¹And God spake all these words, saying,

¹In Bog je govoril vse te besede, rekoč:

²I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

²Jaz sem GOSPOD, Bog tvoj, ki sem te izpeljal iz dežele Egiptovske, iz hiše sužnosti.

³Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

³Ne imej drugih bogov zraven mene.

⁴Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

⁴Ne delaj si rezanih podob niti nikakršnih podob tega, kar je zgoraj na nebu, kar je spodaj na zemlji in kar je v vodah pod zemljo:

⁵Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

⁶And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

⁷Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

⁸Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

⁹Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:

¹⁰But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

¹⁰ali sedmi dan je čas počitka GOSPODU, Bogu tvojemu: v njem ne opravljaj nobenega dela, ne ti, ne sin tvoj, ne hči tvoja, ne hlapec tvoj, ne dekla tvoja, ne živina tvoja, niti tujec, ki je v vratih tvojih.

¹¹For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

¹¹Zakaj v šestih dneh je ustvaril GOSPOD nebo in zemljo, morje in vse, kar je v njih, in sedmi dan je počival: zato je blagoslovil sobotni dan in ga posvetil.

¹²Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

¹²Spoštuj očeta svojega in mater svojo, da se podaljšajo dnevi tvoji v deželi, katero ti da GOSPOD, Bog tvoj.

¹³Thou shalt not kill.

¹³Ne ubijaj.

¹⁴Thou shalt not commit adultery.

¹⁴Ne prešeštvuj.

¹⁵Thou shalt not steal.

¹⁵Ne kradi.

¹⁶Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

¹⁶Ne govori krivega pričevanja zoper bližnjega svojega.

¹⁷Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's.

¹⁷Ne poželi hiše bližnjega svojega, ne poželi žene bližnjega svojega, ne hlapca njegovega, ne dekle njegove, ne vola, ne osla njegovega, ne ničesar, kar je bližnjega tvojega.

¹⁸And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.

¹⁸In vse ljudstvo je čulo grmenje in trombe glas in videlo plamene in kadečo se goro; in ko je ljudstvo to videlo, je trepetalo in se postavilo oddaleč.

¹⁹And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

¹⁹In rekli so Mojzesu: Govóri ti z nami, in poslušali bomo; nikar pa naj ne govori z nami Bog, da ne umrjemo.

²⁰And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

²⁰In Mojzes reče ljudstvu: Ne bojte se, kajti zato, da bi vas izkusil je prišel Bog, in zato, da bode strah njegov pred vašim obličjem da ne grešite.

²¹And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.

²¹In stalo je ljudstvo oddaleč, Mojzes pa se je približal temi, v kateri je bil Bog.

²²And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

²²In govoril je GOSPOD Mojzesu: Tako porečeš sinovom Izraelovim: Sami ste videli, da sem iz nebes govoril z vami.

²³Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.

²³Ne delajte si ničesar zraven mene, bogov iz srebra in bogov iz zlata si nikar ne delajte!

²⁴An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

²⁴Napraviš mi oltar iz prsti, in na njem boš daroval svoje žgalne in mirovne daritve, svojo drobnico in goved svojo; na vsako mesto, kjerkoli storim, da se bo spominjalo imena mojega, bom prihajal k tebi in te blagoslovil.

²⁵And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.

²⁵In če mi napraviš oltar iz kamenja, ne gradi ga iz rezanih kamenov: kajti ako si vihtel nad njim železo svoje, si ga oskrunil.Tudi ne boš stopal po stopnicah k oltarju mojemu, da se ne odkrije sramota tvoja pred njim.

²⁶Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
