¹Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

¹ خدایا به‌خاطر محبّت پایدار خود بر من رحم کن، و از روی کرم بی‌پایانت گناهان مرا ببخش.

²Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

² مرا از گناهانم شست‌وشو ده و از خطاهایم پاک ساز.

³For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

³ من به گناهان خود اعتراف می‌کنم و خطاهایی را که کرده‌‌ام در نظر دارم.

⁴Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

⁴ من علیه تو ای خداوند، بلی تنها علیه تو گناه کرده‌‌ام، و آنچه را که در نظر تو بد است، انجام داده‌ام. اینک تو حق داری که مرا داوری نموده، محکوم سازی.

⁵Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

⁵ من از روزی که به دنیا آمدم گناهکار بودم، از همان لحظه‌ای که نطفه‌ام در رحم مادرم بسته شد، به گناه آلوده بودم.

⁶Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

⁶ تو طرفدار صداقت و راستی هستی، پس فکر مرا از حکمت پُر ساز.

⁷Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

⁷ گناه مرا از من دور کن تا پاک شوم. مرا بشوی تا از برف سفیدتر گردم.

⁸Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

⁸ بگذار تا صدای خوشی و لذّت را بشنوم؛ با وجودی که مرا کوبیده‌ و خُرد کرده‌ای، بار دیگر شاد خواهم بود.

⁹Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

⁹ از گناهانم چشم بپوش و خطاهایم را ببخش.

¹⁰Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

¹⁰ خدایا، دل پاک در من بیافرین و باطنم را با روح راستی تازه گردان.

¹¹Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

¹¹ مرا از حضور خود مران و روح پاکت را از من مگیر.

¹²Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

¹² شادی نجات را به من بازگردان و شوق اطاعت از اوامرت را در من ایجاد نما.

¹³Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

¹³ آنگاه احکام تو را به خطاکاران خواهم آموخت و آنان به سوی تو باز خواهند گشت.

¹⁴Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

¹⁴ ای خدایی که نجات‌دهندهٔ من هستی، مرا از خونریزی دور کن، تا زبانم بار دیگر سرود عدالت تو را بسراید.

¹⁵O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

¹⁵ خداوندا، به من قدرت بیان عطا فرما تا تو را ستایش کنم.

¹⁶For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.

¹⁶ تو قربانی نخواستی، وگرنه تقدیم می‌کردم. قربانی‌های سوختنی را نمی‌پسندی،

¹⁷The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

¹⁷ خدایا، قربانی من، دل شکستهٔ من است، تو دل شکسته و روح توبه‌کار را خوار نخواهی شمرد.

¹⁸Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.

¹⁸ خداوندا، بر صهیون لطف کن و دیوارهای اورشلیم را دوباره بنا نما. آنگاه از قربانی‌های کامل و مناسب خشنود خواهی شد و قربانی‌های سوختنی و گاوها بر قربانگاه، قربانی خواهند شد.

¹⁹Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

¹⁹ آنگاه از قربانی‌های کامل و مناسب خشنود خواهی شد و قربانی‌های سوختنی و گاوها بر قربانگاه، قربانی خواهند شد.
