¹And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

¹Aj vás, ktorí ste boli mŕtvi vo svojich previneniach a vo svojich hriechoch,

²Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

²v ktorých ste kedysi chodili podľa veku tohoto sveta, podľa kniežaťa mocností povetria, ducha to, ktorý teraz pôsobí v synoch neposlušnosti,

³Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

³medzi ktorými sme kedysi aj my všetci obcovali v žiadostiach svojho tela robiac to, čo sa zachcievalo telu a mysliam, a boli sme prírodou deťmi hnevu jako aj ostatní.

⁴But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

⁴Ale Bôh súc bohatý v milosrdenstve pre mnohú svoju lásku, ktorou nás zamiloval,

⁵Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

⁵aj keď sme boli mŕtvi v previneniach, spolu nás oživil s Kristom - milosťou ste spasení -

⁶And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

⁶a spolu vzkriesil a spolu posadil v ponebeských oblastiach v Kristu Ježišovi,

⁷That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

⁷aby v nasledujúcich vekoch ukázal nesmierne bohatstvo svojej milosti dobrotou na nás v Kristu Ježišovi.

⁸For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

⁸Lebo ste milosťou spasení skrze vieru, a to nie zo seba, je to dar Boží,

⁹Not of works, lest any man should boast.

⁹nie zo skutkov, aby sa niekto nechválil.

¹⁰For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

¹⁰Lebo sme jeho dielom, stvorení v Kristu Ježišovi nato, aby sme konali dobré skutky, ktoré Bôh vopred prihotovil, aby sme v nich chodili.

¹¹Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

¹¹Preto pamätajte, že kedysi vy, pohania v tele, ktorých tak zvaná obriezka na tele, učinená rukou, zovie neobriezkou,

¹²That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

¹²že ste v tom čase boli bez Krista, odcudzení občianstvu Izraelovmu a cudzí smluvám zasľúbenia, nemajúci nádeje a bez Boha na svete.

¹³But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

¹³Ale teraz v Kristu Ježišu vy, ktorí ste boli kedysi ďalekí stali ste sa blízkymi v krvi Kristovej.

¹⁴For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

¹⁴Lebo on je náš pokoj, ktorý učinil oboje jedno a zboril aj priehradný múr

¹⁵Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

¹⁵zrušiac vo svojom tele nepriateľstvo, zákon prikázaní, záležajúci v rôznych nariadeniach, aby tých dvoje, Židov a pohanov, stvoril v sebe v jedného nového človeka činiac pokoj

¹⁶And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

¹⁶a aby smieril obojich v jednom tele Bohu skrze kríž zabijúc na ňom nepriateľstvo

¹⁷And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

¹⁷a prišiel a zvestoval pokoj vám ďalekým a pokoj blízkym,

¹⁸For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

¹⁸lebo skrze neho máme prístup oboji v jednom Duchu k Otcovi.

¹⁹Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

¹⁹Tak tedy už nie ste cudzincami a bezprávnymi pohostínmi, ale ste spoluobčania svätých a domáci Boží,

²⁰And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

²⁰vybudovaní na základe apoštolov a prorokov, kde je uholným kameňom sám Ježiš Kristus,

²¹In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

²¹v ktorom každé stavänie prístojne dovedna pojené rastie v svätý chrám v Pánovi,

²²In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

²²v ktorom sa aj vy spolu budujete v príbytok Boží v Duchu.
