¹Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,

¹Pavel, väzeň Krista Ježiša, a brat Timoteus milovanému Filémonovi a nášmu spolupracovníkovi

²And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:

²a Apfii, milovanej sestre, a Archippovi, nášmu spolubojovníkovi, aj sboru, ktorý je v tvojom dome:

³Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

³milosť vám a pokoj od Boha, nášho Otca, a od Pána Ježiša Krista.

⁴I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

⁴Ďakujem vždycky svojmu Bohu zmieňujúc sa o tebe na svojich modlitbách,

⁵Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;

⁵počujúc o tvojej láske a viere, ktorú máš k Pánu Ježišovi a naproti všetkým svätým,

⁶That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

⁶aby obecenstvo tvojej viery bolo účinné poznaním všetkého dobrého, ktoré je vo vás cieľom Krista Ježiša.

⁷For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

⁷Lebo máme veľkú radosť a potešenie z tvojej lásky, že tebou okrialy srdcia svätých, bratu.

⁸Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,

⁸A preto, hoci mám veľkú smelosť v Kristovi rozkázať ti, čo náleží,

⁹Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

⁹pre lásku radšej prosím súc taký jako starý Pavel a teraz i väzeň Ježiša Krista,

¹⁰I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

¹⁰prosím ťa o svoje dieťa, ktoré som ja splodil vo svojich putách, Onezima,

¹¹Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:

¹¹ktorý ti bol kedysi neužitočný, ale teraz tebe i mne užitočný, ktorého som ti zase poslal,

¹²Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:

¹²a ty ho, to jest moje srdce, prijmi,

¹³Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:

¹³ktorého som ja chcel podržať u seba, aby mi za teba slúžil v putách evanjelia,

¹⁴But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

¹⁴ale bez toho, aby som vedel tvoju mienku, nechcel som nič urobiť, aby tvoje dobré nebolo jako vynútené, ale dobrovoľné.

¹⁵For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;

¹⁵Lebo snáď práve preto bol odišiel na krátky čas, aby si ho potom mal na veky,

¹⁶Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

¹⁶nie viac ako sluhu, ale viac ako sluhu, jako milovaného brata, zvlášte mne, a o koľko viacej tebe i v tele i v Pánovi.

¹⁷If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.

¹⁷Ak tedy mňa máš za spoluúčastníka, prijmi ho jako mňa.

¹⁸If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;

¹⁸A jestli ti niečo ukrivdil alebo ti je niečo dlžný, pripočítaj to mne.

¹⁹I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

¹⁹Ja, Pavel, som to napísal vlastnou rukou, ja zaplatím, aby som ti nepovedal, že si mi aj sám seba dlžný.

²⁰Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.

²⁰Áno, bratu, nech mám ja z teba užitok v Pánovi; občerstvi moje srdce v Pánovi.

²¹Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.

²¹Dôverujúc tvojej poslušnosti som ti to napísal vediac, že urobíš aj nad to, čo hovorím.

²²But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

²²A zároveň mi aj prihotov hospodu, lebo sa nadejem, že vašimi modlitbami budem vám darovaný.

²³There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;

²³Pozdravuje ta Epafras, môj spoluzajatec v Kristu Ježišovi,

²⁴Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.

²⁴Marek, Aristarchus, Démas, Lukáš, moji spolupracovníci.
