¹Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

¹A o duchovných daroch, bratia, nechcem, aby ste nevedeli.

²Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

²Viete, že keď ste boli pohanmi, chodili ste k nemým modlám, ako ste kedy boli vedení.

³Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

³Preto vám oznamujem, že nikto hovoriac v Duchu Božom nezlorečí Ježišovi anatema. A nikto nemôže povedať: Pán Ježiš, okrem v Svätom Duchu.

⁴Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

⁴A sú rôzne dary milosti, ale ten istý Duch.

⁵And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

⁵A sú rôzne služby, a ten istý Pán.

⁶And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

⁶A sú rôzne pôsobnosti, ale ten istý Bôh, ktorý pôsobí všetko vo všetkých.

⁷But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

⁷Ale jednému každému sa dáva prejavovanie Ducha na spoločný užitok.

⁸For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

⁸Lebo jednému sa dáva skrze Ducha slovo múdrosti a druhému slovo známosti podľa toho istého Ducha,

⁹To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

⁹inému viera, v tom istom Duchu; inému milosti dary uzdravovania, v tom istom Duchu;

¹⁰To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

¹⁰inému pôsobnosti divov, inému proroctvo, inému rozoznávanie duchov, inému druhy jazykov a inému výklad jazykov,

¹¹But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

¹¹a to všetko pôsobí jeden a ten istý Duch rozdeľujúc osobitne jednému každému tak, ako chce.

¹²For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

¹²Lebo jako je telo jedno a má mnoho údov, a všetky tie údy toho jedného tela, hoci ich je mnoho, sú jedným telom, tak aj Kristus.

¹³For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

¹³Lebo i v jednom Duchu my všetci sme pokrstení v jedno telo, buď Židia buď Gréci buď sluhovia buď slobodní, a všetci sme napojení v jedného Ducha.

¹⁴For the body is not one member, but many.

¹⁴Lebo veď ani telo nie je len jedným údom, ale pozostáva z mnoho údov.

¹⁵If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

¹⁵Keby tak povedala noha: Pretože nie som rukou, nie som z tela, či preto nie je predsa len z tela?

¹⁶And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

¹⁶A keby povedalo ucho: Pretože nie som okom, nie som z tela, či preto nie je predsa len z tela?

¹⁷If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

¹⁷Keby bolo celé telo okom, kde by bol sluch? Keby bolo celé sluchom, kde potom čuch?

¹⁸But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

¹⁸Ale teraz Bôh položil údy, jeden každý z nich, na tele tak, ako to chcel.

¹⁹And if they were all one member, where were the body?

¹⁹Keby boly všetky jedným údom, kde by bolo telo?

²⁰But now are they many members, yet but one body.

²⁰No, teraz je síce mnoho údov, ale jedno telo.

²¹And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

²¹A oko nemôže povedať ruke: Nepotrebujem ťa, alebo zase hlava nohám: Nepotrebujem vás.

²²Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

²²Ba práve údy tela, ktoré sa vidia byť slabšími, sú nevyhnutne potrebné.

²³And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

²³A tým údom, o ktorých myslíme, že sú menej čestnými údami tela, práve tým pridávame hojnejšiu česť. A naše nepočestné údy majú hojnejšiu počestnosť.

²⁴For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.

²⁴A naše počestné toho nepotrebujú. Ale Bôh pomiešal telo a ustrojil tak, že tomu, ktorému sa nedostáva, dal hojnejšiu česť,

²⁵That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

²⁵aby nebolo roztržky v tele, ale aby sa údy navzájom rovnako starali o seba.

²⁶And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

²⁶A buď že trpí jeden úd, spolu trpia všetky údy; buď že sa oslavuje jeden úd, spolu sa radujú všetky údy.

²⁷Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

²⁷A vy ste telom Kristovým a údami po čiastke.

²⁸And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

²⁸A síce jedných postavil Bôh v cirkvi, a to ponajprv apoštolov, po druhé prorokov, po tretie učiteľov; potom divotvorné moci, potom milosti dary uzdravovania, ujímania sa potrebných, správy, druhy jazykov.

²⁹Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

²⁹Či sú azda všetci apoštolmi? Či všetci prorokmi? Či všetci učiteľmi? Či všetci divotvorcami?

³⁰Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

³⁰Či majú všetci dary uzdravovať? Či všetci hovoria jazykmi? Či všetci vykladajú?

³¹But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

³¹No, snažte sa horlivo o lepšie dary milosti! A ešte vám ukážem svrchovanú cestu.
