¹I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

¹ خداوندا، من همیشه ستایشگر محبّت پایدار تو هستم. وفاداری تو را به همه‌کس بیان خواهم کرد.

²For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.

² زیرا محبّت پایدار تو ابدی و پیمان و وفای تو همچون آسمانها پایدار است.

³I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,

³ تو فرمودی: «با برگزیدهٔ خود پیمان بسته‌ام و برای بندهٔ خود داوود، قسم خورده‌ام،

⁴Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

⁴ که همیشه یک نفر از نسل تو پادشاه خواهد بود و نسل تو تا ابد برقرار خواهد ماند.»

⁵And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.

⁵ خداوندا، آسمانها عجایب تو را بیان می‌کنند و وفاداری تو در جماعت مؤمنین ستایش می‌شود.

⁶For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?

⁶ کیست که در آسمانها بتواند خود را با تو مقایسه کند؟ در میان موجودات آسمانی چه کسی مانند خداوند است؟

⁷God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

⁷ جمیع مقدّسان از تو می‌ترسند و همه در پیشگاه تو با احترام می‌ایستند.

⁸O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?

⁸ ای خداوند، خدای متعال، هیچ‌کس به توانایی تو نیست! تو در همه‌چیز وفاداری.

⁹Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

⁹ تو بر دریاها تسلّط داری و امواج خروشان آن را آرام می‌سازی.

¹⁰Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.

¹⁰ تو هیولای رهب، را درهم کوبیدی و کُشتی، با قدرت عظیم خود، دشمنانت را شکست دادی.

¹¹The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

¹¹ آسمان و زمین از آن توست، تو جهان و هرچه در آن است را آفریدی.

¹²The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.

¹² شمال و جنوب را تو به وجود آوردی. کوههای تابور و حرمون، با شادی تو را ستایش می‌کنند.

¹³Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.

¹³ تو چقدر نیرومند هستی! دست و بازوی تو بسیار تواناست!

¹⁴Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.

¹⁴ عدالت و انصاف، اساس پادشاهی تو و محبّت پایدار و وفاداری، شیوهٔ کار توست.

¹⁵Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

¹⁵ خوشا به حال مردمی که می‌دانند چگونه برای تو سرود بخوانند، آنان در پرتو نور رحمت تو ساکن می‌شوند.

¹⁶In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.

¹⁶ به‌خاطر تو تمام روز شادی می‌نمایند و نیکویی تو را می‌سرایند.

¹⁷For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.

¹⁷ تو به ما قدرت بخشیدی، در محبّت خود ما را پیروز می‌گردانی.

¹⁸For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.

¹⁸ ای ‌خداوند، تو نگهبان ما را انتخاب کردی، تو پادشاه ما را برگزیدی.

¹⁹Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

¹⁹ سالها پیش در رؤیا با بندهٔ وفادار خود صحبت کردی و فرمودی: «تاج را بر سر شخص شجاعی گذاشتم و مردی را از بین مردم بر تخت شاهی نشاندم.

²⁰I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:

²⁰ بندهٔ خود، داوود را به پادشاهی برگزیدم و او را با روغن مقدّس مسح کردم.

²¹With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.

²¹ به او نیرو و توانایی می‌بخشم و با قدرت خود او را قوّت خواهم بخشید.

²²The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

²² دشمنانش بر او پیروز نخواهند شد و شریران به او صدمه‏‌ای نخواهند زد.

²³And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.

²³ دشمنانش را در برابر چشمان او سرکوب می‌کنم، و کسانی را که از او نفرت دارند، هلاک خواهم کرد.

²⁴But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

²⁴ محبّت پایدار و وفاداری من با او خواهد بود و همیشه او را پیروز خواهم نمود.

²⁵I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

²⁵ فرمانروایی او را از دریای مدیترانه تا رود فرات وسعت خواهم بخشید.

²⁶He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

²⁶ او به من خواهد گفت: 'تو پدر من، و خدای من هستی، تو پشتیبان و نجات‌دهندهٔ من می‌‌باشی.'

²⁷Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

²⁷ من او را پسر نخستزادهٔ خود خواهم ساخت و او را مقتدرترین پادشاه روی زمین خواهم ساخت.

²⁸My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

²⁸ همیشه او را از محبّت پایدار خود بهره‌مند خواهم كرد، و پیمان من با او پیمان ابدی است.

²⁹His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

²⁹ خاندان او تا به ابد پایدار و پادشاهی او همچون آسمان برای همیشه پابرجا خواهد بود.

³⁰If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;

³⁰ «امّا اگر فرزندان او از احکام من سرپیچی نمایند و مطابق اوامر من رفتار نکنند،

³¹If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;

³¹ اگر به راهنمایی‌های من بی‌توجّهی کنند و یا دستورات مرا انجام ندهند،

³²Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

³² آنگاه آنها را به‌خاطر گناهانشان تنبیه و مجازات خواهم كرد.

³³Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.

³³ ولی داوود را از محبّت خود محروم نخواهم كرد و قولی را که به او داده‌ام، از یاد نخواهم برد.

³⁴My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

³⁴ من پیمان خود را نخواهم شكست و از گفتهٔ خود پشیمان نخواهم شد.

³⁵Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

³⁵ «به ذات اقدس خود قسم خورده‌ام و به او دروغ نمی‌گویم،

³⁶His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.

³⁶ خاندان او تا به ابد باقی، و پادشاهی او تا زمانی که خورشید می‌تابد، استوار خواهد بود،

³⁷It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

³⁷ مانند ماه که شاهد باوفای آسمان است، او همیشه پایدار خواهد بود.»

³⁸But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.

³⁸ امّا اکنون بر پادشاه برگزیده‌ات خشمناک هستی و او را ترک نموده‌ای.

³⁹Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

³⁹ پیمان خود را با بنده‌ات شکسته‌ای و تاج او را بر زمین زده‌ای.

⁴⁰Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.

⁴⁰ دیوارهای شهر او را ویران کرده و قلعه‏‌هایش را به خرابه تبدیل نموده‌ای.

⁴¹All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.

⁴¹ رهگذران دارایی او را تاراج می‌کنند و همسایگانش او را مسخره می‌نمایند.

⁴²Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.

⁴² به دشمنانش پیروزی داده‌ای و آنها را شادمان ساخته‌ای.

⁴³Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.

⁴³ شمشیرش را کُند ساخته و در میدان جنگ به او کمک نکردی.

⁴⁴Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.

⁴⁴ عصای سلطنت را از او گرفتی و تختش را سرنگون ساختی.

⁴⁵The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.

⁴⁵ پیش از وقت، او را به پیری رساندی و نزد مردم او را رسوا نمودی.

⁴⁶How long, LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?

⁴⁶ آیا برای همیشه خود را از من پنهان می‌کنی؟ تا به کی آتش خشمت فروزان خواهد بود؟

⁴⁷Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain?

⁴⁷ خداوندا، به یاد آور که عمر ما بسیار کوتاه است، و تو تمام انسانها را فانی آفریده‌ای.

⁴⁸What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.

⁴⁸ چه کسی می‌تواند خود را از چنگال مرگ برهاند؟ کیست آن کسی‌که بتواند از رفتن به گور خودداری کند؟

⁴⁹Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, which thou swarest unto David in thy truth?

⁴⁹ خداوندا، آن محبّتی که از اول به ما داشتی، چه شد؟ کجاست آن پیمانی که با کمال وفاداری با داوود بستی؟

⁵⁰Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;

⁵⁰ خداوندا، ببین که مردم چگونه به من که خادم تو هستم توهین می‌کنند و چطور اهانتهای کافران را تحمّل می‌کنم!

⁵¹Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.

⁵¹ دشمنان تو، پادشاه برگزیدهٔ تو را مسخره می‌کنند و هر کجا که می‌رود، به او اهانت می‌کنند. خداوند تا به ابد متبارک باد! آمین و آمین!

⁵²Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
