¹But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

¹Ale ty hovor, čo sa svedčí zdravému učeniu.

²That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

²Starší mužovia nech sú triezvi, vážni, rozumní, zdraví vo viere, láske, trpezlivosti.

³The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

³Staršie ženy tak podobne, v držaní sa jako svedčí svätým, nie pomluvačné ani zotročené mnohému vínu, ktoré učia tomu, čo je dobré a krásne,

⁴That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

⁴aby učily mladé ženy rozumu, aby milovaly svojich mužov, aby milovaly svoje deti,

⁵To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

⁵aby boly rozumné, cudné, opatrujúce domácnosť, dobré, podriaďujúce sa vlastným mužom, aby sa nerúhali slovu Božiemu.

⁶Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

⁶Mladších taktiež napomínaj, aby boli rozumní,

⁷In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

⁷a pri tom sám seba vo všetkom dávaj za príklad dobrých skutkov, v učení neporušenosť, zbožnú vážnosť,

⁸Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

⁸slovo zdravé, ktoré by nemohol nikto odsúdiť, aby sa ten, kto je z protivnej strany, zahanbil nemajúc čo zlého vravieť o vás.

⁹Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

⁹Sluhovia vlastným pánom sa podriaďovať a ľúbiť sa im vo všetkom; nech neodhovárajú,

¹⁰Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

¹⁰neokrádať, ale preukazovať celú dobrú vernosť, aby vo všetkom zdobili učenie nášho Spasiteľa Boha.

¹¹For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

¹¹Lebo sa zjavila milosť Božia, spasiteľná všetkým ľuďom,

¹²Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

¹²ktorá nás vyučuje, aby sme sa odriekli bezbožnosti a svetských žiadostí a aby sme rozumne a spravedlive a pobožne žili na tomto svete

¹³Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

¹³očakávajúc blahoslavenú nádej a príchod slávy veľkého Boha a nášho Spasiteľa Ježiša Krista,

¹⁴Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

¹⁴ktorý dal sám seba za nás, aby si nás vykúpil od každej neprávosti a očistil sebe ľud zvláštny, horlivý dobrých skutkov.

¹⁵These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

¹⁵To hovor a napomínaj a karhaj s celým právom rozkazovať. Nech nikto tebou nepohŕda.
