¹I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

¹(Către mai marele cîntăreţilor. Un psalm al lui David, robul Domnului. El a spus Domnului cuvintele cîntării acesteia, cînd l -a scăpat Domnul din mîna tuturor vrăjmaşilor săi şi din mîna lui Saul. El a zis:) ,,Te iubesc din inimă, Doamne, tăria mea!

²The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

²Doamne, Tu eşti stînca mea, cetăţuia mea, izbăvitorul meu! Dumnezeule, Tu eşti stînca mea, în care mă ascund, scutul meu, tăria care mă scapă, şi întăritura mea!

³I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

³Eu strig: ,Lăudat să fie Domnul!` şi sînt izbăvit de vrăjmaşii mei.

⁴The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

⁴Mă înconjuraseră legăturile morţii, şi mă îngroziseră rîurile pieirii;

⁵The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

⁵mă înfăşuraseră legăturile mormîntului, şi mă prinseseră laţurile morţii.

⁶In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

⁶Dar, în strîmtorarea mea, am chemat pe Domnul, şi am strigat către Dumnezeul meu: din locaşul Lui, El mi -a auzit glasul, şi strigătul meu a ajuns pînă la El, pînă la urechile Lui.

⁷Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

⁷Atunci s'a sguduit pămîntul şi s'a cutremurat, temeliile munţilor s'au mişcat, şi s'au clătinat, pentru că El se mîniase.

⁸There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

⁸Din nările Lui se ridica fum, şi un foc mistuitor ieşea din gura Lui: cărbuni aprinşi ţîşneau din ea.

⁹He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

⁹A plecat cerurile, şi S'a pogorît: un nor gros era supt picioarele Lui.

¹⁰And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

¹⁰Călărea pe un heruvim, şi sbura, venea plutind pe aripile vîntului.

¹¹He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

¹¹Întunerecul Şi -l făcuse învelitoare, iar cortul Lui, împrejurul Lui, erau nişte ape întunecoase şi nori negri.

¹²At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

¹²Din strălucirea, care se răsfrîngea înaintea Lui, ieşeau nori, cari aruncau grindină şi cărbuni de foc.

¹³The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

¹³Domnul a tunat în ceruri, Cel Prea Înalt a făcut să -I răsune glasul, cu grindină şi cărbuni de foc.

¹⁴Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

¹⁴A aruncat săgeţi şi a risipit pe vrăjmaşii mei, a înmulţit loviturile trăsnetului şi i -a pus pe fugă.

¹⁵Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

¹⁵Atunci s'a văzut albia apelor, şi s'au descoperit temeliile lumii, la mustrarea Ta, Doamne, la vuietul suflării nărilor Tale.

¹⁶He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

¹⁶El Şi -a întins mîna de sus, m'a apucat, m'a scos din apele cele mari; Ps. 144. 7.

¹⁷He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

¹⁷m'a izbăvit de protivnicul meu cel puternic, de vrăjmaşii mei, cari erau mai tari decît mine.

¹⁸They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

¹⁸Ei năvăliseră deodată peste mine în ziua strîmtorării mele; dar Domnul a fost sprijinul meu.

¹⁹He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

¹⁹El m'a scos la loc larg, şi m'a scăpat, pentrucă mă iubeşte.

²⁰The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

²⁰Domnul mi -a făcut după neprihănirea mea, mi -a răsplătit după curăţia mînilor mele:

²¹For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

²¹căci am păzit căile Domnului, şi n'am păcătuit împotriva Dumnezeului meu.

²²For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.

²²Toate poruncile Lui au fost înaintea mea, şi nu m'am depărtat dela legile Lui.

²³I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.

²³Am fost fără vină faţă de El, şi m'am păzit de fărădelegea mea.

²⁴Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

²⁴Deaceea, Domnul mi -a răsplătit după neprihănirea mea, după curăţia mînilor mele înaintea ochilor Lui.

²⁵With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;

²⁵Cu cel bun Tu Te arăţi bun, cu omul neprihănit Te arăţi neprihănit;

²⁶With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.

²⁶cu cel curat Te arăţi curat, şi cu cel stricat Te porţi după stricăciunea lui.

²⁷For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.

²⁷Tu mîntuieşti pe poporul care se smereşte, şi smereşti privirile trufaşe.

²⁸For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

²⁸Da, Tu îmi aprinzi lumina mea. Domnul, Dumnezeul meu, îmi luminează întunerecul meu.

²⁹For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

²⁹Cu Tine mă năpustesc asupra unei oşti înarmate, cu Dumnezeul meu sar peste un zid întărit.

³⁰As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

³⁰Căile lui Dumnezeu sînt desăvîrşite, Cuvîntul Domnului este încercat: El este un scut pentru toţi cei ce aleargă la El.

³¹For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?

³¹Căci cine este Dumnezeu, afară de Domnul, şi cine este o stîncă, afară de Dumnezeul nostru?

³²It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

³²Dumnezeu mă încinge cu putere, şi mă povăţuieşte pe calea cea dreaptă.

³³He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

³³El îmi face picioarele ca ale cerboaicelor, şi mă aşează pe înălţimile mele

³⁴He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

³⁴El îmi deprinde mînile la luptă, aşa că braţele mele întind arcul de aramă.

³⁵Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

³⁵Tu îmi dai scutul mîntuirii Tale, dreapta Ta mă sprijineşte, şi îndurarea Ta mă face mare.

³⁶Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

³⁶Tu lărgeşti drumul supt paşii mei, şi nu-mi alunecă glesnele.

³⁷I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.

³⁷Urmăresc pe vrăjmaşii mei, îi ajung, şi nu mă întorc pînă nu -i nimicesc.

³⁸I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

³⁸Îi zdrobesc, de nu pot să se mai ridice: ei cad supt picioarele mele.

³⁹For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

³⁹Tu mă încingi cu putere pentru luptă, şi răpui pe protivnicii mei supt picioarele mele.

⁴⁰Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.

⁴⁰Tu faci pe vrăjmaşii mei să dea dosul înaintea mea, şi eu nimicesc pe cei ce mă urăsc.

⁴¹They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

⁴¹Ei strigă, dar n'are cine să -i scape! Strigă către Domnul, dar nu le răspunde!

⁴²Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

⁴²Îi pisez ca praful, pe care -l ia vîntul, îi calc în picioare ca noroiul de pe uliţe.

⁴³Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.

⁴³Tu mă scapi din neînţelegerile poporului; mă pui în fruntea neamurilor; un popor, pe care nu -l cunoaşteam, îmi este supus.

⁴⁴As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

⁴⁴El ascultă de mine la cea dintîi poruncă, fiii străinului mă linguşesc.

⁴⁵The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

⁴⁵Fiilor străinului li se moaie inima de mine, şi ies tremurînd din cetăţuile lor.

⁴⁶The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

⁴⁶Trăiască Domnul, şi binecuvîntată să fie Stînca mea! Mărit să fie Dumnezeul mîntuirii mele,

⁴⁷It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.

⁴⁷Dumnezeu, răzbunătorul meu, care îmi supune popoarele,

⁴⁸He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

⁴⁸şi mă izbăveşte de vrăjmaşii mei! Tu mă înalţi mai pesus de protivnicii mei, mă scapi de omul asupritor.

⁴⁹Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.

⁴⁹Deaceea, Doamne, Te voi lăuda printre neamuri, voi cînta spre slava Numelui Tău.

⁵⁰Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

⁵⁰El dă mari izbăviri împăratului Său, şi dă îndurare unsului Său: lui David, şi seminţei lui, pe vecie.
