¹Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.

¹,,Tăceţi, ostroave, şi ascultaţi-Mă! Să-şi învioreze popoarele puterea, să înainteze, şi să vorbească! Să ne apropiem şi să ne judecăm împreună.

²Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.

²Cine a ridicat dela răsărit pe acela pe care, în neprihănirea Lui, îl cheamă să calce pe urmele Lui? Cine îi supune neamuri şi împăraţi? Cine le face sabia praf, şi arcul o pleavă luată de vînt?

³He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet.

³El îi urmăreşte, merge în pace pe un drum pe care n'a mai călcat nici odată cu piciorul lui.

⁴Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.

⁴Cine a făcut şi a împlinit aceste lucruri? Acela care a chemat neamurile dela început, Eu, Domnul, cel dintîi şi Acelaş pînă în cele din urmă veacuri.

⁵The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.

⁵Ostroavele văd lucrul acesta şi se tem, capetele pămîntului tremură: se apropie şi vin.

⁶They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.

⁶Se ajută unul pe altul, şi fiecare zice fratelui său: ,Fii cu inimă!`

⁷So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.

⁷Lemnarul îmbărbătează pe argintar; celce lustruieşte cu ciocanul îmbărbătează pe celce bate pe nicovală, zicînd despre îmbinare: ,Este bună!` şi ţintuieşte idolul în cuie ca să nu se clatine.``

⁸But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.

⁸Dar tu, Israele, robul Meu, Iacove, pe care te-am ales, sămînţa lui Avraam, prietenul Meu,

⁹Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.

⁹tu, pe care te-am luat dela marginile pămîntului, şi pe care te-am chemat dintr'o ţară depărtată, căruia ţi-am zis: ,,Tu eşti robul Meu, te aleg, şi nu te lepăd!``

¹⁰Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

¹⁰nu te teme, căci Eu sînt cu tine; nu te uita cu îngrijorare, căci Eu sînt Dumnezeul tău; Eu te întăresc, tot Eu îţi vin în ajutor. Eu te sprijinesc cu dreapta Mea biruitoare.

¹¹Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.

¹¹Iată, înfruntaţi, şi acoperiţi de ruşine, vor fi toţi ceice sînt mîniaţi pe tine; vor fi nimiciţi şi vor pieri, ceice ţi se împotrivesc.

¹²Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.

¹²Îi vei căuta, şi nu -i vei mai găsi, pe ceice se certau cu tine; vor fi nimiciţi, vor fi perduţi cei ce se războiau cu tine.

¹³For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

¹³Căci Eu sînt Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, care te iau de mîna dreaptă şi-ţi zic: ,,Nu te teme de nimic, Eu îţi vin în ajutor!

¹⁴Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁴Nu te teme de nimic, vermele lui Iacov, şi rămăşiţă slabă a lui Israel; căci Eu îţi vin în ajutor, -zice Domnul, -şi Sfîntul lui Israel este Mîntuitorul tău.

¹⁵Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.

¹⁵Iată, te fac o sanie ascuţită, nouă de tot, cu mulţi dinţi; vei zdrobi, vei sfărîma munţii, şi vei face dealurile ca pleava.

¹⁶Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁶Le vei vîntura, şi le va lua vîntul, şi un vîrtej le va risipi, dar tu, te vei bucura în Domnul, te vei făli cu Sfîntul lui Israel.

¹⁷When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

¹⁷Cei nenorociţi şi cei lipsiţi caută apă, şi nu este; li se usucă limba de sete. Eu, Domnul, îi voi asculta; Eu, Dumnezeul lui Israel, nu -i voi părăsi.

¹⁸I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

¹⁸Voi face să izvorască rîuri pe dealuri, şi izvoare în mijlocul văilor; voi preface pustia în iaz, şi pămîntul uscat în şivoaie de ape;

¹⁹I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:

¹⁹voi sădi cedri, salcîmi, mirţi şi măslini în pustie; voi pune chiparoşi, ulmi, şi merişori turceşti la un loc în pustie,

²⁰That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

²⁰ca să vadă cu toţii şi să ştie, să priceapă şi să înţeleagă că mîna Domnului a făcut aceste lucruri, şi Sfîntul lui Israel le -a zidit.``

²¹Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.

²¹,,Apăraţi-vă pricina, -zice Domnul-arătaţi-vă dovezile cele mai tari``, zice Împăratul lui Iacov.

²²Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.

²²,,Să le arate, şi să ne spună ce are să se întîmple; cari sînt proorociile pe cari le-aţi făcut vreodată? Spuneţi, ca să luăm seama la ele, şi să le vedem împlinirea; sau, vestiţi-ne viitorul.

²³Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

²³Spuneţi-ne ce se va întîmpla mai tîrziu, ca să ştim că sînteţi dumnezei, faceţi măcar ceva bun sau rău, ca să vedem şi să privim cu toţii.

²⁴Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.

²⁴Iată că nu sînteţi nimic şi lucrarea voastră este nimic; o scîrbă este cine vă alege pe voi.

²⁵I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.

²⁵Am sculat pe cineva dela miazănoapte, şi vine dela răsărit; el cheamă Numele Meu; trece peste voivozi ca pe noroi şi -i calcă în picioare cum calcă olarul lutul.

²⁶Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.

²⁶Cine a vestit lucrul acesta dela început, ca să -l ştim, şi cu mult înainte, ca să zicem: ,Are dreptate?` Nimeni nu l -a vestit, nimeni nu l -a proorocit, şi nimeni n'a auzit cuvintele voastre.

²⁷The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings.

²⁷Eu, Cel dintîi, am zis Sionului: ,Iată -i, iată -i!` Şi Ierusalimului: ,Îţi trimet un vestitor de veşti bune!`

²⁸For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word.

²⁸Căci Mă uit, şi nu este nimeni, nimeni între ei care să proorocească şi care să poată răspunde, dacă -l voi întreba.

²⁹Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.

²⁹Iată că toţi sînt nimic, lucrările lor sînt zădarnice, idolii lor sînt o suflare goală!``
