¹Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

¹Glej, hlapec moj, ki ga podpiram, izvoljenec moj, ki je duši moji po volji: duha svojega sem del nanj, pravico bo oznanjal poganskim narodom.

²He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.

²Vpil ne bo, ne hrupa napravljal, in glas njegov se ne bo čul po ulicah.

³A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

³Trsta nalomljenega ne zlomi in tlečega stenja ne pogasi; po resnici bo oznanjeval pravico.

⁴He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

⁴Ne bo opešal, ne bo potrt, dokler ne ustanovi pravice na zemlji; in otoki bodo čakali nauka njegovega.

⁵Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

⁵Tako pravi Bog mogočni, Jehova, ki je ustvaril nebesa in jih razpel, ki je raztegnil zemljo ž njenim rastlinjem, ki daje dihanje ljudstvu, živečemu na njej, in duhá njim, ki hodijo po njej:

⁶I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

⁶Jaz, GOSPOD, sem te poklical v pravičnosti, in primem te za roko in te bom čuval, in dam te v zavezo ljudstvu, v svetlobo poganskim narodom,

⁷To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

⁷da odpreš slepe oči, da izvedeš iz zapora jetnike, iz ječe nje, ki sede v temi.

⁸I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

⁸Jaz sem GOSPOD, to je ime moje, in slave svoje ne dam drugemu, ne hvale svoje rezanim podobam.

⁹Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

⁹Prejšnje, glejte, se je zgodilo in novo naznanjam; preden nastane, vam napovedujem to.

¹⁰Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

¹⁰Pojte GOSPODU novo pesem, hvalo njegovo od konca zemlje vi, ki se vozite po morju, in vse, kar je v njem, otoki in njih prebivalci!

¹¹Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

¹¹Zaženo naj glas puščava in mesta njena, vasi, v katerih prebiva Kedar; pojo naj prebivalci skalnega kraja, s temena gorá naj vpijejo.

¹²Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.

¹²Dajo naj slavo GOSPODU in hvalo njegovo naj oznanjajo po otokih.

¹³The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.

¹³GOSPOD izide kakor junak, kakor mož bojevit zbudi gorečnost svojo, vpil bo in bojni krik zagnal, zoper sovražnike svoje se bo vedel junaško.

¹⁴I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

¹⁴Molčal sem dolgo časa, bil sem tih in se zdrževal; sedaj pa bom vpil kakor porodnica in sopihal in hkrati duškal.

¹⁵I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.

¹⁵Opustošim gore in hribe in vso njih travo posušim in reke naredim v otoke in jezera posušim.

¹⁶And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

¹⁶In popeljem slepce po potu, ki ga ne poznajo, po stezah, ki so jim tuje, jim dam hoditi; temo pred njimi naredim v svetlobo in hribast kraj v ravan. Te reči storim in jih ne opustim.

¹⁷They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.

¹⁷Umakniti se morajo, sramota jih oblije, kateri upajo v rezane podobe, kateri pravijo ulitim podobam: Vi ste bogovi naši.

¹⁸Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.

¹⁸Oj glušci, poslušajte, in vi slepci, odprite oči, da vidite!

¹⁹Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant?

¹⁹Kdo je slep, če ne hlapec moj? in gluh kakor poslanec moj, ki ga pošiljam? Kdo je slep kakor on, ki je v miru z menoj, slep kakor hlapec GOSPODOV?

²⁰Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.

²⁰Videl si mnogo, a ne meniš se za to; ušesa odpira, vendar ne sliši.

²¹The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

²¹GOSPOD je blagovolil zaradi pravičnosti svoje poveličati postavo in jo postaviti v čast.

²²But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.

²²A to je ljudstvo oplenjeno in oropano; vsi vkup so ujeti v luknjah in skrivajo se po ječah; v plen so, in nihče jih ne otimlje, ropanju so izročeni, in nihče ne pravi: Povrni jim!

²³Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?

²³Kdo je med vami, ki bi nagnil ušesa za to, ki bi pazil in poslušal v prihodnje?

²⁴Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.

²⁴Kdo je dal Jakoba v ropanje in Izraela njim, ki plenijo? Ali ne GOSPOD, zoper katerega smo grešili? Niso namreč hoteli hoditi po potih njegovih, in poslušali niso postave njegove.Zato je razlil čezenj jeze svoje srd in vojske silo; ali dasi ga je zažgala kroginkrog, ni spoznal, zapalila ga je, a ni mu seglo v srce.

²⁵Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.

²⁵Zato je razlil čezenj jeze svoje srd in vojske silo; ali dasi ga je zažgala kroginkrog, ni spoznal, zapalila ga je, a ni mu seglo v srce.
