¹Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.

¹Ne delajte si malikov, tudi si ne postavljajte rezanih podob ali kipov in ne poslikanih kamenov v deželi svoji, da bi pred njimi molili; zakaj jaz sem GOSPOD, Bog vaš.

²Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

²Sobote moje praznujte in svetišče moje spoštujte. Jaz sem GOSPOD.

³If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

³Ako boste živeli po postavah mojih in hranili zapovedi moje ter jih izpolnjevali,

⁴Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

⁴vam bom dajal dež o pravem času, in zemlja bo rodila sad svoj in drevje na polju sadje svoje.

⁵And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

⁵In mlatitev vam bo trajala do trgatve in trgatev bo trajala do setve, in jedli boste kruh svoj dositega in brez skrbi prebivali v deželi svoji.

⁶And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

⁶In dam mir po deželi vaši, da boste spali in ne bo nikogar, ki bi vas strašil; in storim, da izginejo hude zverine iz pokrajine vaše, in meč ne pojde čez deželo vašo.

⁷And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

⁸And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

⁸pet izmed vas jih bo podilo sto, in sto vaših jih bo podilo deset tisoč, in padali bodo pred vami pod mečem.

⁹For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.

⁹Oziral se bom na vas in storim vas rodovitne ter vas razmnožim in vzdržim zavezo svojo z vami.

¹⁰And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.

¹⁰In jedli boste stare pridelke, dolgo shranjene, in stare na stran devali pred novimi.

¹¹And I set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.

¹¹In postavim prebivališče svoje sredi vas, in duša moja vas ne bo mrzila.

¹²And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.

¹²In izprehajal se bom med vami, in bodem vam Bog, vi pa bodete ljudstvo moje.

¹³I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.

¹³Jaz sem GOSPOD, Bog vaš, ki sem vas odpeljal iz dežele Egipčanov, da jim ne bodete sužnji; in zlomil sem spone jarma vašega ter vas vzravnal, da hodite pokoncu.

¹⁴But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;

¹⁴Ako pa me ne boste poslušali in ne boste izpolnjevali vseh teh zapovedi,

¹⁵And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:

¹⁵nego boste zaničevali postave moje in duša vaša bo mrzila sodbe moje, tako da ne boste izpolnjevali vseh zapovedi mojih, temuč v nič devali zavezo mojo,

¹⁶I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

¹⁷And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

¹⁸And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.

¹⁸Če me pa po vsem tem še ne boste poslušali, vas hočem sedemkrat bolj kaznovati za grehe vaše,

¹⁹And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:

¹⁹in potrem vaše moči prevzetnost in storim, da vam bode nebo kakor železo in zemlja kakor bron;

²⁰And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.

²⁰in moči svoje boste trošili brezuspešno, in zemlja vam ne bo dajala pridelkov svojih in drevje v deželi ne prinašalo sadja svojega.

²¹And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

²¹In če mi boste na zoper živeli, ne hoteč me poslušati, pridenem sedemkrat več udarcev po grehih vaših.

²²I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate.

²²In pošljem nad vas poljske zveri, da vam ugrabijo otroke ter vam požro črede in zmanjšajo število vaše, in ceste vaše postanejo puste.

²³And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;

²³In če se po takem še ne boste popravili meni pogodi in mi boste na zoper živeli,

²⁴Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.

²⁴hočem tudi jaz vam nasprotovati in vas udarim tudi jaz sedemkrat za grehe vaše.

²⁵And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

²⁵In pošljem nad vas meč, ki bode maščevalec zaveze moje; in ko se zberete v mestih svojih, pošljem kugo med vas, da boste izdani sovražniku v pest.

²⁶And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

²⁶Ko strem podporo kruha vašega, vam bo deset žen peklo kruh v eni peči in vam ga bodo oddajale na tehtnico, in jedli boste, pa se ne nasitite.

²⁷And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;

²⁷In če me po vsem tem ne boste poslušali in mi še na zoper živeli,

²⁸Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.

²⁸vam hočem tudi jaz nasprotovati v togoti, in kaznoval vas bom sedemkrat za grehe vaše.

²⁹And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

²⁹In jedli boste meso sinov svojih in hčer svojih meso boste uživali.

³⁰And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.

³⁰In zatreti hočem višave vaše in uničiti solnčne stebre vaše, in vržem mrtva trupla vaša na trupla grdih malikov vaših, in duša moja vas bo mrzila.

³¹And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors.

³¹In porušim mesta vaša ter opustošim svetišča vaša, in ne bom maral duhati prijetnih dišav vaših.

³²And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.

³²In opustošim deželo vašo, da bodo strmeli nad njo sovražniki vaši, prebivajoči v njej.

³³And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.

³³Vas pa hočem razkropiti med narode in potegniti meč za vami, in dežela vaša bode pusta in mesta vaša postanejo samote.

³⁴Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.

³⁴Tedaj se naužije zemlja sobot svojih; vse dni opustošenja svojega, dokler bodete v deželi sovražnikov svojih, bo počivala zemlja in bo poravnala sobote svoje;

³⁵As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.

³⁵vse dni opustošenja svojega bo imela počitek, počitek, ki ga ni imela ob sobotnih letih vaših, ko ste prebivali v njej.

³⁶And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.

³⁶In kolikor jih izmed vas preostane, v njih srca denem plašljivost v pokrajinah njih sovražnikov, da jih plaši šumenje letečega listja ter bodo bežali kakor pred mečem in padali, dasi jih nihče ne podi;

³⁷And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.

³⁷in spotikali se bodo drug ob drugega, bežeč kakor pred mečem, ne da bi jih kdo podil; in ne boste si upali stati pred sovražniki svojimi.

³⁸And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.

³⁸In poginete med poganskimi narodi in dežela sovražnikov vaših vas požre.

³⁹And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.

³⁹In kar vas preostane, bodo sahnili v krivici svoji v pokrajinah sovražnikov vaših, in tudi v krivicah očetov svojih bodo sahnili ž njimi vred.

⁴⁰If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;

⁴⁰In pripoznali bodo krivico svojo in krivico očetov svojih po nezvestobi, ki so jo zakrivili proti meni, pa tudi, ker so mi na zoper živeli,

⁴¹And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:

⁴¹da sem i jaz jim nasprotoval in jih odpeljal v njih sovražnikov deželo. Ako se tedaj poniža njih neobrezano srce in bo tedaj dosti kaznjena njih krivda:

⁴²Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

⁴²spomnim se zaveze svoje z Jakobom, pa tudi zaveze svoje z Izakom in zaveze svoje z Abrahamom se spomnim, in dežele se spomnim.

⁴³The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.

⁴³Zakaj dežela bo zapuščena od njih in bo uživala sobote svoje, ležeč pusta in daleč od njih; in dosti bo kaznjena njih krivda zato, prav zato, ker so zametali sodbe moje in so se njih duši gnusile postave moje.

⁴⁴And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the LORD their God.

⁴⁵But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.

⁴⁵Spomnim se torej njim v prid zaveze svoje s predniki, ki sem jih peljal iz dežele Egiptovske pred očmi poganov, da naj bi jim bil Bog. Jaz sem GOSPOD.To so postave moje in sodbe in ukazi, ki jih je postavil GOSPOD med seboj in sinovi Izraelovimi na gori Sinaju po Mojzesu.

⁴⁶These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which the LORD made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.

⁴⁶To so postave moje in sodbe in ukazi, ki jih je postavil GOSPOD med seboj in sinovi Izraelovimi na gori Sinaju po Mojzesu.
