¹Náčelníkovi speváckeho sboru. Žalm služobníka Hospodinovho, Dávida, ktorý hovoril Hospodinovi slová tejto piesne v deň, v ktorý ho vytrhnul Hospodin z ruky všetkých jeho nepriateľov, i z ruky Saula,

²The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

²a povedal: Srdečne ťa milujem, ó, Hospodine, moja silo!

³I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

³Hospodin je mojou skalou a mojím hradom, mojím vysloboditeľom, mojím silným Bohom, mojím bralom, ku ktorému sa utiekam, mojím štítom a rohom môjho spasenia, mojou vysokou pevnosťou.

⁴The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

⁴Na veleslávneho som volal Hospodina a bol som zachránený od svojich nepriateľov.

⁵The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

⁵Boly ma obkľúčily bolesti smrti, a predesily ma potoky beliála;

⁶In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

⁶boly ma obňaly povrazy ríše mŕtvych; osídla smrti ma boly nadišly.

⁷Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

⁷Vo svojej úzkosti som volal na Hospodina, a úpenlivo som volal o pomoc na svojho Boha. Uslyšal môj hlas zo svojho chrámu, a moje volanie prišlo pred jeho tvár a dostalo sa do jeho uší.

⁸There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

⁸Vtedy sa pohla a zatriasla zem, a od strachu sa chvely základy vrchov a pohybovaly sa, lebo horel hnevom.

⁹He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

⁹Dym vystupoval jeho nozdrami, a oheň z jeho úst zožieral, takže sa uhlie zanietilo od neho.

¹⁰And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

¹⁰Naklonil nebesia a sostúpil, a mrákava bola pod jeho nohami;

¹¹He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

¹¹vysadol na cheruba a letel a vznášal sa na krýdlach vetra.

¹²At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

¹²Zo tmy si urobil skrýš, stán vôkol seba z vodného temna a z hustých oblakov vysokých.

¹³The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

¹³Od blesku pred ním rozišly sa jeho oblaky, kamenec a žeravé uhlie.

¹⁴Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

¹⁴Vtedy zahrmel na nebesiach Hospodin, a Najvyšší vydal svoj hlas; dal, aby padal kamenec a žeravé uhlie.

¹⁵Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

¹⁵Poslal svoje šípy a rozohnal ich, množstvo bleskov hromu, a podesil ich.

¹⁶He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

¹⁶A ukázaly sa riečištia vôd, a odkryly sa základy okruhu sveta od tvojho žehrania, Hospodine, od dychu ducha tvojich nozdier.

¹⁷He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

¹⁷Vystrel rameno s výsosti, pochytil ma a vytiahol ma z velikých vôd.

¹⁸They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

¹⁸Vytrhol ma z moci môjho silného nepriateľa a z moci tých, ktorí ma nenávideli, pretože boli mocnejší ako ja.

¹⁹He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

¹⁹Nadišli na mňa v deň môjho nešťastia, ale Hospodin mi bol oporou

²⁰The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

²⁰a vyviedol ma na priestranstvo a vytrhol ma, lebo má vo mne záľubu.

²¹For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

²¹Hospodin mi odplatil podľa mojej spravedlivosti; vrátil mi podľa čistoty mojich rúk.

²²For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.

²²Lebo som ostríhal cesty Hospodinove a nedopustil som sa tej bezbožnosti, aby som bol odišiel od svojho Boha.

²³I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.

²³Lebo všetky jeho súdy sú predo mnou, a jeho ustanovení som neodstrčil od seba;

²⁴Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

²⁴ale som bol s ním cele a bez úhony a vystríhal som sa svojej neprávosti.

²⁵With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;

²⁵A Hospodin mi zaplatil podľa mojej spravedlivosti, podľa čistoty mojich rúk, ktorá je pred jeho očima.

²⁶With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.

²⁶S milosrdným svätým sa dokazuješ milosrdným svätým; s bezúhonným človekom sa dokazuješ bezúhonným;

²⁷For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.

²⁷s čistým sa dokazuješ čistým a s premršteným sa dokazuješ prevráteným.

²⁸For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

²⁸Pretože ty zachrániš pokorný ľud strápený a vysoké oči ponížiš.

²⁹For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

²⁹Lebo ty rozsvecuješ moju sviecu. Hospodin, môj Bôh, osvecuje jasne moju tmu.

³⁰As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

³⁰Lebo v tebe prebehnem vojskom a vo svojom Bohu preskočím múr.

³¹For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?

³¹Cesta silného Boha je bezúhonná. Reč Hospodinova je čistá, dokázaná sťa zlato v ohni. On je štítom všetkým, ktorí sa utiekajú k nemu.

³²It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

³²Lebo kde kto je Bohom krome Hospodina, a ktože je skalou mimo nášho Boha?!

³³He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

³³Silný Bôh je to, kto ma opasuje silou a dáva, aby moja cesta bola bezúhonná;

³⁴He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

³⁴moje nohy robí podobnými nohám jelenice a postavuje ma na mojich výšinách.

³⁵Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

³⁵Moje ruky učí boju, a moje ramená lámu oceľové lučište.

³⁶Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

³⁶A dávaš mi štít, svoje spasenie, a podopieraš ma svojou pravicou, a tvoja blahosklonnosť ma zveličuje.

³⁷I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.

³⁷Rozšíril si podo mnou môj krok, a moje členky sa nehly.

³⁸I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

³⁸Honil som svojich nepriateľov a dostihol som ich a nevrátil som sa, až som im urobil koniec.

³⁹For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

³⁹Porazil som ich tak, že nemohli povstať; padli pod moje nohy.

⁴⁰Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.

⁴⁰A prepasovával si ma silou do boja; zohnul si podo mňa tých, ktorí povstávali proti mne.

⁴¹They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

⁴¹Mojich nepriateľov si mi dal, aby som im stúpil na šiju, a tých, ktorí ma nenávideli, aby som vyplienil.

⁴²Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

⁴²Volali o pomoc, ale nebolo spomocníka; volali na Hospodina, ale sa im neozval.

⁴³Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.

⁴³Rozdrtil som ich tak, že boli jako prach pred vetrom; vykydol som ich ako blato ulice.

⁴⁴As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

⁴⁴Vyslobodil si ma zo svárov ľudu; učinil si ma hlavou národom; ľud, ktorého som neznal, mi slúži.

⁴⁵The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

⁴⁵Len čo počuli chýr o mne, poslúchajú ma; cudzinci sa mi lichotne koria;

⁴⁶The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

⁴⁶synovia cudzieho národa vädnú strachom a trasúci sa prichádzajú zo svojich zavrených miest.

⁴⁷It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.

⁴⁷Žije Hospodin, a nech je požehnaná moja skala, nech je vyvýšený Bôh môjho spasenia!

⁴⁸He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

⁴⁸Silný Bôh je to, kto mi dáva pomstu a podmaňuje mi národy.

⁴⁹Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.

⁴⁹Môj vysloboditeľ, ktorý ma vyslobodzuješ od mojich nepriateľov, áno, povýšil si ma nad tých, ktorí povstávali proti mne; vytrhol si ma z moci ukrutného človeka.

⁵⁰Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

⁵⁰Preto ťa budem chváliť medzi národami, ó, Hospodine, a tvojmu menu budem spievať žalmy.

⁵¹Dáva veliké spasenie svojmu kráľovi a činí milosť svojmu pomazanému, Dávidovi, a jeho semenu, až na veky.
