¹Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

¹(Către mai marele cîntăreţilor. De cîntat pe Ghitit. Un psalm al lui Asaf.) Cîntaţi cu veselie lui Dumnezeu, care este tăria noastră! Înălţaţi strigăte de bucurie Dumnezeului lui Iacov!

²Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

²Cîntaţi o cîntare, sunaţi din tobă, din arfa cea plăcută şi din alăută!

³Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

³Sunaţi din trîmbiţă la luna nouă, la luna plină, în ziua sărbătorii noastre!

⁴For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

⁴Căci aceasta este o lege pentru Israel, o poruncă a Dumnezeului lui Iacov.

⁵This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

⁵El a rînduit sărbătoarea aceasta pentru Iosif, cînd a mers împotriva ţării Egiptului... Atunci am auzit un glas, pe care nu l-am cunoscut: -

⁶I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

⁶,,I-am descărcat povara de pe umăr, şi mînile lui nu mai ţin coşul.

⁷Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

⁷Ai strigat în necaz, şi te-am izbăvit; ţi-am răspuns în locul tainic al tunetului, şi te-am încercat la apele Meriba. -

⁸Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

⁸Ascultă, poporul Meu, şi te voi sfătui, Israele, de M'ai asculta!

⁹There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

⁹Niciun dumnezeu străin să nu fie în mijlocul tău, şi să nu te închini înaintea dumnezeilor străini!

¹⁰I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

¹⁰Eu sînt Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, care te-am scos din ţara Egiptului; deschide-ţi gura larg, şi ţi -o voi umplea!``

¹¹But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

¹¹Dar poporul Meu n'a ascultat glasul Meu, Israel nu M'a ascultat.

¹²So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

¹²Atunci i-am lăsat în voia pornirilor inimii lor, şi au urmat sfaturile lor.

¹³Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

¹³O! de M'ar asculta poporul Meu, de ar umbla Israel în căile Mele!

¹⁴I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

¹⁴Într'o clipă aş înfrunta pe vrăjmaşii lor, Mi-aş întoarce mîna împotriva protivnicilor lor;

¹⁵The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

¹⁵ceice urăsc pe Domnul l-ar linguşi, şi fericirea lui Israel ar dăinui în veci.

¹⁶He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

¹⁶L-aş hrăni cu cel mai bun grîu, şi l-aş sătura cu miere din stîncă.
