¹Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!

¹ وای به حال اورشلیم سرکش، شهر آلوده و ستمگر.

²She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.

² به صدای خداوند گوش نمی‌دهد و نصیحت نمی‌پذیرد. به خداوند اعتماد نمی‌کند و از او کمک نمی‌طلبد.

³Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.

³ حاکمان آن مانند شیرهای غرّان و قضات آن مثل گرگهای گرسنهٔ شب هستند که از شکار خود تا صبح چیزی باقی نمی‌گذارند.

⁴Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.

⁴ انبیای آن خودخواه و فاسد می‌باشند، کاهنانش مقدّسات را بی‌حرمت می‌سازند و از احکام خداوند تجاوز می‌نمایند.

⁵The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.

⁵ خداوند هنوز هم در آن شهر حضور دارد. او عادل و با انصاف است و بی‌عدالتی نمی‌کند. هر بامداد عدالت خود را به مردم نشان می‌دهد، امّا با وجود این، بدکاران با بی‌شرمی به کارهای شرم آور خود ادامه می‌دهند.

⁶I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.

⁶ خداوند می‌فرماید: «من اقوام زیادی را از بین برده‌ام. شهرهایشان را ویران و دیوارها و بُرجهای آنها را خراب کرده‌ام. شهرها متروک و کوچه‌ها خالی شده‌اند و یک نفر هم باقی نمانده است.

⁷I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.

⁷ گفتم شاید مردم از من بترسند و به نصایح من گوش کنند و آنچه به آنها تعلیم داده‌ام، فراموش نکنند، امّا آنها توجّهی نکردند و به کارهای فاسد خود ادامه دادند.»

⁸Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

⁸ خداوند می‌فرماید: «صبر کنید، روزی که علیه اقوام جهان برخیزم و آنها را محکوم سازم بزودی می‌رسد. من تصمیم گرفته‌ام که تمام ملل و همهٔ سلطنت‌ها را جمع کنم و خشم خود را بر آنها بریزم. تمام دنیا در آتش غیرت من گداخته خواهد شد.

⁹For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

⁹ «آنگاه به مردم جهان زبان پاک عطا می‌کنم تا فقط نام مرا یاد کنند و تنها مرا بپرستند.

¹⁰From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.

¹⁰ قوم پراکندهٔ من از آن‌سوی رودهای حبشه با هدایای خود برای عبادت من خواهند آمد.

¹¹In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.

¹¹ در آن زمان شما ای قوم من، دیگر از سرکشی‌ها و کارهایی که علیه من کرده‌‌اید، شرمنده نمی‌شوید. تمام مردم متکبّر و خودخواه را از میان شما دور می‌کنم. بعد از آن دیگر در کوه مقدّس من غرور و تکبّر وجود نخواهد داشت.

¹²I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.

¹² در آنجا کسانی‌که فروتن و متواضع هستند و به من پناه می‌آورند، باقی خواهند ماند.

¹³The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

¹³ آنهایی که در اسرائیل باقی می‌مانند، دیگر به کارهای زشت دست نمی‌زنند، دروغ نمی‌گویند، فریب نمی‌دهند، بلکه در کامیابی و امنیّت زندگی می‌کنند و کسی نمی‌تواند آنها را بترساند.»

¹⁴Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

¹⁴ ای قوم اسرائیل، سرود بخوانید و شادی کنید! ای اورشلیم، از صمیم قلب آواز شادمانی را بلند کن!

¹⁵The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.

¹⁵ خداوند از مجازات تو صرف نظر کرده و دشمنانت را شکست داده است. خداوند، پادشاه اسرائیل، همراه توست و دیگر از چیزی نخواهی ترسید.

¹⁶In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.

¹⁶ در آن روز به صهیون می‌گویند: «نترس! دلیر و قوی باش!

¹⁷The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

¹⁷ خداوند خدایت با تو می‌باشد؛ قدرت او تو را پیروز خواهد کرد. خداوند از تو خشنود است. و در عشق خود به تو زندگی تازه خواهد داد.»

¹⁸I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.

¹⁸ خداوند می‌فرماید: «من بلایا را از شما دور می‌سازم، و شما را از پریشانی بیرون می‌آورم.

¹⁹Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.

¹⁹ روز جزای کسانی‌که بر تو ظلم کرده‌اند فرا می‌رسد. مردمان لنگ را نجات می‌دهم و تبعیدشدگان را به وطنشان بازمی‌گردانم. ننگشان را به عزّت و افتخار تبدیل می‌کنم و آن وقت تمام دنیا آنها را تحسین می‌کنند. در آن زمان همهٔ شما را به خانه می‌آورم، شما را در جهان مشهور می‌سازم و دوباره شما را کامیاب می‌گردانم.» این را خداوند فرموده است.

²⁰At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.

²⁰ در آن زمان همهٔ شما را به خانه می‌آورم، شما را در جهان مشهور می‌سازم و دوباره شما را کامیاب می‌گردانم.» این را خداوند فرموده است.
