¹The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

¹Începutul Evangheliei lui Isus Hristos, Fiul lui Dumnezeu.

²As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

²Dupăcum este scris în proorocul Isaia: ,,Iată, trimet înaintea Ta pe solul Meu, care Îţi va pregăti calea...

³The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

³Glasul celui ce strigă în pustie: ,,Pregătiţi calea Domnului, neteziţi -I cărările,``

⁴John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

⁴a venit Ioan care boteza în pustie, propovăduind botezul pocăinţei spre iertarea păcatelor.

⁵And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

⁵Tot ţinutul Iudeii şi toţi locuitorii Ierusalimului au început să iasă la el; şi, mărturisindu-şi păcatele, erau botezaţi de el în rîul Iordan.

⁶And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;

⁶Ioan era îmbrăcat cu o haină de păr de cămilă, şi împrejurul mijlocului era încins cu un brîu de curea. El se hrănea cu lăcuste şi miere sălbatică.

⁷And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

⁷Ioan propovăduia, şi zicea: ,,După mine vine Cel ce este mai puternic decît mine, căruia eu nu sînt vrednic să mă plec să -I desleg curelele încălţămintelor.

⁸I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

⁸Eu, da, v'am botezat cu apă; dar El vă va boteza cu Duhul Sfînt.``

⁹And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

⁹În vremea aceea, a venit Isus din Nazaretul Galileii, şi a fost botezat de Ioan în Iordan.

¹⁰And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

¹⁰Şi îndată, cînd ieşea Isus din apă, el a văzut cerurile deschise, şi Duhul pogorîndu-Se peste El ca un porumbel.

¹¹And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

¹¹Şi din ceruri s'a auzit un glas, care zicea: ,,Tu eşti Fiul Meu prea iubit, în Tine îmi găsesc toată plăcerea Mea.``

¹²And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

¹²Îndată Duhul a mînat pe Isus în pustie,

¹³And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

¹³unde a stat patruzeci de zile, fiind ispitit de Satana. Acolo stătea împreună cu fiarele sălbatice şi -I slujeau îngerii.

¹⁴Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

¹⁴După ce a fost închis Ioan, Isus a venit în Galilea, şi propovăduia Evanghelia lui Dumnezeu.

¹⁵And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

¹⁵El zicea: ,,S'a împlinit vremea, şi Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu este aproape. Pocăiţi-vă, şi credeţi în Evanghelie.``

¹⁶Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

¹⁶Pe cînd trecea Isus pe lîngă marea Galileii, a văzut pe Simon şi pe Andrei, fratele lui Simon, aruncînd o mreajă în mare, căci erau pescari.

¹⁷And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

¹⁷Isus le -a zis: ,,Veniţi după Mine, şi vă voi face pescari de oameni.``

¹⁸And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

¹⁸Îndată, ei şi-au lăsat mrejile, şi au mers după El.

¹⁹And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

¹⁹A mers puţin mai departe, şi a văzut pe Iacov, fiul lui Zebedei, şi pe Ioan, fratele lui, cari, şi ei, erau într'o corabie, şi îşi dregeau mrejile.

²⁰And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

²⁰Îndată i -a chemat; şi ei au lăsat pe tatăl lor Zebedei în corabie cu cei ce lucrau pe plată, şi au mers după El.

²¹And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

²¹S'au dus la Capernaum. Şi în ziua Sabatului, Isus a intrat îndată în sinagogă, şi a început să înveţe pe norod.

²²And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

²²Oamenii erau uimiţi de învăţătura Lui; căci îi învăţa ca unul care are putere, nu cum îi învăţau cărturarii.

²³And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

²³În sinagoga lor era un om, care avea un duh necurat. El a început să strige:

²⁴Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

²⁴,,Ce avem noi a face cu Tine, Isuse din Nazaret? Ai venit să ne pierzi? Te ştiu cine eşti: Eşti Sfîntul lui Dumnezeu!``

²⁵And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

²⁵Isus l -a certat, şi i -a zis: ,,Taci, şi ieşi afară din omul acesta!``

²⁶And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

²⁶Şi duhul necurat a ieşit din el, scuturîndu -l cu putere, şi scoţînd un strigăt mare.

²⁷And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

²⁷Toţi au rămas înmărmuriţi, aşa că se întrebau unii pe alţii: ,,Ce este aceasta? O învăţătură nouă! El porunceşte ca un stăpîn chiar şi duhurilor necurate, şi ele Îl ascultă!``

²⁸And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

²⁸Şi îndată I s'a dus vestea în toate împrejurimile Galileii.

²⁹And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

²⁹Dupăce a ieşit din sinagogă, a intrat împreună cu Iacov şi Ioan, în casa lui Simon şi a lui Andrei.

³⁰But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.

³⁰Soacra lui Simon zăcea în pat, prinsă de friguri: şi îndată au vorbit lui Isus despre ea.

³¹And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

³¹El a venit, a apucat -o de mînă, a ridicat -o în sus, şi au lăsat -o frigurile. Apoi ea a început să le slujească.

³²And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

³²Seara, după asfinţitul soarelui, au adus la El pe toţi bolnavii şi îndrăciţii.

³³And all the city was gathered together at the door.

³³Şi toată cetatea era adunată la uşă.

³⁴And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

³⁴El a vindecat pe mulţi cari pătimeau de felurite boale; de asemenea, a scos mulţi draci, şi nu lăsa pe draci să vorbească, pentrucă -L cunoşteau.

³⁵And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

³⁵A doua zi dimineaţa, pe cînd era încă întunerec de tot, Isus S'a sculat, a ieşit, şi S'a dus într'un loc pustiu. Şi Se ruga acolo.

³⁶And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.

³⁶Simon şi ceilalţi cari erau cu El s'au dus să -L caute;

³⁷And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.

³⁷şi cînd L-au găsit, I-au zis: ,,Toţi Te caută.``

³⁸And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

³⁸El le -a răspuns: ,,Haidem să mergem în altă parte, prin tîrgurile şi satele vecine, ca să propovăduiesc şi acolo; căci pentru aceasta am ieşit.``

³⁹And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

³⁹Şi s'a dus să propovăduiască în sinagogi, prin toată Galilea; şi scotea dracii.

⁴⁰And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

⁴⁰A venit la El un lepros, care s'a aruncat în genunchi înaintea Lui, Îl ruga şi -I zicea: ,,Dacă vrei, poţi să mă curăţeşti.``

⁴¹And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

⁴¹Lui Isus I s'a făcut milă de el, a întins mîna, S'a atins de el, şi i -a zis: ,,Da, voiesc, fii curăţit!``

⁴²And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

⁴²Îndată l -a lăsat lepra, şi s'a curăţit.

⁴³And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;

⁴³Isus i -a poruncit cu tot dinadinsul, i -a spus să plece numai decît,

⁴⁴And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

⁴⁴şi i -a zis: ,,Vezi să nu spui nimănui nimic; ci du-te de te arată preotului, şi adu pentru curăţirea ta ce a poruncit Moise, ca mărturie pentru ei.``

⁴⁵But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

⁴⁵Dar omul acela, după ce a plecat, a început să vestească şi să spună în gura mare lucrul acesta, aşa că Isus nu mai putea să intre pe faţă în nicio cetate; ci stătea afară, în locuri pustii, şi veneau la El din toate părţile.
