¹Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.

¹(Către mai marele cîntăreţilor. De cîntat cu flautele. Un psalm al lui David.) Pleacă-Ţi urechea la cuvintele mele, Doamne! Ascultă suspinurile mele!

²Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

²Ia aminte la strigătele mele, Împăratul meu şi Dumnezeul meu, căci către Tine mă rog!

³My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

³Doamne, auzi-mi glasul, dimineaţa! Dimineaţa eu îmi îndrept rugăciunea spre Tine, şi aştept.

⁴For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

⁴Căci Tu nu eşti un Dumnezeu căruia să -I placă răul; cel rău nu poate locui lîngă Tine.

⁵The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

⁵Nebunii nu pot să stea în preajma ochilor Tăi; Tu urăşti pe cei ce fac fărădelegea,

⁶Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

⁶şi pierzi pe cei mincinoşi; Domnul urăşte pe oamenii cari varsă sînge şi înşală.

⁷But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

⁷Dar eu, prin îndurarea Ta cea mare, pot să intru în casa Ta, şi să mă închin cu frică în Templul Tău cel sfînt.

⁸Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

⁸Doamne, călăuzeşte-mă pe calea plăcută Ţie, din pricina vrăjmaşilor mei! Netezeşte calea Ta supt paşii mei.

⁹For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

⁹Căci nu este nimic adevărat în gura lor; inima le este plină de răutate, gîtlejul le este un mormînt deschis, şi pe limbă au vorbe linguşitoare.

¹⁰Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.

¹⁰Loveşte -i ca pe nişte vinovaţi, Dumnezeule! Fă -i să cadă prin înseşi sfaturile lor. Prăbuşeşte -i în mijlocul păcatelor lor fără număr! Căci se răzvrătesc împotriva Ta.

¹¹But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

¹¹Atunci toţi cei ce se încred în Tine, se vor bucura, se vor veseli totdeauna, căci Tu îi vei ocroti. Tu vei fi bucuria celorce iubesc Numele Tău.

¹²For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

¹²Căci Tu binecuvintezi pe cel neprihănit, Doamne, şi -l înconjuri cu bunăvoinţa Ta, cum l-ai înconjura cu un scut.
