¹Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

¹Čujte to, o duhovniki, in poslušajte, hiša Izraelova, in nagnite ušesa, hiša kraljeva! Kajti vam velja sodba, ker ste bili zadrga v Micpi in mreža razpeta na Taboru;

²And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.

²in odpadniki so globoko zabredli v popačenosti. Jaz pa jim bodem strahovalec v vsem.

³I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.

³Jaz poznam Efraima in Izrael mi ni skrit; kajti sedaj si nečistoval, o Efraim, Izrael se je onečistil.

⁴They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.

⁴Njih dejanja jim ne dopuščajo, da se vrnejo k svojemu Bogu; kajti duh nečistosti je v njih srcu in ne spoznavajo GOSPODA.

⁵And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity: Judah also shall fall with them.

⁵In ošabnost Izraelova pričuje njemu v oči; zato padeta Izrael in Efraim po krivici svoji, tudi Juda pade ž njima.

⁶They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.

⁶S svojo drobnico in s svojimi govedi pojdejo iskat GOSPODA, a ga ne najdejo: umaknil se jim je.

⁷They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.

⁷Nezvesto so ravnali zoper GOSPODA, kajti rodili so tuje otroke; sedaj jih požre mesec [Ali: mlaj.] ž njih deleži.

⁸Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Bethaven, after thee, O Benjamin.

⁸Zatrobite na rog v Gibei in na trobento v Rami, močno vpijte v Betavenu: Sovražnik ti je za hrbtom, o Benjamin!

⁹Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.

⁹Efraim postane pustota v dan svojega pokorjenja; o rodovih Izraelovih sem oznanil, kar se res zgodi.

¹⁰The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.

¹⁰Knezi Judovi so kakor tisti, ki prestavljajo mejnike; nadnje izlijem srd svoj kakor vodo.

¹¹Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.

¹¹Efraim je potlačen, potrt vsled sodbe, ker se mu je ljubilo hoditi po postavi človeški.

¹²Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.

¹²In jaz sem Efraimu kakor molj in kakor črvivost hiši Judovi.

¹³When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.

¹³Ko je Efraim videl bolezen svojo in Juda rano svojo, je šel Efraim v Asirijo in poslal h kralju Jarebu; ali on vas ne more ozdraviti, tudi ne zaceli rane vaše.

¹⁴For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.

¹⁴Kajti jaz bodem Efraimu kakor lev in hiši Judovi kakor levič: jaz, jaz raztrgam, in odidem; odnesem, in ne bo ga, ki bi otel.Odidem in se povrnem na mesto svoje, dokler ne priznajo krivde svoje in ne bodo iskali obličja mojega. V stiski svoji me bodo marljivo iskali in rekli:

¹⁵I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.

¹⁵Odidem in se povrnem na mesto svoje, dokler ne priznajo krivde svoje in ne bodo iskali obličja mojega. V stiski svoji me bodo marljivo iskali in rekli:
