¹The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

¹(Către mai marele cîntăreţilor. Un psalm al lui David.) Cerurile spun slava lui Dumnezeu, şi întinderea lor vesteşte lucrarea mînilor Lui.

²Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

²O zi istoriseşte alteia acest lucru, o noapte dă de ştire alteia despre el.

³There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

³Şi aceasta, fără vorbe, fără cuvinte, al căror sunet să fie auzit:

⁴Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

⁴dar răsunetul lor străbate tot pămîntul, şi glasul lor merge pînă la marginile lumii. În ceruri El a întins un cort soarelui.

⁵Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

⁵Şi soarele, ca un mire, care iese din odaia lui de nuntă, se aruncă în drumul lui cu bucuria unui viteaz:

⁶His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

⁶răsare la un capăt al cerurilor, şi îşi isprăveşte drumul la celalt capăt; nimic nu se ascunde de căldura lui.

⁷The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

⁷Legea Domnului este desăvîrşită, şi înviorează sufletul; mărturia Domnului este adevărată şi dă înţelepciune celui neştiutor.

⁸The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

⁸Orînduirile Domnului sînt fără prihană, şi veselesc inima; poruncile Domnului sînt curate şi luminează ochii.

⁹The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

⁹Frica de Domnul este curată, şi ţine pe vecie; judecăţile Domnului sînt adevărate, toate sînt drepte.

¹⁰More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

¹⁰Ele sînt mai de preţ decît aurul, decît mult aur curat; sînt mai dulci decît mierea, decît picurul din faguri.

¹¹Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

¹¹Robul Tău primeşte şi el învăţătura dela ele; pentru cine le păzeşte, răsplata este mare.

¹²Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

¹²Cine îşi cunoaşte greşelile făcute din neştiinţă? Iartă-mi greşelile pe cari nu le cunosc!

¹³Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

¹³Păzeşte de asemenea pe robul Tău de mîndrie, ca să nu stăpînească ea peste mine! Atunci voi fi fără prihană, nevinovat de păcate mari.

¹⁴Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

¹⁴Primeşte cu bunăvoinţă cuvintele gurii mele, şi cugetele inimii mele, Doamne, Stînca mea şi Izbăvitorul meu!
