعتماد کن. او تو را کمک خواهد کرد.

⁶And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

⁶ او بی‌گناهی تو را مانند روز روشن، آشکار خواهد نمود.

⁷Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

⁷ در حضور خداوند ساکت باش و با صبر منتظر کار او باش. نگران کسانی‌که با حیله‌گری در زندگی موفّق می‌شوند، نباش.

⁸Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

⁸ از خشم و غضب دوری کن تا به گناه گرفتار نگردی.

⁹For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

⁹ مردم شریر از بین می‌روند، امّا کسانی‌که به خداوند توکّل می‌کنند وارث زمین خواهند شد.

¹⁰For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

¹⁰ شریران خیلی زود نابود خواهند شد، و چون به دنبال آنها بگردی، ایشان را نخواهی یافت.

¹¹But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

¹¹ امّا فروتنان مالک زمین می‌شوند و از برکات آن بهره‌مند خواهند گردید.

¹²The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

¹² شریر برای نیكوکار دسیسه می‌چیند و با نفرت بر او خیره می‌شود.

¹³The LORD shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

¹³ امّا خداوند به مرد شریر می‌‌خندد، چون می‌‌‌بیند که روز نابودی او فرا می‌رسد.

¹⁴The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.

¹⁴ شریران شمشیر به دست گرفته، تیر و کمان خود را آماده کرده‌اند تا فقیران و نیازمندان را بکشند و نیکوکاران را هلاک سازند.

¹⁵Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

¹⁵ امّا شمشیر آنها به قلب خودشان فرو می‌رود و کمانشان خرد می‌شود.

¹⁶A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

¹⁶ دارایی اندک شخص درستکار، بهتر است از ثروت سرشار اشخاص شریر.

¹⁷For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.

¹⁷ زیرا خداوند بازوی شریران را می‌شکند و نیكوکاران را سرفراز می‌سازد.

¹⁸The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

¹⁸ خداوند از کسانی‌که مطیع او هستند، مراقبت می‌کند. آنها را وارث زمین می‌سازد.

¹⁹They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

¹⁹ در روزهای سختی از آنها نگه‌داری می‌کند و در زمان قحطی، خوراک فراوان به آنها می‌دهد.

²⁰But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

²⁰ امّا مردم شریر هلاک می‌شوند. دشمنان خداوند مانند گُلهای صحرایی بزودی پژمرده می‌گردند و مثل دود در هوا محو می‌شوند.

²¹The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

²¹ شریر قرض می‌گیرد، ولی پس نمی‌دهد. امّا شخص نیکوکار سخاوتمند و بخشنده است.

²²For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.

²² آنهایی را که خداوند برکت داده است، وارث زمین خواهند شد، لیکن کسانی را که لعنت کرده است، از بین خواهند رفت.

²³The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

²³ خداوند از آنانی که رضایت دارد، حمایت می‌کند و آنان را به راهی که باید بروند، هدایت می‌نماید.

²⁴Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

²⁴ اگر بلغزند نخواهند افتاد، زیرا خداوند دست آنها را می‌گیرد.

²⁵I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

²⁵ از جوانی تا به امروز که پیر شده‌ام، به یاد ندارم که خداوند درستکاران را فراموش کرده باشد، و یا فرزندان آنها دست به گدایی دراز کرده باشند.

²⁶He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

²⁶ او پیوسته با سخاوت می‌بخشد و به دیگران قرض می‌دهد، و فرزندان ایشان متبارک خواهند بود.

²⁷Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.

²⁷ از بدی بپرهیز و نیکی را دنبال کن تا پایدار گردی،

²⁸For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

²⁸ زیرا خداوند راستی را دوست می‌دارد و وفادارن خود را از یاد نمی‌برد. او آنان را همیشه حمایت می‌کند، امّا فرزندان شریران نابود خواهند شد.

²⁹The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

²⁹ مردم صالح وارث زمین خواهند شد و همیشه در آنجا زندگی خواهند كرد.

³⁰The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

³⁰ گفتار شخص نیکو حکیمانه است و او همیشه از روی انصاف سخن می‌گوید.

³¹The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

³¹ او دستورات خدای خود را در دلش حفظ می‌کند، بنابراین هرگز لغزش نمی‌خورد.

³²The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

³² شریر در پی فرصت است تا شخص نیکو را از بین ببرد،

³³The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

³³ امّا خداوند او را به دست دشمن رها نخواهد كرد و نخواهد گذاشت که در محاکمه محکوم شود.

³⁴Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

³⁴ بر خداوند امیدوار باش و اوامر او را اطاعت نما. او تو را مالک زمین خواهد ساخت و سرفراز خواهد كرد و تو نابودی شریران را خواهی دید.

³⁵I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.

³⁵ مرد شریری را می‌‌شناختم که بسیار ظالم بود؛ و مانند درخت سرو لبنان به هر سو چنگ انداخته بود.

³⁶Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

³⁶ امّا بعد از مدّتی وقتی از آنجا می‌گذشتم او را ندیدم و هرقدر جستجو کردم، او را نیافتم.

³⁷Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

³⁷ شخص نیکو و درستکار را ملاحظه نما، او عاقبتِ نیک و آسوده‌ای دارد.

³⁸But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

³⁸ امّا شریر بکلّی نابود می‌شود و نسلش از بین خواهد رفت.

³⁹But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

³⁹ خداوند اشخاص نیکو را نجات می‌بخشد و در هنگام مشکلات، پناهگاه آنان می‌باشد. خداوند آنها را کمک می‌کند و از شرّ شریران رهایی می‌دهد، زیرا به او پناه می‌آورند.

⁴⁰And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

⁴⁰ خداوند آنها را کمک می‌کند و از شرّ شریران رهایی می‌دهد، زیرا به او پناه می‌آورند.
