¹At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.

¹În vremea aceea, Isus trecea prin lanurile de grîu, într'o zi de Sabat. Ucenicii Lui, cari erau flămînzi, au început să smulgă spice de grîu şi să le mănînce.

²But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

²Fariseii, cînd au văzut lucrul acesta, I-au zis: ,,Uite că ucenicii Tăi fac ce nu este îngăduit să facă în ziua Sabatului.``

³But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

³Dar Isus le -a răspuns: ,,Oare n'aţi citit ce a făcut David, cînd a flămînzit, el şi ceice erau împreună cu el?

⁴How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

⁴Cum a intrat în Casa lui Dumnezeu, şi a mîncat pînile pentru punerea înaintea Domnului, pe cari nu -i era îngăduit să le mănînce nici lui, nici celor ce erau cu el, ci numai preoţilor?

⁵Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

⁵Sau n'aţi citit în Lege că, în zilele de Sabat, preoţii calcă Sabatul în Templu, şi totuş sînt nevinovaţi?

⁶But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

⁶Dar Eu vă spun că aici este Unul mai mare decît Templul.

⁷But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

⁷Dacă aţi fi ştiut ce însemnează: ,Milă voiesc, iar nu jertfe,` n'aţi fi osîndit pe nişte nevinovaţi.

⁸For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

⁸Căci Fiul omului este Domn şi al Sabatului.``

⁹And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

⁹Isus a plecat de acolo, şi a intrat în sinagogă.

¹⁰And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

¹⁰Şi iată că în sinagogă era un om care avea o mînă uscată. Ei, ca să poată învinui pe Isus, L-au întrebat: ,,Este îngăduit a vindeca în zilele de Sabat?``

¹¹And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

¹¹El le -a răspuns: ,,Cine este omul acela dintre voi care, dacă are o oaie, şi -i cade într'o groapă, în ziua Sabatului, să n'o apuce şi s'o scoată afară?

¹²How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

¹²Cu cît mai de preţ este deci un om decît o oaie? De aceea este îngăduit a face bine în zilele de Sabat.``

¹³Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

¹³Atunci a zis omului aceluia: ,,Întinde-ţi mîna!`` El a întins -o, şi mîna s'a făcut sănătoasă ca şi cealaltă.

¹⁴Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

¹⁴Fariseii au ieşit afară, şi s'au sfătuit cum să omoare pe Isus.

¹⁵But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

¹⁵Dar Isus, ca unul care ştia lucrul acesta, a plecat de acolo. După El au mers multe noroade. El a tămăduit pe toţi bolnavii,

¹⁶And charged them that they should not make him known:

¹⁶şi le -a poruncit cu totdinadinsul să nu -L facă cunoscut;

¹⁷That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

¹⁷ca să se împlinească ce fusese vestit prin proorocul Isaia, care zice:

¹⁸Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

¹⁸,,Iată Robul Meu, pe care L-am ales, Prea iubitul Meu, în care sufletul Meu îşi găseşte plăcerea. Voi pune Duhul Meu peste El, şi va vesti Neamurilor judecata.

¹⁹He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

¹⁹El nu Se va lua la ceartă, nici nu va striga. Şi nimeni nu -I va auzi glasul pe uliţe.

²⁰A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

²⁰Nu va frînge o trestie ruptă, şi nici nu va stinge un fitil care fumegă, pînă va face să biruie judecata.

²¹And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

²¹Şi Neamurile vor nădăjdui în Numele Lui.``

²²Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

²²Atunci I-au adus un îndrăcit orb şi mut; şi Isus l -a tămăduit, aşa că mutul vorbea şi vedea.

²³And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

²³Toate noroadele, mirate, ziceau: ,,Nu cumva este acesta Fiul lui David?``

²⁴But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

²⁴Cînd au auzit Fariseii lucrul acesta, au zis: ,,Omul acesta nu scoate dracii decît cu Beelzebul, domnul dracilor!``

²⁵And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

²⁵Isus, care le cunoştea gîndurile, le -a zis: ,,Orice împărăţie desbinată împotriva ei însăş, este pustiită; şi orice cetate sau casă, desbinată împotriva ei însăş, nu poate dăinui.

²⁶And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

²⁶Dacă Satana scoate afară pe Satana, este desbinat; deci, cum poate dăinui împărăţia lui?

²⁷And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

²⁷Şi dacă Eu scot afară dracii cu ajutorul lui Beelzebul, fiii voştri cu cine -i scot? De aceea ei vor fi judecătorii voştri.

²⁸But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

²⁸Dar dacă Eu scot afară dracii cu Duhul lui Dumnezeu, atunci Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu a venit peste voi.

²⁹Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

²⁹Sau, cum poate cineva să intre în casa celui tare, şi să -i jăfuiască gospodăria, dacă n'a legat mai întîi pe cel tare? Numai atunci îi va jăfui casa.

³⁰He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

³⁰Cine nu este cu Mine, este împotriva Mea, şi cine nu strînge cu Mine, risipeşte.

³¹Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

³¹De aceea vă spun: Orice păcat şi orice hulă vor fi iertate oamenilor; dar hula împotriva Duhului Sfînt nu le va fi iertată.

³²And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

³²Oricine va vorbi împotriva Fiului omului, va fi iertat; dar oricine va vorbi împotriva Duhului Sfînt, nu va fi iertat nici în veacul acesta, nici în cel viitor.

³³Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

³³Ori faceţi pomul bun şi rodul lui bun, ori faceţi pomul rău şi rodul lui rău: căci pomul se cunoaşte după rodul lui.

³⁴O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

³⁴Pui de năpîrci, cum aţi putea voi să spuneţi lucruri bune, cînd voi sînteţi răi? Căci din prisosul inimii vorbeşte gura.

³⁵A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

³⁵Omul bun scoate lucruri bune din vistieria bună a inimii lui; dar omul rău scoate lucruri rele din vistieria rea a inimii lui.

³⁶But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

³⁶Vă spun că, în ziua judecăţii, oamenii vor da socoteală de orice cuvînt nefolositor, pe care -l vor fi rostit.

³⁷For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

³⁷Căci din cuvintele tale vei fi scos fără vină, şi din cuvintele tale vei fi osîndit.``

³⁸Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

³⁸Atunci unii din cărturari şi din Farisei au luat cuvîntul, şi I-au zis: ,,Învăţătorule, am vrea să vedem un semn dela Tine!``

³⁹But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

³⁹Drept răspuns, El le -a zis: ,,Un neam viclean şi preacurvar cere un semn; dar nu i se va da alt semn, decît semnul proorocului Iona.

⁴⁰For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

⁴⁰Căci, după cum Iona a stat trei zile şi trei nopţi în pîntecele chitului, tot aşa şi Fiul omului va sta trei zile şi trei nopţi în inima pămîntului.

⁴¹The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

⁴¹Bărbaţii din Ninive se vor scula alături de neamul acesta, în ziua judecăţii, şi -l vor osîndi, pentru că ei s'au pocăit la propovăduirea lui Iona; şi iată că aici este Unul mai mare decît Iona.

⁴²The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

⁴²Împărăteasa dela Miazăzi se va scula alături de neamul acesta, în ziua judecăţii, şi -l va osîndi, pentru că ea a venit dela marginile pămîntului, ca să audă înţelepciunea lui Solomon; şi iată că aici este Unul mai mare decît Solomon.

⁴³When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

⁴³Duhul necurat, cînd a ieşit dintr'un om, umblă prin locuri fără apă, căutînd odihnă, şi n'o găseşte.

⁴⁴Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

⁴⁴Atunci zice: ,,Mă voi întoarce în casa mea, de unde am ieşit. Şi, cînd vine în ea, o găseşte goală, măturată şi împodobită.

⁴⁵Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

⁴⁵Atunci se duce şi ia cu el alte şapte duhuri mai rele decît el: intră în casă, locuiesc acolo, şi starea din urmă a omului acestuia ajunge mai rea decît cea dintîi. Tocmai aşa se va întîmpla şi cu acest neam viclean.``

⁴⁶While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

⁴⁶Pe cînd vorbea încă Isus noroadelor, iată că mama şi fraţii Lui stăteau afară şi căutau să vorbească cu El.

⁴⁷Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

⁴⁷Atunci cineva I -a zis: ,,Iată, mama Ta şi fraţii Tăi stau afară, şi caută să vorbească cu Tine.``

⁴⁸But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

⁴⁸Dar Isus a răspuns celui ce -I adusese ştirea aceasta: ,,Cine este mama Mea, şi cari sînt fraţii Mei?``

⁴⁹And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

⁴⁹Apoi Şi -a întins mîna spre ucenicii Săi şi a zis: ,,Iată mama Mea şi fraţii Mei!

⁵⁰For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

⁵⁰Căci oricine face voia Tatălui Meu care este în ceruri, acela Îmi este frate, soră şi mamă.``
