¹I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

¹Eu sînt adevărata viţă, şi Tatăl Meu este vierul.

²Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

²Pe orice mlădiţă, care este în Mine şi n'aduce roadă, El o taie; şi pe orice mlădiţă care aduce roadă, o curăţeşte, ca să aducă şi mai multă roadă.

³Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

³Acum voi sînteţi curaţi, din pricina cuvîntului, pe care vi l-am spus.

⁴Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

⁴Rămîneţi în Mine, şi Eu voi rămînea în voi. Dupăcum mlădiţa nu poate aduce roadă dela sine, dacă nu rămîne în viţă, tot aşa nici voi nu puteţi aduceţi roadă, dacă nu rămîneţi în Mine.

⁵I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

⁵Eu sînt Viţa, voi sînteţi mlădiţele. Cine rămîne în Mine, şi în cine rămîn Eu, aduce multă roadă; căci despărţiţi de Mine, nu puteţi face nimic.

⁶If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

⁶Dacă nu rămîne cineva în Mine, este aruncat afară, ca mlădiţa neroditoare, şi se usucă; apoi mlădiţele uscate sînt strînse, aruncate în foc, şi ard.

⁷If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

⁷Dacă rămîneţi în Mine, şi dacă rămîn în voi cuvintele Mele, cereţi orice veţi vrea, şi vi se va da.

⁸Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

⁸Dacă aduceţi multă roadă, prin aceasta Tatăl Meu va fi proslăvit; şi voi veţi fi astfel ucenicii Mei.

⁹As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

⁹Cum M'a iubit pe Mine Tatăl, aşa v'am iubit şi Eu pe voi. Rămîneţi în dragostea Mea.

¹⁰If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

¹⁰Dacă păziţi poruncile Mele, veţi rămînea în dragostea Mea, după cum şi Eu am păzit poruncile Tatălui Meu, şi rămîn în dragostea Lui.

¹¹These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

¹¹V'am spus aceste lucruri, pentruca bucuria Mea să rămînă în voi, şi bucuria voastră să fie deplină.

¹²This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

¹²Aceasta este porunca Mea: să vă iubiţi unii pe alţii, cum v'am iubit Eu.

¹³Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

¹³Nu este mai mare dragoste decît să-şi dea cineva viaţa pentru prietenii săi.

¹⁴Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

¹⁴Voi sînteţi prietenii Mei, dacă faceţi ce vă poruncesc Eu.

¹⁵Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

¹⁵Nu vă mai numesc robi, pentrucă robul nu ştie ce face stăpînul său; ci v'am numit prieteni, pentrucă v'am făcut cunoscut tot ce am auzit dela Tatăl Meu.

¹⁶Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

¹⁶Nu voi M'aţi ales pe Mine; ci Eu v'am ales pe voi; şi v'am rînduit să mergeţi şi să aduceţi roadă, şi roada voastră să rămînă, pentru ca orice veţi cere dela Tatăl, în Numele Meu, să vă dea.

¹⁷These things I command you, that ye love one another.

¹⁷Vă poruncesc aceste lucruri, ca să vă iubiţi unii pe alţii.

¹⁸If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

¹⁸Dacă vă urăşte lumea, ştiţi că pe Mine M'a urît înaintea voastră.

¹⁹If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

¹⁹Dacă aţi fi din lume, lumea ar iubi ce este al ei; dar, pentrucă nu sînteţi din lume, şi pentrucă Eu v'am ales din mijlocul lumii, de aceea vă urăşte lumea.

²⁰Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

²⁰Aduceţi-vă aminte de vorba, pe care v-am spus -o: ,Robul nu este mai mare decît stăpînul său.` Dacă m'au prigonit pe Mine, şi pe voi vă vor prigoni; dacă au păzit cuvîntul Meu, şi pe al vostru îl vor păzi.

²¹But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

²¹Dar vă vor face toate aceste lucruri pentru Numele Meu, pentrucă ei nu cunosc pe Celce M'a trimes.

²²If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.

²²Dacă n'aş fi venit şi nu le-aş fi vorbit, n'ar avea păcat; dar acum n'au nicio desvinovăţire pentru păcatul lor.

²³He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

²³Cine Mă urăşte pe Mine, urăşte şi pe Tatăl Meu.

²⁴If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

²⁴Dacă n'aş fi făcut între ei lucrări, pe cari nimeni altul nu le -a făcut, n'ar avea păcat; dar acum le-au şi văzut, şi M'au urît şi pe Mine şi pe Tatăl Meu.

²⁵But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

²⁵Dar lucrul acesta s'a întîmplat ca să se împlinească vorba scrisă în Legea lor: ,M'au urît fără temei.`

²⁶But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

²⁶Cînd va veni Mîngîietorul, pe care -L voi trimete dela Tatăl, adică Duhul adevărului, care purcede dela Tatăl, El va mărturisi despre Mine.

²⁷And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

²⁷Şi voi deasemenea veţi mărturisi, pentrucă aţi fost cu Mine dela început.
