¹Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

¹Ktože to ide z Edoma, v zabrotenom rúchu z Bocry? Ten nádherný vo svojom rúchu, ktorý tak hrdo kráča vo množstve svojej sily? Ja som, ktorý hovorím v spravedlivosti, hojný zachrániť.

²Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?

²Prečo je tvoje rúcho červené a prečo tvoj odev ako odev toho, ktorý šliape v lise?

³I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.

³Čereň som šliapal, sám, a nebolo nikoho so mnou z národov; pošliapal som ich vo svojom hneve a zdeptal som ich vo svojej prchlivosti, až ich krv striekala na môj odev, a zapľuhavil som všetko svoje rúcho.

⁴For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

⁴Pretože bol deň pomsty v mojom srdci, a rok mojich vykúpených prišiel.

⁵And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.

⁵Hľadel som, ale nebolo spomocníka; desil som sa, ale nebolo nikoho, kto by bol podoprel. A tak mi pomohlo moje rameno a zachránilo, a moja prchlivosť, tá ma podoprela.

⁶And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.

⁶A zašliapal som národy vo svojom hneve, opojil som ich vo svojej prchlivosti a vylial som ich krv na zem.

⁷I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

⁷Pripomínať budem rôznu milosť Hospodinovu, chvály Hospodinove, podľa všetkého toho, čo nám učinil Hospodin, a to mnoho dobrého domu Izraelovmu, ktoré im učinil podľa svojho mnohého zľutovania a podľa množstva svojej rôznej milosti.

⁸For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.

⁸A povedal: Veď sú mojím ľudom, synovia sú, neoklamú, a bol im spasiteľom.

⁹In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.

⁹V každom ich súžení mal aj on súženie, a anjel jeho tvári ich ochraňoval. Vo svojej láske a vo svojej ľútosti ich on vykúpil a pestoval ich a nosil ich po všetky dni veku.

¹⁰But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.

¹⁰Ale oni sa staväli na odpor a zarmucovali Ducha jeho svätosti, a preto sa im obrátil v nepriateľa a sám bojoval proti nim.

¹¹Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?

¹¹Potom sa rozpamätal na dni dávneho veku, na Mojžiša a na svoj ľud, a povedal: Kde je ten, ktorý ich vyviedol hore z mora s pastierom svojho stáda? Kde je ten, ktorý položil do jeho stredu Ducha svojej svätosti?

¹²That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

¹²Ktorý dal, aby išlo rameno jeho veličenstva po pravici Mojžišovej? Ktorý rozdelil vody pred nimi, aby si učinil večné meno?

¹³That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?

¹³Ktorý ich viedol cez hlbiny jako koňa po púšti, a neklesli?

¹⁴As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

¹⁴Jako keď schádza hoviadko do údolia, tak ho viedol Duch Hospodinov do pokoja. Tak si viedol svoj ľud pred sebou, aby si si učinil slávne meno.

¹⁵Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?

¹⁵Pohliadni z nebies a vidz z príbytku svojej svätosti a svojej slávy! Kde je tvoja horlivosť a tvoja hrdinská sila? Množstvo tvojich milosrdenstiev a tvojich zľutovaní, ktoré sa nasilu zdŕžajú proti mne?

¹⁶Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.

¹⁶Lebo veď ty si náš Otec, lebo Abrahám nevie o nás, a Izrael nás nezná. Ty, ó, Hospodine, si naším Otcom; náš vykupiteľ je od veku tvoje meno.

¹⁷O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.

¹⁷Prečo si nám dal zablúdiť, Hospodine, od svojich ciest, zatvrdil si naše srdce, aby sme sa ťa nebáli? Navráť sa pre svojich služobníkov, pre pokolenia svojho dedičstva!

¹⁸The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.

¹⁸Len malý čas vládol ním ľud tvojej svätosti; naši protivníci pošliapali tvoju svätyňu.

¹⁹We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name.

¹⁹Sme jako tí, nad ktorými si nepanoval nikdy od veku, nad ktorými nebolo vzývané tvoje meno.
