¹And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

¹In zgodi se, če boš marljivo poslušal glas GOSPODA, svojega Boga, in pazil, da izpolnjuješ vse njegove zapovedi, ki ti jih jaz zapovedujem danes, da te GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, stori višjega mimo vseh narodov na zemlji;

²And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

²in pridejo nadte vsi ti blagoslovi in te dohité, ako boš poslušal glas GOSPODA, svojega Boga.

³Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

³Blagoslovljen boš v mestu, blagoslovljen na njivi.

⁴Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

⁴Blagoslovljen bo sad tvojega telesa, obrodek tvoje zemlje, prirastek tvoje živine, mladiči tvoje govedi in jagnjiči tvoje drobnice.

⁵Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

⁵Blagoslovljen bo tvoj koš in kadunje tvoje.

⁶Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

⁶Blagoslovljen boš, ko pojdeš noter, blagoslovljen tudi, ko pojdeš ven.

⁷The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

⁷GOSPOD stori, da bodo tvoji sovražniki, ki se vzpno zoper tebe, poraženi pred teboj; po enem potu pridejo zoper tebe, a po sedmih potih bodo bežali pred teboj.

⁸The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

⁸Zapove GOSPOD blagoslovu, da ti pride v žitnico in k vsakemu delu tvojih rok, in blagoslovil te bo v deželi, ki ti jo daje GOSPOD, tvoj Bog.

⁹The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.

⁹Potrdi te GOSPOD sebi za sveto ljudstvo, kakor ti je prisegel, ako boš hranil zapovedi GOSPODA, svojega Boga, in hodil po njegovih potih.

¹⁰And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.

¹⁰In vsa ljudstva na zemlji bodo videla, da se imenuješ po imenu GOSPODOVEM, in bala se te bodo.

¹¹And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

¹¹In GOSPOD stori, da boš imel obilje dobrega: sadú svojega telesa, prirastka svoje živine in pridelka svoje zemlje, v deželi, za katero je prisegel GOSPOD tvojim očetom, da ti jo da.

¹²The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

¹²GOSPOD ti odpre bogato zakladnico svojo, nebo, da daje dež tvoji deželi o pravem času in da blagoslovi vse delo tvoje roke; in posojal boš mnogim narodom, sam pa ničesar ne jemal naposodo.

¹³And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

¹³Postavi te GOSPOD, da bodeš glava, a ne rep; in bodeš samo zgoraj, ne pa spodaj, ako boš poslušal zapovedi GOSPODA, svojega Boga, ki ti jih jaz zapovedujem danes, da jih hraniš in izpolnjuješ,

¹⁴And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

¹⁴in se ne ganeš od nobene besede, ki vam jih danes zapovedujem, ne na desno, ne na levo, da bi šel za drugimi bogovi in jim služil.

¹⁵But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

¹⁵Ako pa ne boš poslušal glasu GOSPODA, svojega Boga, da bi hranil in izpolnjeval vse zapovedi in postave njegove, ki ti jih danes zapovedujem: vse te prokletve pridejo nadte in te dohite.

¹⁶Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

¹⁶Proklet boš v mestu, proklet na njivi.

¹⁷Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.

¹⁷Proklet bo tvoj koš in kadunje tvoje.

¹⁸Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

¹⁸Proklet bo sad tvojega telesa, obrodek tvoje zemlje, prireja tvoje govedi in mladiči tvoje drobnice.

¹⁹Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

¹⁹Proklet boš, ko pojdeš noter, proklet tudi, ko pojdeš ven.

²⁰The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.

²⁰GOSPOD pošlje nadte prokletstvo, zmešnjavo in grožnjo svojo v vsem, česar se lotiš z roko, da bi delal, dokler ne boš zatrt in dokler naglo ne pogineš, zaradi zla svojih dejanj, s katerimi si me zapustil.

²¹The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.

²¹GOSPOD naredi, da se ti prilepi kuga, dokler te ne pokonča s površja zemlje, v katero greš, da jo posedeš.

²²The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

²²GOSPOD te udari z jetiko, mrzlico, vročico in s prisadom, s sušo, s snetjo in z rjo, in zasledovale te bodo nadloge, dokler ne pogineš.

²³And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.

²³Nebo, ki ti je nad glavo, bode bronasto, in zemlja, ki po njej hodiš, železna.

²⁴The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

²⁴GOSPOD da tvoji deželi za dež prah in pepel, z neba bo padal nate, dokler ne boš pokončan.

²⁵The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

²⁵GOSPOD dopusti, da te porazijo tvoji sovražniki pred seboj: po enem potu pojdeš proti njim, a po sedmih potih boš bežal pred njimi; in pestili te bodo po vseh kraljestvih na zemlji.

²⁶And thy carcass shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.

²⁶In truplo tvoje bode v živež vsem pticam pod nebom in zverem na zemlji, in nikogar ne bo, da bi jih preplašil.

²⁷The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

²⁷GOSPOD te udari z egiptovskim ugnidjem, s tvori, s skrumbami in z garjami, da ne boš mogel ozdraveti.

²⁸The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:

²⁸Udari te GOSPOD z blaznostjo, slepoto in s plašljivostjo srca.

²⁹And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.

²⁹Tipal boš opoldne, kakor slepec tiplje v temi, in na svojih potih ne boš imel nobene sreče; tlačili te bodo in oplenjevali vse dni, a ne bo nikogar, da bi te rešil.

³⁰Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.

³⁰Ženo si zaročiš, a drug bo spal pri njej; hišo si sezidaš, a ne boš prebival v njej; vinograd zasadiš, a njegovega sadu ne boš užival.

³¹Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.

³¹Vol tvoj bo zaklan pred tvojimi očmi, a ne boš jedel njegovega mesa; osel tvoj ti bo s silo vzet izpred obličja, pa ga ne bo več nazaj; tvoje ovce bodo dane tvojim sovražnikom, in ne bo ti pomočnika.

³²Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in thine hand.

³²Tvoji sinovi in hčere bodo izročeni drugemu narodu, da oči tvoje vidijo in ginejo od koprnenja po njih vse dni; a moči ne bo v tvojih rokah:

³³The fruit of thy land, and all thy labors, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:

³³Sad tvoje zemlje in ves tvoj trud užije narod, ki ga ne poznaš; in bodo te samo tlačili in pestili vse tvoje žive dni,

³⁴So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

³⁴tako da izgubiš pamet spričo tega, kar bodo morale videti tvoje oči.

³⁵The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.

³⁵GOSPOD te udari s hudimi grčami na kolenih in na mečih, da ti ne bode ozdravljenja od podplatov do temena.

³⁶The LORD shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.

³⁶GOSPOD popelje tebe in tvojega kralja, ki ga postaviš nad seboj, med narod, katerega nisi poznal ne ti, ne očetje tvoji, in ondi boš služil drugim bogovom, lesu in kamenju.

³⁷And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.

³⁷In bodeš v grozo, v pregovore in zabavljice med vsemi ljudstvi, kamor te zažene GOSPOD.

³⁸Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.

³⁸Veliko semena odneseš na polje, a malo spraviš, zakaj kobilice požro vse.

³⁹Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.

³⁹Vinograde zasadiš in jih boš obdeloval, a ne boš ne vina pil, ne grozdja trgal, kajti črvi ga bodo snedli.

⁴⁰Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.

⁴⁰Oljke boš imel po vseh krajih svojih, a ne boš se mazilil z oljem, zakaj tvoja oljka se sama otrebi.

⁴¹Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.

⁴¹Sinove in hčere boš rodil, in vendar ne bodo tvoji, ker pojdejo v ujetništvo.

⁴²All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.

⁴²Vse tvoje drevje in sad tvoje zemlje posedejo kobilice.

⁴³The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.

⁴³Tujec, ki je pri tebi, bo stopal nadte više in više, ti pa boš padal vedno globokeje.

⁴⁴He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

⁴⁴On ti bo posojal, ti pa mu nikdar ne posodiš; on bode glava, ti pa rep.

⁴⁵Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

⁴⁵In vsa ta prokletstva pridejo nad te in te bodo preganjala in te dohite, da pogineš, zato ker nisi poslušal glasu GOSPODA, svojega Boga, da držiš zapovedi in postave njegove, ki ti jih je ukazal;

⁴⁶And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.

⁴⁶in ta prokletstva bodo nad teboj v znamenje in čudenje in nad tvojim zarodom vekomaj,

⁴⁷Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

⁴⁷zato ker nisi služil GOSPODU, svojemu Bogu, z veseljem in z radostnim srcem, ko si imel vsega obilost.

⁴⁸Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

⁴⁸Zato ti bode služiti svojim sovražnikom, ki jih pošlje GOSPOD zoper tebe, ob lakoti in žeji, v nagoti in vsem pomanjkanju. Železen jarem ti položi na vrat, dokler te ne zatare.

⁴⁹The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

⁴⁹GOSPOD pripelje nadte narod od daleč, od kraja zemlje, ki leti kakor orel, narod, čigar jezika ne razumeš;

⁵⁰A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young:

⁵⁰narod trdega obličja, ki se ne ozira na osebo starčka in se mladine ne usmili.

⁵¹And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.

⁵¹Ta pojé prirastke tvoje živine in zemlje tvoje, dokler ne boš pokončan; in ne ostavi ti ničesar, ne žita, ne vina, ne olja, ne prireje tvoje govedi, ne mladičev tvoje drobnice, dokler te ne zatare.

⁵²And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.

⁵²In pritiskal bo nate ob vseh vratih tvojih, dokler ne razruši po vsej deželi visokih in močnih tvojih zidov, na katere se zanašaš; pritiskal bo nate ob vseh vratih po vsej deželi tvoji, ki ti jo je dal GOSPOD, tvoj Bog.

⁵³And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:

⁵³Tedaj boš jedel svojega telesa sad, meso sinov in hčer svojih, ki ti jih je dal GOSPOD, tvoj Bog, pri obleganju in v stiski, s katero te bo stiskal tvoj sovražnik.

⁵⁴So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:

⁵⁴Mehak mož med vami in zelo razvajen bo nevoščljivo gledal svojega brata in ženo svojega naročja in ostale svoje otroke, ki mu še preostanejo,

⁵⁵So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.

⁵⁵ne hoteč dati nikomur izmed njih mesa svojih otročičev, ki ga bo jedel, ker mu ničesar ne preostane pri obleganju in v stiski, s katero te bo stiskal sovražnik tvoj v vseh tvojih vratih.

⁵⁶The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,

⁵⁶Mehka in razvajena ženska med vami, ki še od mehkosti in razvajenosti ni poskusila postaviti stopala svojega na tla, bo nevoščljivo gledala moža svojega naročja in svojega sina in hčer svojo,

⁵⁷And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.

⁵⁷zaradi trebeža, ki pride iz nje pri porodu, in zaradi otrok, katere porodi; kajti jedla jih bo skrivaj ob pomanjkanju vseh reči, pri obleganju in v stiski, s katero te bo stiskal sovražnik tvoj v tvojih vratih.

⁵⁸If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;

⁵⁸Ako ne boš pazil, da izpolniš vse besede te postave, zapisane v tej knjigi, da bi se bal tega slavnega in grozovitega imena, GOSPODA, svojega Boga:

⁵⁹Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.

⁵⁹tedaj pripravi GOSPOD tebi in zarodu tvojemu čudovite nadloge, nadloge velike in dolgotrajne, hude in dolge bolezni.

⁶⁰Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.

⁶⁰In pošlje nadte zopet vse kužne bolezni egiptovske, katerih si se bal, in te opne ž njimi.

⁶¹Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

⁶¹Tudi vse bolezni in vse nadloge, ki niso zapisane v knjigi te postave, pošlje GOSPOD nadte, dokler ne boš iztrebljen.

⁶²And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God.

⁶²In malo število vas ostane, dasi vas je bila množica kakor zvezd na nebu, zato ker nisi poslušal glasu GOSPODA, svojega Boga.

⁶³And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.

⁶³In kakor je bilo GOSPODU veselje, dobro vam storiti in vas množiti, tako mu bode veselje, vas pogubljati in pokončavati, in potrebljeni boste s površja dežele, v katero greste, da jo posedete.

⁶⁴And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.

⁶⁴In GOSPOD te razkropi med vsa ljudstva, od enega konca zemlje do drugega, in tam boš služil tujim bogovom, katerih nisi poznal ne ti, ne očetje tvoji, lesu in kamenu.

⁶⁵And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:

⁶⁵In med temi narodi ti ne bode pokoja, in počivališča ne bo stopalu tvoje noge; in GOSPOD ti da trepetajoče srce, medle oči in onemoglo dušo.

⁶⁶And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:

⁶⁶In tvoje življenje bo kakor na niti viseče tebi pred očmi, in v trepetu bodeš po noči in po dnevi, in ne boš si v svesti življenja svojega.

⁶⁷In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

⁶⁷Zjutraj porečeš: O da bi bil že večer! in zvečer porečeš: O da bi bilo že jutro! zaradi strahu svojega srca, v katerem boš trepetal, in zaradi tega, kar boš moral gledati s svojimi očmi.In pripelje te GOSPOD nazaj v Egipt na ladjah, po potu, o katerem sem ti rekel: Ne boš ga več videl, in ondi se boste prodajali svojim sovražnikom za sužnje in za sužnjice, a kupcev ne bo.

⁶⁸And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

⁶⁸In pripelje te GOSPOD nazaj v Egipt na ladjah, po potu, o katerem sem ti rekel: Ne boš ga več videl, in ondi se boste prodajali svojim sovražnikom za sužnje in za sužnjice, a kupcev ne bo.
