¹For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

¹Lebo vieme, že keby náš pozemský dom stánu bol zborený, máme stavänie od Boha, dom, nie rukou učinený, večný v nebesiach;

²For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

²lebo v tomto aj vzdycháme túžiac, že by sme si mohli obliecť naň svoj príbytok z neba,

³If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

³akže aj oblečení a nie nahí budeme najdení.

⁴For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

⁴Lebo aj, ktorí sme v tomto stáne, vzdycháme súc obtiažení, nakoľko sa nechceme vyzliecť, ale sa poodiať, aby to, čo je smrteľné, bolo pohltené od života.

⁵Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

⁵No, ten, kto nás práve k tomu istému pripravil, je Bôh, ktorý nám aj dal závdavok Ducha.

⁶Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

⁶Preto teda vždycky dôverujeme a vieme, že kým sme doma v tele, sme von od domova a vzdialení od Pána.

⁷(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

⁷Lebo chodíme vierou a nie videním.

⁸We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

⁸Ale dôverujeme i súčasne volíme radšej vystehovať sa von z tela a bývať doma u Pána.

⁹Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

⁹A preto sa aj všemožne snažíme, aby sme, buď že dlejeme doma v tele buď že sme von z domova, jemu sa ľúbili.

¹⁰For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

¹⁰Lebo my všetci sa musíme ukázať pred súdnou stolicou Kristovou, aby si jeden každý odniesol to, čo načo vykonal skrze telo, už či bolo dobré či zlé.

¹¹Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

¹¹Znajúc tedy bázeň Pánovu presviedčame ľudí a Bohu sme zjavní. Ale nadejem sa, že sme aj vo vašich svedomiach zjavní.

¹²For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

¹²Lebo neodporúčame vám opät sami seba, ale vám dávame príčinu chváliť sa nami, aby ste to mali proti tým, ktorí sa chvália tvárou a nie srdcom.

¹³For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.

¹³Lebo buď že sme pošli z umu - Bohu, buď že sme pri zdravom rozume - vám.

¹⁴For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

¹⁴Lebo láska Kristova nás núti,

¹⁵And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

¹⁵ktorí sme usúdili toto: že ak jeden zomrel za všetkých, tedy všetci zomreli, a za všetkých zomrel preto, aby tí, ktorí žijú, nežili už viacej sebe, ale tomu, ktorý zomrel za nich i vstal z mŕtvych.

¹⁶Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

¹⁶A tak my už odteraz neznáme nikoho podľa tela. A jestli sme aj poznali Krista podľa tela, ale teraz už viacej neznáme.

¹⁷Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

¹⁷Takže ak je niekto v Kristovi, je novým stvorením; drievne pominulo, hľa, všetko je nové.

¹⁸And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

¹⁸Ale to všetko z Boha, ktorý nás smieril sám so sebou skrze Ježiša Krista a dal nám službu smierenia,

¹⁹To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

¹⁹jako že Bôh bol v Kristovi mieriac so sebou svet, nepočítajúc im ich hriechov a položil do nás slovo smierenia.

²⁰Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

²⁰Tedy za Krista posolstvujeme, jako čo by sám Bôh napomínal skrze nás, prosíme za Krista, smierte sa s Bohom!

²¹For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

²¹Lebo toho, ktorý nepoznal hriechu, učinil za nás hriechom, aby sme my boli spravedlivosťou Božou v ňom.
