¹And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

¹A stane sa, ak budeš naozaj počúvať na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha, aby si ostríhal a činil všetky jeho prikázania, ktoré ti ja prikazujem dnes, že ťa vyvýši Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, nad všetky národy zeme.

²And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

²A prijdú na teba všetky tieto požehnania a dostihnú ťa, keď budeš počúvať na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha.

³Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

³Požehnaný budeš v meste, a požehnaný budeš na poli.

⁴Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

⁴Požehnaný bude plod tvojho života, plod tvojej zeme i plod tvojho hoväda, mladé tvojho rožného statku i matky tvojho drobného stáda.

⁵Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

⁵Požehnaný bude tvoj koš tvoje koryto na cesto.

⁶Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

⁶Požehnaný budeš, keď budeš vchádzať a požehnaný budeš, keď budeš vychádzať.

⁷The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

⁷Hospodin to dá, že tvoji nepriatelia, ktorí by povstali proti tebe, budú porazení pred tebou; jednou cestou vyjdú proti tebe a siedmimi cestami budú utekať pred tebou.

⁸The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

⁸Hospodin prikáže svojmu požehnaniu, aby bolo s tebou v tvojich zásobárňach a vo všetkom, po čom siahne tvoja ruka. A požehná ťa v zemi, ktorú ti dá Hospodin, tvoj Bôh.

⁹The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.

⁹Hospodin si ťa postaví za svätý ľud, ako ti prisahal, keď budeš ostríhať prikázania Hospodina, svojho Boha, a budeš chodiť po jeho cestách.

¹⁰And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.

¹⁰A uvidia všetky národy zeme, že meno Hospodinovo je vzývané nad tebou, a budú sa ťa báť.

¹¹And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

¹¹A Hospodin učiní, že budeš mať hojnosť dobrého, plodu svojho života, plodu svojich hoviad a plodu svojej pôdy, na pôde, o ktorej prisahal Hospodin tvojim otcom, že ti ju dá.

¹²The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

¹²Hospodin ti otvorí svoj výborný poklad, nebesia, dávajúc tvojej zemi dážď svojím časom a žehnajúc každému dielu tvojich rúk, takže budeš požičiavať mnohým národom, a ty si nebudeš požičiavať od nikoho.

¹³And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

¹³A Hospodin ťa dá za hlavu, a nie za chvost, a vše budeš iba povýšený hore a nebudeš ponížený dolu, keď budeš počúvať na prikázania Hospodina, svojho Boha, ktoré ti ja prikazujem dnes, aby si ich ostríhal a činil.

¹⁴And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

¹⁴A neodchýliš sa od niktorých slov, ktoré vám ja prikazujem dnes, ani napravo ani naľavo odíduc za inými bohy, aby si im slúžil.

¹⁵But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

¹⁵Ale stane sa, ak by si nepočúval na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha, tak, aby si ostríhal a činil všetky jeho prikázania a všetky jeho ustanovenia, ktoré ti ja prikazujem dnes, že prijdú na teba všetky tieto kliatby a dostihnú ťa.

¹⁶Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

¹⁶Zlorečený budeš v meste a zlorečený budeš na poli.

¹⁷Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.

¹⁷Zlorečený bude tvoj koš i tvoje koryto na cesto.

¹⁸Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

¹⁸Zlorečený bude plod tvojho života i plod tvojej pôdy, mladé tvojho rožného statku i matky tvojho drobného stáda.

¹⁹Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

¹⁹Zlorečený budeš, keď budeš vchádzať a zlorečený budeš, keď budeš vychádzať.

²⁰The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.

²⁰Hospodin pošle na teba zlorečenstvo, desivú bezradnosť a kliatbu na všetko, po čom siahne tvoja ruka, čokoľvek budeš robiť, dokiaľ nebudeš zahladený a dokiaľ skoro nezahynieš pre svoje zlé skutky, pretože si ma opustil.

²¹The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.

²¹Hospodin učiní to, aby sa ťa pridŕžal mor, dokiaľ ťa nevyplieni zo zeme, do ktorej ideš, aby si ju zaujal do dedičstva.

²²The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

²²Hospodin ťa bude biť suchotinami, zimnicou a horúčkou, veľkou horúčavou a mečom, suchom a rudou, a budú ťa prenasledovať, dokiaľ nezahynieš.

²³And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.

²³Tvoje nebesia, ktoré sú nad tvojou hlavou, budú meďou, a zem, ktorá je pod tebou, bude železom.

²⁴The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

²⁴Hospodin dá, aby dažďom tvojej zeme bol prach a popol, ktorý sostúpi na teba s neba, dokiaľ nebudeš zahladený.

²⁵The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

²⁵Hospodin dá to, aby si bol porazený pred svojimi nepriateľmi. Jednou cestou vyjdeš proti nemu, a siedmimi cestami budeš utekať pred ním, a budeš sa ponevierať po všetkých kráľovstvách zeme na postrach a na postrk.

²⁶And thy carcass shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.

²⁶A tvoja mŕtvola bude za pokrm všetkým vtákom nebies i šelmám zeme, a nebude toho, kto by zaplašil.

²⁷The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

²⁷A Hospodin ťa bude biť egyptským vredom a bolestnými opuchlinami na zadnom tele, chrastami a svrabom, takže sa nebudeš môcť vyhojiť.

²⁸The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:

²⁸A Hospodin ťa bude biť šialenstvom, slepotou a chvením srdca.

²⁹And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.

²⁹Budeš hmatať o poludní, jako hmatá slepý v hustej tme, a nebudeš mať zdaru na svojich cestách, ale budeš vždy len utískaný a olupovaný po všetky dni, a nebude toho, kto by zachránil.

³⁰Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.

³⁰Ženu si zasnúbiš, ale iný bude s ňou ležať; vystavíš dom, ale nebudeš bývať v ňom; vysadíš vinicu, ale jej nebudeš ako obecné sebe oberať.

³¹Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.

³¹Tvojho vola zabijú pred tvojimi očima, ale nebudeš jesť z neho; tvojho osla ulúpia zpred teba, a nevráti sa viacej k tebe; tvoje drobné stádo bude dané tvojim nepriateľom, a nebudeš mať toho, kto by ťa zachránil.

³²Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in thine hand.

³²Tvoji synovia a tvoje dcéry budú vydaní inému národu, kým tvoje oči budú hľadieť na to a budú hynúť pre nich deň ako deň, a tvoja ruka nebude mať sily.

³³The fruit of thy land, and all thy labors, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:

³³Úrodu tvojej zeme a všetko tvoje úsilie požerie národ, ktorého neznáš, a budeš iba utískaný a drtený po všetky dni.

³⁴So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

³⁴A zošalieš od toho, čo budú vidieť tvoje oči, na čo sa budeš musieť dívať.

³⁵The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.

³⁵Hospodin ťa bude biť najhorším vredom na kolenách i na lýtkach, takže sa nebudeš môcť vyhojiť, od spodku tvojej nohy až do vrchu tvojej hlavy.

³⁶The LORD shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.

³⁶Hospodin zavedie i teba i tvojho kráľa, ktorého ustanovíš nad sebou, k národu, ktorého si neznal ani ty ani tvoji otcovia, a tam budeš slúžiť iným bohom, drevu a kameňu.

³⁷And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.

³⁷A budeš na úžas, na príslovie a na rezavý posmech u všetkých národov, kam ťa zavedie Hospodin.

³⁸Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.

³⁸Vynesieš mnoho semena na pole a spraceš málo, lebo to obožerú kobylky.

³⁹Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.

³⁹Vysadíš vinicu a budeš obrábať, ale vína piť nebudeš ani nebudeš snášať, lebo to požerie červ.

⁴⁰Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.

⁴⁰Budeš mať aj olivy vo všetkých svojich krajoch, ale olejom sa mazať nebudeš, lebo tvoja oliva opŕchne.

⁴¹Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.

⁴¹Naplodíš synov a dcér, ale nebudú tvoji, pretože pojdú do zajatia.

⁴²All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.

⁴²Všetky tvoje stromy jako i plod tvojej pôdy zaujme v dedičstvo chrobač.

⁴³The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.

⁴³Pohostín, ktorý bude v tvojom strede, bude vystupovať nad teba vždy vyššie a vyššie, a ty budeš sostupovať nižšie a nižšie.

⁴⁴He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

⁴⁴On ti bude požičiavať, a ty mu nebudeš požičiavať. On bude hlavou, a ty budeš chvostom.

⁴⁵Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

⁴⁵A prijdú na teba všetky tieto kliatby a budú ťa prenasledovať a stíhať ťa, dokiaľ nebudeš zahladený, pretože si nepočúval na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha, tak aby si bol ostríhal jeho prikázania a jeho ustanovenia, ktoré ti prikázal;

⁴⁶And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.

⁴⁶budú na tebe na znamenie a na zázrak i na tvojom semene až na veky,

⁴⁷Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

⁴⁷preto, že si neslúžil Hospodinovi, svojmu Bohu, s radosťou a ochotou srdca majúc všetkého množstvo.

⁴⁸Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

⁴⁸A preto budeš slúžiť svojim nepriateľom, tomu, ktorého pošle na teba Hospodin, o hlade a smäde, v nahote a v nedostatku všetkého potrebného a vzloží železné jarmo na tvoju šiju, a to tak, dokiaľ ťa nezahladí.

⁴⁹The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

⁴⁹Hospodin dovedie na teba národ z ďaleka, od konca zeme, ktorý poletí, jako letí orol, národ, ktorého jazyku nebudeš rozumieť.

⁵⁰A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young:

⁵⁰Bude to nestudatý národ, tvrdý, ktorý nebude hľadieť na starca ani sa nezľutuje nad dieťaťom.

⁵¹And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.

⁵¹A požerie plod tvojho dobytka i plod tvojej pôdy, a bude žrať, dokiaľ nebudeš zahladený, ktorý ti nezanechá obilia ani šťavy z hrozna ani oleja, mláďatá tvojho rožného statku ani matiek tvojich stád oviec a kôz, dokiaľ len ťa nevyhubí.

⁵²And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.

⁵²Sovrie ťa vo všetkých tvojich bránach a bude ťa svierať, dokiaľ nepadnú tvoje vysoké múry hradné, na ktoré sa ty nadeješ, po celej tvojej zemi. A sovrie ťa vo všetkých tvojich bránach po celej tvojej zemi, ktorú dal Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, tebe.

⁵³And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:

⁵³A budeš jesť plod svojho vlastného života, telo svojich synov a svojich dcér, ktoré ti dal Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, v obležení a v úzkosti, ktorou ťa sovrie tvoj nepriateľ.

⁵⁴So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:

⁵⁴Rozmaznaný človek medzi vami a vychovaný vo veľkej rozkoši bude závidieť svojmu bratovi i žene svojho lona i ostatku svojich synov, ktorých mu ešte ponechá nepriateľ,

⁵⁵So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.

⁵⁵takže neudelí niktorému z nich tela svojich synov, ktoré bude jesť, pretože mu nepozostane ničoho v obležení a v úzkosti, ktorou ťa sovrie tvoj nepriateľ vo všetkých tvojich bránach.

⁵⁶The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,

⁵⁶Rozmaznaná medzi vami a vychovaná v rozkoši, ktorá z rozkoše a z maznavej chúlostivosti nepokúsila sa ani len svoju nohu postaviť na zem, bude závidieť mužovi svojho lona i svojmu synovi a svojej dcére,

⁵⁷And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.

⁵⁷a to i svojej postieľky, ktorá vyjde z nej po pôrode, i svojich synov, ktorých porodí, lebo ich bude tajne jesť v nedostatku všetkého potrebného v obležení a v úzkosti, ktorou ťa sovrie tvoj nepriateľ v tvojich bránach.

⁵⁸If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;

⁵⁸Ak nebudeš ostríhať a činiť všetky slová tohoto zákona, ktoré sú napísané v tejto knihe, aby si sa bál toho preslávneho mena hrozného, Hospodina, svojho Boha,

⁵⁹Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.

⁵⁹vtedy ťa bude biť Hospodin podivnými ranami i tvoje semeno, veľkými ranami stálymi a zlými nemocami trvanlivými.

⁶⁰Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.

⁶⁰A obráti na teba všetky neduhy Egypta, ktorých sa bojíš a budú sa ťa držať.

⁶¹Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

⁶¹I všelijakú chorobu i všelijakú ranu, ktorá nie je napísaná v knihe tohoto zákona, uvedie Hospodin na teba, a to bude tak, dokiaľ nebudeš zahladený.

⁶²And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God.

⁶²A zostane vás málo namiesto toho, že vás bolo jako nebeských hviezd čo do množstva, pretože si nepočúval na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha.

⁶³And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.

⁶³A stane sa, že jako sa radoval Hospodin nad vami, keď vám činil dobré a rozmnožoval vás, tak sa bude radovať Hospodin nad vami, keď vás bude hubiť a plieniť, a budete zahnaní zo zeme, do ktorej ideš, aby si ju zaujal do dedičstva.

⁶⁴And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.

⁶⁴Hospodin ťa rozptýli medzi všetky národy od jedného konca zeme až po druhý koniec zeme, a tam budeš slúžiť iným bohom, ktorých si neznal ani ty ani tvoji otcovia, drevu a kameňu.

⁶⁵And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:

⁶⁵A medzi tými národami nebudeš mať oddychu, ani tvoja noha nebude mať miesta, kde by si odpočinula. A tam ti dá Hospodin ľakavé srdce, umdlenosť očí a trúchlivé hynutie duše.

⁶⁶And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:

⁶⁶A tvoj život ti bude visieť na nitke pred tebou, a budeš sa strachovať vodne i vnoci. A nikde nebudeš istý svojho života.

⁶⁷In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

⁶⁷Ráno povieš: Keby len už bol večer! A večer povieš: Keby len už bolo ráno! pre strach svojeho srdca, ktorým sa budeš strachovať, a pre to, čo budú vidieť tvoje oči, na čo sa budeš musieť dívať.

⁶⁸And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

⁶⁸A Hospodin ťa zavedie zpät do Egypta na lodiach, cestou, o ktorej som ti povedal: Neuvidíš jej viacej, a tam sa budete predávať tvojim nepriateľom za sluhov a za dievky, a nebude toho, kto by kúpil.
