¹And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.

¹ فرشته‌ای که با من صحبت می‌کرد آمد و مرا مانند شخصی که خوابیده باشد، بیدار کرد

²And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:

² و از من پرسید: «چه می‌بینی؟» من پاسخ دادم: «یک چراغدان طلایی می‌بینم که دارای هفت چراغ می‌باشد و در سر آن روغندانی است که به وسیلهٔ هفت لوله به چراغها روغن می‌رسانند.

³And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.

³ ‌دو درخت زیتون، یکی به طرف راست و دیگری به طرف چپ چراغدان قرار دارند.»

⁴So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?

⁴ ‌از فرشته‌ای که با من صحبت می‌کرد پرسیدم: «ای آقای من، اینها برای چه در اینجا هستند؟»

⁵Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

⁵ او گفت: «آیا دلیلش را نمی‌دانی؟» گفتم: «نه، نمی‌دانم.»

⁶Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

⁶ (ب) سپس فرشته گفت: «این هفت چراغدان نشانه‌ای هستند از چشمان خداوند که تمام جهان را زیر نظر دارد»

⁷Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

⁷ سپس پرسیدم: «آن دو درخت ‌زیتون که در سمت راست و چپ چراغدان هستند،

⁸Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

⁸ و نیز دو شاخهٔ زیتون در پهلوی دو لولهٔ طلایی که از آنها روغن می‌ریزد، چیستند؟»

⁹The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

⁹ پرسید: «آیا نمی‌دانی؟» پاسخ دادم: «خیر، آقایم، نمی‌دانم.»

¹⁰For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

¹⁰ فرشته گفت: «اینها دو شخصی هستند که خدا، مالک تمام جهان آنها را برگزیده و مسح کرده تا خدمتگزار او باشند.»

¹¹Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?

¹¹ فرشته گفت: «این پیام خداوند متعال را به زروبابل برسان که می‌فرماید: با قدرت نظامی و یا با قدرت خودت نمی‌توانی پیروز شوی، بلکه با کمک روح من می‌توانی موفّق شوی.

¹²And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?

¹² اگر موانع همچون کوه بلند باشند، از سر راه تو برداشته می‌شوند. تو معبد بزرگ مرا بازسازی می‌کنی و هنگامی‌که آخرین سنگ بنا را بگذاری، مردم از خوشی فریاد می‌زنند و می‌گویند: فیض و برکت خدا بر آن باد!»

¹³And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

¹³ پیام دیگری از جانب خداوند برای من رسید و فرمود:

¹⁴Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the LORD of the whole earth.

¹⁴ «دستهای زروبابل بنیاد این خانه را گذاشته و دستهای او نیز آن را تمام خواهد کرد. آنگاه خواهید دانست که خداوند متعال مرا پیش شما فرستاده است. در ابتدا، مردم از اینکه کار ساختمان خانهٔ من پیشرفت چندانی نکرده است، ناامید می‌شوند، امّا هنگامی زروبابل را ببینند که به ساختن خانه ادامه می‌دهد، شادمان می‌گردند.»

¹⁵ در ابتدا، مردم از اینکه کار ساختمان خانهٔ من پیشرفت چندانی نکرده است، ناامید می‌شوند، امّا هنگامی زروبابل را ببینند که به ساختن خانه ادامه می‌دهد، شادمان می‌گردند.»
